I received an email on March 5 about enrolling as a volunteer at Wilshire 🙄 ... it's a little outside my geographic zone ... looks like a decent package for only $65.

The Monday qualifiers were Cydney Clanton and J. Chang. Players are dropping out like flies ... I remember when The EMP was the 144th player on the field list ... now she has moved up to #140.

Desperation Row. JYK is the only player capable of stopping the extraordinary humiliation.

Disregard my last post. I forgot that Korda doesn't have the guts to win on a course like Wilshire.

Good, Jen Chang can finish top 10 here this week and get off the scrub tour. She was down last year but deserves better! Finished top 10 when In Gee won her major but hasn't been close to replicating that success.

My field rating for this event is a solid 70%, although it is down some from last year's 74%. My breakdown is 78% from the LPGA Priority List and 62% from the Rolex Rankings. The field will be led by top ten players: Celine Boutier #3 Ruoning Yin #4 Minjee Lee #6 Jin Young Ko #7 Charley Hull #8 Hyo Joo Kim #10 Top ten Players not teeing it up this week: Nelly Korda #1 Lilia Vu #2 Brooke Henderson #5 Lydia Ko #9
Other stuff: Unless you have been living under a rock, you know that Nelly Korda has tied the all-time LPGA record by winning five consecutive tournaments. She joins Hall of famers Nancy Lopez and Anika Sorenstam as the only LPGA players to win five consecutive starts. She will be going for six straight at the Cognizant Founders Cup in New Jersey. Nelly's streak has come in all sorts of different ways: She has won when leading going into the final round. Has won when having to come from behind. Has won in very difficult windy and rainy conditions. Has won in perfect playing conditions. Has won in regulation 72 holes. Has won in a playoff (twice). Has won in stroke play events. Has won the Matchplay event. Has won non-major events. Has won the only Major Championship played this year. It is only the Month of April, and Nelly has accumulated six Hall of Fame points already this year. She will certainly be player of the year which will be a seventh point. She leads the race for the Vare Trophy also. There are four more Major championships to be held this year (that's eight more points up for grabs), and the winner of the Olympic gold medal (Nelly is the defending champ) gets a point also.
Brooke Henderson recorded her fifth top ten of the year joining Nelly Korda for most on tour. Nelly's win was the sixth by a player from the USA. New Zealand, Thailand, and Australia have one each.
With Jin Hee Im's impressive showing this past week, the Louise Suggs Rolex Rookie of the year has tighened up. Gabriela Ruffles is on top with 201 points. Im has jumped all the way up to second place with 150 points. They are followed by Mone Inami (149), Austin Kim (125), and Mao Saigo (108). This could turn out to be the closest race in quite sometime.
There was quite of bit of movement in the Rolex Rankings this week: Nelly Korda stays on top for a 5th consecutive week (42nd week for her in all). Her lead is so big that it almost doubles (12.42) the second place player (Lilia Vu 6.52). She figures to reside there for quite sometime. Brooke Henderson makes the most important move this week jumping from 12-5. Carlota Ciganda moves from 30-24. Maya Stark rises from 46-28. Jin Hee Im springs from 49-42. A Lim Kim surges from 54-44. Jennifer Kupcho powers her way up from 56-49. Lauren Coughlin Catapults from 94-51. Esther Henseleit leaps from 82-72. Outside the top 100: Stephanie Meadow vaults up from 116-103. Nanna Koerstz Madsen hurdles from 125-111. Yealimi Noh skyrockets from 243-153.

MHL was grouped with BadA$$ and Team Pano for Thursday afternoon ... they could be in the broadcast window.
Yuri Yoshida and Shibuno Fever
Ayakee Furoo ... every time they say "arroyo", take a drink.
An oasis in a desert of degradation.
Will fanofseri be in the cheap seats?
Wile E. Coyote, WTH!

every time they say "arroyo", take a drink. Are you trying to quit? You'll stay pretty sober if you're waiting for them to say "arroyo." Take a drink whenever they say "barranca" and someone will have to pick you up off the floor. Extra points if you correctly pick Terry or Tom saying it the most.

We have a pack of coyotes living in a park near my house. Occasionally we'll see one or two strutting down the middle of the street like they don't have a care in the world. Yes, I live in Seattle, not near a desert. It's not what you would expect to see!

Good call on the broadcast group, Phil. I'm also expecting to see a lot of Ayaka and Alison since they are grouped with Rose... the cameras will certainly follow her...

I cannot remember "barranca" when it is spoken only four days out of the year.

Hyo Joo 40/1 to win is a slap in the face. I'll take that all day.

I wonder if there's anyone who has won as recently as Hyo Joo who has crappier odds? Weird.

This is about the best chance the Koreans are going to have to win in a while. A course they like, a city that's Korean-friendly, and 22 Sisters in the field. If they can't win here it's going to be a long wait before their next best chance.
Sisters hwaiting!
I'm especially interested in seeing what Jin Young can do. She played three decent nines at the Chevron, but her initial nine, when she was at her rustiest, was so far over par that she couldn't make the cut. the other three were even par or better. Hoping she gets out to a great start.
Beyond her, it's time for the Rookies and Hae Ran to start shining. Im and Ryu had good weeks last week, but So Mi and Yu Jin are too good not to produce some quality soon.
