In Gee is not in the Thailand field. With the small field the Priority list did not get to her. I believe a few players will still be added from the Australia top finishes this week. www.lpgathailand.com/th/player_listIt appears In Gee got one of the ten sponsor's invitations. Once Nomura's putts started to drop, it was lights out. What an amazing birdie on 17 to slam the door!

It will be interesting to see if the Kang Gang follows Danielle to Rancho Mirage. My guess is she will have at least 10 to 12 followers including the Gretzkys.
Whan continues to embarrass himself with these limited field events. The U.S. finally has a player with some amount of charisma and she isn't in the Thailand field. That's not what golf is about. The event is in Thailand and there are only a couple of Thais in the field.
I'm hoping the time spent with Rory and Cameron McCormick in LA pays off for SYR this week. Her career is at a crossroads. She should win at least three times per year for the next five years.

Congratulation to Humura for her first win. I was really hoping Danielle would get her first win. I am surprised that she hasn't won yet.
Kudos to Annie Park for her first top ten. Hoping she does better than her other former teammates of the USC Trojan golf team. Salas is the only one that has done anything.

Nomura played brilliantly...what a display of ball striking with her approach shots....the few putts she missed at the beginning were made up for on the back 9. Ko played well too...so Jason can board the plane to Thailand.
Kang and Shin displayed why they are still winless.....it's not easy trying to chase down the premier pros on Sunday.

Expenses are paid for on the Asian swing...the sponsors and the LPGA don't want to pay for the pros who will shoot +20 before a cut on Friday.

I'm hoping the time spent with Rory and Cameron McCormick in LA pays off for SYR this week. Her career is at a crossroads. IMO....SYR's issues are 80% mental....and as Winbee, Bada*s, HJK, Dumbo and The Hulk continue to separate themselves from SYR...it will unfortunately be more challenging for her. SYR needs to get more nasty....a couple of weeks playing golf with The Smiling Buddha would fix her attitude.

I'm surprised the LPGA and Golf Channel management don't fanboy/fangirl Danielle Kang. They probably will if she keeps playing well. Perfect combo of ability, coolness and I have a feeling she's quite the drama star.

Perfect combo of ability, coolness and I have a feeling she's quite the drama star. 1) Because Danielle doesn't have the sex appeal of Belen Mozo....GC drools over Belen...she is the one pro that has such a disproportionate amount of TV coverage considering her below average performance. 2) Danielle get her drama from her mom, Grace.....I chatted with her at the CN CWO in 2012.....she's quite the entertainer and has Cougar qualities. twitter.com/gatali

I wonder if those nut bars will be back in town this year....remember Danielle, her mom and a friend were accosted in a restaurant in PS either last year or the year before. You should try to get some free food....ask Grace if she needs an escort for dinner.....tell her you'll punch the clowns out if they should stalk them at supper time.

Those of you who remember my old partner over at Mostly Harmless The Constructivist might remember him being a huge fan of Japanese players. If he is ever going to come out of the woodwork, it's now. I like the idea that Bruce was just hiding for the past four years, waiting for a Japanese winner. Good thing BangkokBobby doesn't do that with the Thai players - we'd never see him. Glad to see Nomura win. I don't know much about her, and yet I found myself rooting for her to win. Well, read about her on seoulsisters.com for a start: Haru Nomura BioWait, seoulsisters? What is she doing there? She's half Korean, that's why! In fact, she said in an interview I read that she speaks Korean better than Japanese! In case you were wondering where the Hanwha sponsorship came from, now you know!

Confession time: I have spent most of the weekend catching up on work and did not have a chance to see the final round of the tournament. I might still catch up with it later if I have a chance. Congrats to Haru Nomura, perhaps the most unlikely Seoul Sister in the field! She has been lurking on leaderboards all season, and shooting a 65 in the final round is a boss way to get your first win! I was most rooting for Ha Na Jang, but it looks like she was never really a factor. Still, you can't complain about a T-4th. Still wasn't enough to get her onto the Olympic team, though: she's still 5th as of the latest rankings! Sitting there at t-4th is another player who is quietly having a career year, Min Seo Kwak. I looked it up and was amazed to discover that there are only TWO Korean golfers (IE, play for Korea) on the LPGA right now with better than category 13 status who do not have at least one win: Jenny Shin and Min Seo Kwak. And both of them were in the hunt here and came up short. For Kwak, though, this makes for a huge improvement over her previous stuff. I wonder if we will be seeing a win out of her someday... Looks like Jenny Shin was not able to get it done again. But two rookies made a splash: Annie Park, who made her first top ten, and Su Oh, who finished t-14th for her career best finish in anticipation of her title defense at the Aussie Masters next week. Annie leaps to third in the rookie standings, and is only (I think) the second rookie to make a top ten this year. I read in Golfweek that she was so sick in the Bahamas she needed an IV! So I'll cut her some slack on the massive missed cut that week and will say I'm really looking forward to seeing what she will do against a tougher field going forward! Congrats again to Haru. Sisters Hwaiting!!!
