7 birds from Caroline Masson. I was watching the last round of the Solheim recently. Pretty crazy events on 18 with her having a putt to win before Gerina made her putt. Gerina was the "cluth" hero but the reality was she did everything to throw the match away in the clutch on 17 and 18, missing the green both times. Felt bad for Masson missing her putt so she'll be on my favorite list for a while. Putt, great info on those events. Thank you. Solheim is a for sure. I might even pull for the USA since the core of the team is acting like adults representing their country, finally. Don If you want to fanboy Masson...beware....she can have a temper...I saw a bit of it in 2013 in Portland....Xtina had a tweet calling Masson to stay classy after the 2013 Solheim. Xtina likely went searching for a party...likely ran into the Euro's party room....stepped in and Masson likely told her to FO. You should root for the Euros in 2017...they need all the help they can muster up....they are going to get slaughtered....the team is getting weaker each passing month.

The men's telecast mentioned Spieth's instructor is in LA. SYR is likely getting some last minute instruction. I hope he doesn't turn her into a creep and absolute bore like Jordan. I assume you think Spieth is a phony? I think he is a phony. I hate how he gestures and talks to the ball. Mainly I hate how GC shows him insessantly just like they did with Tiger. Glad he wont be here for the weekend.

That's funny about Masson, I'll keep my eyes peeled for signs of trouble. It's more interesting when the LPGA has a few Euros so I pull for them. SuzP is a no tho. Nordquist is probably nice but a little dull. I'm pulling for Hull because she's the blue collar glamour the tour needs for American ratings. Mel and Ciganda are my style. I'll probably pull for that Irish kid who goes to Duke now too, forget her name. I wonder what's up with Euro women in the world rankings. Passed up by Thailand, China etc.

When Ha Na Jang won the Coates a few weeks ago, I asked who was the best Korean on the LPGA without a win. My guess was Jenny Shin. Could Shin be in the process of trying to rectify that? She does seem to like playing this event; did they say top tens the past two years? Anyway, here she is again, just one shot back. Let's see if she can keep it up! Meanwhile, just three back are Ha Na and the more accomplished J. Shin, Jiyai. It's so fun seeing Jiyai again! Last year she said she was interested in coming back to the LPGA tour. This event is the last one she won before leaving the tour a few years back. Would be awesome karma if she could make it the site of her return. I love watching Ha Na punch those shots under the wind. I hope it stays tough and windy all weekend. The three Korean ams struggled, but all made the cut. This is definitely a good learning experience for them. But SooBin seemed to be doing well during the broadcast, yet still ended up with a 77. Ouch! Oh well, still T-11th. And Annie Park made the cut, too! So did Christine Song! Money at last! Minjee looked really ragged, though. She somehow scraped into the weekend, but boy, she had better spend some time on the range, that was painful to watch. Su Oh is now ahead of her old rival! Sisters Hwaiting!

Su Oh has a knowledgeable caddy in Mike Clayton this week (course re-designer). He wrote a great piece on what a golf tournament feels like throughout the week. www.womensausopen.com/news-display/92282Speaking of Ha NA wind shots, how about the punch shot she hit w/ the driver off the tee. Never seen that before. Minjee was all over the course when I was watching. Remarkable she made the cut.

Although a Korean will likely win, so far, they are an irrelevant back story at the Australian Open. It is tremendous that the underrated Catriona Matthew is tied for the lead at the age of 46. Se Ri has been reduced to visiting the PGA Merchandise Show while Matthew is still earning a living on the tour. Good luck to all the players.

I'd like to see Ji Ya win this and return to the LPGA...she hit some sweet approach shots in the wind yesterday. A WRX member is walking scorer at this event....he vol'd for a low rank group in the PM wave in the wind and was saying how clueless his group was playing in the wind. Many of the gals have one dimensional games.

I'm sure it wasn't because Xtina didn't tip a bellman. I know you've seen Xtina in real life....she's quite the phony Drama Queen.

I believe both also worked for Sky Sports in 2011 too.

Passed up by Thailand, China etc. Don: I like Tutta because she has a sailor's mouth and I love how she dressed down a rules official at the Evian.....he cowered and crumbled...it was so funny. I wish it was Crusty Kerr and not Alison GIMMEE at the '17th hole drama at the 2015 Solheim....it was lame with all the crying from Alison and Charley. It would have been a lovely dust up between Tutta vs. Kerr...ultimately with Tutta punching and slapping Crusty...that would have been EPIC....this is the type of drama the LPGA needs to increase coverage. Nordquist's nickname is Cold Fish....she's not overly fan friendly....Pernilla Lindberg is cute...but kinda icy too. Charley Hull is awesome...and she plays BLADES too....her dad is a really nice guy....I chatted with him often at the CP CWO....he's the anti-BJ Wie....he doesn't interfere in Charley's game and wants to to have fun while she's young rather than play too much. Mel is cool too.....though I've never seen her. I really like Jodi Ewart Shaddoff...she's got moxy and cute too. Aza is another Euro worth fanboying...she's such a sweet young lady. Belen Mozo is choking it up...unfortunately you likely won't see her play this year due to her poor priority status....Belen has sex appeal oooozing out of each pour in her body....her nickname at WRX is SMOKEHOUSE or SMOKESHOW. I use to like Recari...but her recent poor performance has made her a b*itch...she use to be only aloof in 2013. The above three are known as the Spanish Killer B's. Sandra Gal is a doll and her nickname is LEGS....I never cared much for her...but in 2013....another guy talked me into watching her....after a hole and seeing her demeanor....I became a fanboy....besides...she's a good friend of the one and only and the LOVELY Hee Young Park...ya gotta luv The Rocket.

The coverage in round 3 was weird. They were not only relentlessly focused on the same six or seven golfers, they never seemed to show any leaderboards. As a result, I was quite stunned to check the scores later and discover that Ha Na Jang is only two shots back at 7 under!!! She is totally in this, is the second highest ranked player in the field, and got a sum total of one shot shown during the broadcast. The hell? Anyways, it would be something else if she could pull this off. Go Ha Na! Alas, Jiyai Shin had a horrible day and is out of it, but Jenny Shin is tied for the lead (yet not in the final group). She is in the same position as Jang was at Coates: playing the last day paired with Ko while tied for the lead. Could she repeat what Ha Na did and end her winless drought? Yet another player who could end a winless drought: Danielle Kang. Would love to see her give it a go. She can get to Honda and HSBC if she wins... A few other notes: Annie Park has silently moved to T-13th, just four back. Still very much in this! Minjee also clawed her way back into the top twenty, five back. Ditto So Young Lee, who could manage her best LPGA finish yet tomorrow. Go Sisters!!!

I hope Ko doesn't steal Jenny's lunch tomorrow...BTW, the KLPGA member roster says Jenny is Shin Ji Eun 4. I'm watching the replay and her usual loop, Cheeseburger Chad, is not there.
