Eom Ji Park (2006 CWO) was a gal out of Marine Drive that people use to talk about here...she's never done anything too special...she's likely now working along side Angela Park at the front desk at some hotel somewhere in LA.

Unfortunately, my attendance at the 2003 USWA at Philadelphia CC in not in The Archives, but I remember EJP arriving to eat at the same Asian fast food joint I was in at the King of Prussia mall. She was in red golf attire, probably her national team outfit. She was with a man and woman, I think...the guy had some sort of British Commonwealth accent (looked like her caddie and/or coach, I assume). This was right after she bombed out of the medal qualifying, 79-76-155.
I was there for the 2nd round of qualifying and the 1st round of matches...a lot of drama, the USGA still has the details:

Phil Again...you never seem to disappoint. How the heck would you recognize a Canuck no name at a random mall....kudos.
Is this the guy with EJP?...he's Doug Roxburgh....a long time member of Marine Drive and an incredible Am record once the head of Golf Canada's Am development program...I've bumped into him at a few GC events and saw him at Chambers Bay last year.
Man...the 2003 Am would have be great to watch...it was stacked....I recognize 25+ names....RIP Erica.
I still have the page of the Philly Inquirer with all the First Round medal scores...wasn't difficult to confirm who it was later.
I don't remember what EJP's caddie/coach looked like, but I think I found him. Did some poking around on the Internet and found this photo & caption (related to 2003 BMO CWO):
Eom-Ji Park went four rounds inside the ropes with her caddy and golf instructor, Brett Saunders of Australia.
Aussie accent...I'll bet that was the guy. Can you make out those irons? I blew it up at 300% but it's still fuzzy. I'm guessing Cobra.
...and here is EJP. Beth Daniel won this one at 46 and I think she's still the oldest LPGA winner...saw her in person at the end of her career (2006-07).
18-year-old Vancouver amateur Eom-Ji Park is a champion in the making. Cut last year, this time she was 2nd low Canadian.
I had to look him up...Brett has a golf school with Scott Rodgers at Meadow Gardens...Scott was the guy who gave Lydia a last minute tip to flatten her swing at the 2012 CWO.
I volunteered at the 2003 CWO....I signed up late...security or maintenance...I chose the later...best job. I had a golf cart and headset...my main duty was to keep 6 holes filled with water and ice....I was quick and could get my work done in 90 mins and had the rest of my 6 hr shift to cruise around in my cart to fanboy.....I accumulated all my shift hours up by Wed and fanboy'd on my own Thurs-Sun.
I still wear my vol shirt every now and then....I don't wear it often...so it's in good shape.
Beth Daniel...meh.....her lover Meg won in 2004....another meh.....I went in 2004 for one day on Tues....I was back in the Toronto area on holidays....I saw the pre-pink Diva in the parking lot with her dad and saw Greg Sheridan at a casino later that night....spoke with John Gulbis...at that time...Natalie took a brief time-out from Butch.
Phil I could see these being Cobra SS or SS-i irons.
OK...pull out you archives.....what do you have on Angela Jerman?...I saw Angela as a rookie at the 2003 CWO...then I started to fanboy her....a nice young lady....now married and I guess married life must be good...she's put on some pounds.
Don How often have you seen Gulbis or The Pink Diva play?
3putt, Never. I'm not at y'alls level or even close to it. Yet.
Don From your earlier comment...as I suspected...you had yet to see The Pink Diva or Gulbis in person.
Creamer is a fine actress....there's not a camera she doesn't love....but if you see her at an event....you will see she has some entitlement persona and she's a bit snobby. Gulbis on the other hand is what you see on TV and more so in real life....a very approachable, likable and very sincere person.
Gulbis is popular....but her lack of wins and a major prevents her from making Creamer type endorsements.
Don...do you live nearby a LPGA?....if yes....I guarantee you'll really enjoy watching these girls live....what other sporting event can one get within feet of world class athletes.....99% of the LPGA pros are extremely friendly to the fan base.
OK...pull out you archives.....what do you have on Angela Jerman?
Absolutely nothing, but I remember her name. She made a little over $100K as a rookie, but her career nosedived rapidly after that.
I'm surprised you have a null field.
I noticed Angela because she was super friendly with her pro-am group...so I gave her some attention as a new face on the LPGA tour....besides....the Smiling Buddha has a soft spot for eye candy. She and Kris Tschetter, Stephanie Louden were sponsored at one point with Liz Golf.
So what do you have on Kris and Steph? I bought Kris's book for $5 at Golftown 18 months ago...but it's still collecting dust on the night stand.....one of my best friend's dad went to ophthalmology school with Kris's dad and attended Kris's wedding. I chatted up Kris at the 2003 BMO CWO...she was emptying her bag and gave me 6 Hogan Apex balls...I think they are still in a box somewhere.
Nothing on Steph, but I saw Kris at the 2009 Sybase, Fri. round:
I spent the morning on the front nine. H.J. Choi, Audra Burks, and Ashleigh Simon teed off at #1. I followed them half way down, then reversed direction to follow the group coming up the 2nd fairway: Birdie Kim, Kris Tschetter, and Janice Moodie. Tschetter had a small folding chair attached to her bag; I read she had a double hip replacement. She was walking okay, but you wouldn’t say she had a spring in her step.
Ha Na Jang has a nickname that reflects the passion she exudes on the golf course. She calls herself 'The Ha Na-giser' after the battery, and fans at the ISPS Handa Women's Australian Open in Adelaide this week are about to have a treat watching her.
Jang, 23, is the world No. 9 after her breakthrough win in the Coates Championship on the LPGA Tour in Florida less than a fortnight ago. She is also one of the most interesting players to watch; she celebrated with a Samurai sword routine, replacing her sword in an imaginary scabbard.
The American-based South Korean player makes no apologies for her flamboyance. She grew up watching Tiger Woods, Christina Kim and John Daly, all gregarious players, and thought it was the path she would take. It is just her character. "I tried it (the Samurai) in a practice round,'' she said. "I thought: 'I'm going to try the Samurai'. It was really fun.''
Jang said her overt celebrations began right back at 12 years of age when she qualified to play in the Korean Open. "The galleries were clapping and I thought 'this is nice'. It's my character, it's my image.''
Her coach, Kevin Kim, does not discourage it. ''I think it's good,'' said Kim. "She's very competitive and that's probably whey she does it. At times she can get a little bit too emotional because she wants to win so badly. But it just comes from will to win and the hard work she's put in. It's more natural than anything else.
"It's something you don't often see in golf, maybe in the Ryder Cup but not in stroke play events or individual play. I think it's good for golf when Hana does what she does. It draws attention to the game.''
Jang will be one of the favorites at The Grange this week in her second trip to Australia. She contended for a time at Royal Melbourne last year but fell away, but this time she comes into an event as a winner. She spent a lot of last year fretting over a few missed opportunities, including four tournaments where she was perceived as having thrown away a potential victory. "She was really stressed out,'' said Kim. "When you lose tournaments after leading for three days it feels worse. The winning slipped out of her hands.''
She believes maturity will be the big difference for her this year in an event which she puts alongside other national Opens like the US Open and the Korean Open. "I like firm greens, firm fairways, strong winds, so there's no problem this week. It's very important. The Australian Open is a really big tournament, like the US Open and the Korean Open because they are national championships. A country's Open is a really big honor if you have a chance to win.''
