Happy: " With all due respect to Thompson, the reason she won is because Park was repeatedly robbed on the back nine. " Seriously? ?.....LMAO. Did you train at the Golf Channel's School of Journalism and Randall Mell was your mentor. Lexi won .....yet no accolades nor a picture of her in your post above. As I've always said...you are one of the funniest posters on this site...well played sir. HappyFan, Come on.....your better than that. When Stacy lost to Shanshan and said that Shanshan was lucky...she was crucified on here. I was the first to blast her. What your saying here is just as bad. It just sounds like sour grapes. South Korean golfers, in spite of a small slump they are going through now, are having a wonderful year. They have 3 incredibles rookies this year in Hyo Joo, Sei Young and Ha Na, and from what I saw from this tournament, so many more on the horizon. I wish the American future looked half as bright. Why not give Lexi credit and move on? I have always respected you for keeping this sight going, for keeping us informed in areas where its hard to get info. Especially your great pics. I also respect your love for the game (not unlike mine, even if we root for different players). Don't turn into a Stacy......as the host of this board, I hope your better than that. Tony: Don't take what I'm saying below as anything more than a conversation. I'm not remotely annoyed, although it sometimes can seem that way on the internet. So here goes: I don't quite understand your choice of targets here. 3Putt said: "The Koreans and 'fake' Korean should be embarrassed and hand in their AZN cards...they handed Lexi the win. While all other pros were going low....the Koreans stalled... Lexi didn't even putt well for the week."That's far more of a dig at Thompson than anything I said. Yet you completely ignored it. Why? What I said was that Thompson played well, but she was certainly fortunate that Park's putts were stopping on all sides of the edge of the hole without falling, including two putts that were right on line and stopped right in front of the hole as though they had hit velcro. The commentators couldn't believe it after awhile, repeatedly mentioning it. You can think I'm being sour if you want, but to be honest, I was rooting for In Gee, and since she wasn't anywhere near the lead, I didn't have a horse in this one. Here's my take. Part of the fun of sports is to be able to analyze and ruminate about the games/tournaments just ended. Are you saying that any attempt to do this which might seem less than 100% positive and glowing about a champion is sour grapes? Really? I think it's totally legit to analyze wins and decide that some had a bit more good fortune at work than others. All wins are part skill and part luck, just the percentage of each varies from win to win. And I've said it many times about players I love when they win, that they had the blessings of the golf gods or whatever, so it is a bit of a reach to read my comments as a diss on Thompson. Inbee Park in Thailand, 2013 being a prime example: the luckiest win Inbee ever had. And I'm thrilled it happened anyway! Oh, and the reason Lewis' comment was sour grapes was because SHE said it. I actually agree that there was some major luck that helped Feng there, but if you are the victim of that luck, you congratulate the winner and move on with your life. As for not posting any photos of Thompson's win, I actually grabbed all the photos last night before the tournament was finished, and didn't have time to go back this morning before I posted (that's usually how I do it, actually). So I went back just now and here are a couple, m'kay?

I think there's a big difference between a lucky bounce on a bad shot, and a series of putts that miss. It's simple, the missed putts were not well struck, or they would have gone in the hole. You miss one, OK, maybe a little luck would have helped. You miss a series of makeable putts, and it's just not your day. You can drive the ball like a mad women all week, and stick irons to within birdie range, but if you don't sink the putt....

I noticed Solheim USA was pumping up Lexi's win on the twitter. Is this going to be a thing whenever an American wins? Seems kinda weird (and generally uncool) to be partial on regular tour events. Who runs Solheim? Is that the LPGA at all?

It's possible Park could have produced the same score, but instead of barely missing five putts of five foot or less, she could have been missing greens or dealing with uber long putts and scrambling to avoid three putts. If the latter had happened, I would not have said she just missed a win, I would have said she was lucky to finish second. Here, it really felt like the golf gods were not going to let her have this one, even though she seemed to be doing just about everything she needed to do to collect the trophy. In a way, maybe its for the best: she wasn't planning on taking the card even if she earned it. And now she has a bunch of confidence for her career going forward. It was a positive week for her for sure!

Oh, and of course, she only needed ONE of those five 'bad putts' to fall to get into a playoff with Thompson. And not a single one was badly struck; they were either perfectly on line but just short, or just the slightest bit off line and didn't drop. If I'm Park, I wouldn't feel like bad putting cost me; no overhaul of her routine or method is needed!

1) I don't quite understand your choice of targets here. Why? 2) What I said was that Thompson played well, but she was certainly fortunate that Park's putts were stopping on all sides of the edge of the hole without falling, 3) As for not posting any photos of Thompson's win, I actually grabbed all the photos last night before the tournament was finished, and didn't have time to go back this morning before I posted (that's usually how I do it, actually). So I went back just now and here are a couple, m'kay? Happy As I continue to say...you are one of the funniest members on this site with all your backtracking when called out or excuses when a Sista doesn't close it out to win. Assuming I don't have a conflict.....it will be fun meeting you at the 2016 KPMG and being able to stir the pot and raze you in person. You can run....but you can't HIDE from The Smiling Buddha. 1) My comment about Lexi's poor putting was not a dig at Lexi....it was actually a dig at the Koreans, the 'fake' Korean and the other pros that couldn't chase down Lexi even when Lexi wasn't draining putts at the rate most winners do....I believe Lexi had 126 putts for the week. I believe Tony didn't call me out because he interpreted my comment as I intended. Actually a lot of pros were missing short putts all day long....including Ko...who leave some makeable putts short...but you failed to mention Lydia cause she's a 'fake' Korean. I've said it before....IMO....Lydia's flat stick can go cold at times....IMO...she's focusing too much on line employing Aimpoint Express and forgetting pace of putt too. IMO....Lydia should have walked away at the CP CWO with at least 2-3 stroke win..she didn't putt well on the weekend. 2) Actually what you said was....."With all due respect to Thompson, the reason she won is because Park was repeatedly robbed on the back nine." Both Tony and I interpreted your comment as sour grapes and we both viewed it as no different to what Lewis said about Shanshan in the Beijing event in 2013. If you actually respected Lexi....you would have congratulated Lexi on her win and not comment that Park was robbed on a chance to win. 3) Come on Happy stick to your guns...the only reason you're now posting pics of Lexi is that you got called out. If any one goes back into completed tournaments threads in this site.....it's a common theme that when a 'real' Korean wins you'll post a detailed summary with lots of pics of the Sistas....but when a non Korean or 'fake' Korean wins you are generally absent at posting pics of the winner with either limited or no commentary about her win. You'll even bring up Sista's who were irrelevant in an event when a non Korean wins. Case in point.....the Sime Darby two weeks ago on Korda's win...your comments: "I like Korda as a person, congrats to her on the win! But it never ceases to astonish me that she has, what, five wins now? More than So Yeon Ryu. But Ryu has something like twice to three times as many top tens. And it's not like Korda is a great closer, either. I mean, she has been absolutely terrible this season, yet somehow she has a win and Ryu doesn't. It just shows you how much futility poor ol So Yeon has dealt with over the years." Is this not a back handed slight towards Korda?...why even bother to bring up SYR who finished T38 and 16 strokes behind Jess. You also failed to mention a possible explanation of Korda's poor mid season drought because she's been healing an arm/wrist injury. Like I've said.....I luv reading your hot and cold responses based on whether who wins an event...kudos....I appreciate your polar views.....you are so funny

I noticed Solheim USA was pumping up Lexi's win on the twitter. Is this going to be a thing whenever an American wins? Seems kinda weird (and generally uncool) to be partial on regular tour events. Who runs Solheim? Is that the LPGA at all? Classic Merican flag waving.....you mentioned USA Solhiem.....not Solheim....so I'm not surprised about the Merican fanfare/bias. Talk about flag waving....I saw a video ( I can't find it....maybe others will have better luck) of Whan getting all amp'd up bringing the Solheim Cup into the LPGA offices and putting it into some trophy case. Whan is the commissioner (not CEO) of a GLOBAL LPGA tour who represents ALL of the tour....IMO....he should be non-partisan...and this is not the only incidence of his bias towards all things Merican. IMO...they should have waited until Juli came back from the Hana to have her bring the Solheim Cup into the LPGA offices and awarded Suzann a special US flag on her contribution to help the US win the Cup. I believe the rights to the Solheim Cup belongs to the Solhiem family/organization where they seek out the help of the LPGA & LET/LGU to help administer the events. I met a really nice lady who works for the LPGA office at this year's CP CWO who moved to Denver for 2 years to manage and organize the 2013 Solheim Cup....she's now back in another Sr. role for the LPGA organization.

You people are upset because Brooke Henderson is not getting an invite. You will have time to worship her. I care about most players on the LPGA Tour. But don't care to much for Thompson. Huh...so who on this site worships Brooke? So why don't you care for Lexi? Because she digs deep divots with her irons and never stops to repair them. As a person I have no problem liking her.

I've gotta believe Benji is repairing her divots....her divots fly further than some of my drives. They are so deep...you can hide 3 refugees in them. I didn't watch Lexi this year to notice if they were repaired or not...too many new faces to watch. It's really sad how make ball marks I see on the greens....it's pathetic....and many pros shops have free divot tools. I'm generally fixing mine and 3 other ball marks per green. But I guess it's expected when ya play public tracks with a bunch of yahoos and hillbillies.

Another crazy thing I saw was a golf ad that had a flasher in a park open his coat to show a young lady the golf clubs he had under his coat. Anybody else see this ad? Korean TV feed.

Regarding divots, I played McCullough's Emerald Golf Links for the first and last time in 2009. I couldn't believe the huge number of divot chunks littering the fairways. Maybe they had a policy there of only filling the holes with seed/sand...I was pulling my own hand cart so I had no sand bottle...I just replaced replaced the turf when I made a hole. That place doesn't drain well...I hit a blind drive over a hill...when I got to the top, I was shocked to see that my ball had just barely cleared a massive pool of standing water.

Phil They have a thread on WRX dedicated to dog tracks...some of the pics are hilarious.
If you want to come play in muck...come to Van City....Nov to mid April.....I'm just starting to play lift, clean and CHEAT on some courses....even though we had a water restriction for 3 months over the summer. I've had mud balls in mid June here.

Yeah, I saw that one w/ the towel drop too. Overall it's very fun to watch the Korean feed. I think it was Callaway on the flasher ad. I could be wrong about that. Bizarre marketing behavior from whomever it was.

ClicGear sells a sand/seed mix bottle that comes with a universal mount. I have one on my pushcart, and fill my divots....along with dozens of others. Sheesh. Few courses have sand/seed mix near the first tee, so I usually have to "steal" some off a nearby electric cart. If courses want the divots filled, they should make it easier.
