I'm not counting out Jeeno, she's always poised to score low on the final day.
Charley Hull improved to +8, maybe someone gave her a cigarette.

Celine may run away with it (as I predicted correctly for once) but those other medal spots will be up for grabs. Vamos Uribe! Amy is only 2 shots off the podium after r1. I watched Morgane Metraux at the USWO qualifier. It would be a pip if she managed to metal. But I agree with Phil in that she will move down the leaderboard. I was unaware that the tournament started on Wednesday until Tuesday and today I was surprised that they didn't re-pair the field. I was expecting to see a lot of Celine in the last two hours of live broadcast. The feelgood story is Mariajo Uribe of Colombia. She will be retiring after this ends. The two Finnish players were the last players entered and their play reflects that. If any player finishes worse than a Finn, they should switch to AIN. I totally endorse this sentiment! Imagine the joy and celebration in Bucaramanga/Floridablanca if MarÃajo finishes with a medal...

I think the final day will be very exciting. There's so much jeopardy (aka water) towards the end of the back 9. I still can't see a sister being in the mix for medals but I expect around 6 players to be in the mix with 4 holes to play. My prediction of a GB/Ireland medallist is for the birds - I'm not sure what's up with Leona but she's rivalling the Finnish players for embarrassing scores. Charley's at least applied herself in rounds 2 and 3.

I have attended the tournament and will attend tomorrow. I saw many men tournaments on this golf course (World Amator with T.Woods in 1994, the French open, the Ryder cup ..) and have been waiting for years for a big women championship. Ask Bubba Waston what he is thinking about the golf course. He blew up last time he played it. Don't know if they have prepared the golf course like a major but the rough is quite thick and with all the water we never know what can happen. FYI the 18 is a par 5 for the women and was a par 4 for the men.

The golf course is pretty unique. It was designed like a stadium. There is always an eleveted place where you can see the players

Prior to the event, who would have anticipated medals going to perennial golf powerhouses like Switzerland, Colombia, Slovenia, and the Philippines?
Slovenia and Philippines probably out after struggles in round 3.
Go Amy! You are the Sisters' hope...

Jin Young Ko and Hyo Joo Kim are paired together. Maybe they will compare notes about what went wrong and give it their best effort the Final Round.

I'm still sticking with my prediction from yesterday. Might not be in that order, but those will be the medalists. Yin, Korda, Lydia. For the Sisters, I predict: Jin Young will get off to a great start, possibly even birdie the first three holes. And that will be it. Nothing more exciting will happen the rest of the day. She'll shoot 69 and finish the week at even par. Hyo Joo will be par most of the day with occasional birdie and bogey. 71. Amy will have a decent day and get herself into the hunt for bronze on the back nine. With two or three holes left, she will make a major mistake and break my heart. There has to be a close call to make it extra painful, the golf gods are not going to let the Korean fans off the hook that easily. Karnac the Magnificent has spoken.

The Women's high jump is always fun to watch. I swear every contestant is tall and lanky and really attractive, like watching a bunch of models competing. Included in the final 12 was Vashti Cunningham, the daughter of football great Randall Cunningham and probably a mom who was an ex-model judging by her looks. Alas, she didn't end up with a medal. This year the two best jumpers were an Australian named Nicola Olyslagers and a Ukrainian named Yaroslava Mahuchikh. They both have interesting ways of preparing for jumps. Olyslagers always has a huge smile on her face just before each jump, as if she is using positive vibes to power her efforts. She also sometimes starts singing, although she doesn't usually remember the song she is singing afterwards (!). After each jump, she goes off and sits on a matt and writes in a journal. What the heck is she writing? It seems to help her relax. Meanwhile, Mahuchikh, who looks a little like Brooke Shields, was the heavy favorite (and world record holder) and didn't even do her first jump until well into the contest. After each jump, she folds herself into a sleeping bag and takes a power nap (!). Right there on the field. In the end, Mahuchikh won the gold medal, Olyslagers the silver, and another Ukrainian named Iryna Gerashchenko tied with another Aussie named Eleanor Patterson for the bronze. It was Ukraine's first gold of the games.

The shoe man at Getty is at it again, but he has a valid reason here ... Buhai busted a toe and had to make room for it.

Ye Ji Kim, the Korean sharp shooter who won a silver medal and whose cool eyewear and approach to shooting caused her to go viral, collapsed at a press conference in Korea. Emergency crews were called in and after a few minutes she was revived, but no further details as to her current condition have been released. Hope she will recover quickly!

Nelly and Celine in the same group. The galleries for this group are comparable to the Ryder Cup.

Lydia suddenly has a 3 shot lead after 8 holes. Others around her are stumbling.
