Scheffler gets gold after a final round 62. Well done to Tommy Fleetwood on getting silver. That was easily the most exciting mens event of the year (from the few I've seen). Rahm threw it away.

I watched a bit of it, too. This could be a dangerous course for the ladies. Rory put one in the drink late to blow his chances at a medal, and I think Tom Kim put one in the water on 18? Keeping dry and in the fairway is going to be a priority for the women.

The Korean women archers continued their brilliance. Sihyeon Lim teamed up with top male archer Woojin Kim to run to the gold in the mixed team event. I watched it a few days ago, but I recall only one match where they were really challenged, against Taiwan. But they rose to the challenge when they needed to and advanced. Then came the women's individual competition, and it was an incredible display of Korean mastery. All three of the Korean team made it to the final four (!!), with the fourth player being a French woman. There were a few challenges. Top seed Lim faced a tough test from Mexican archer Alexandra Valencia in the quarterfinal. Their first set was the only perfect set I saw, with both shooting 3 tens to tie. They tied the second one as well, then Valencia won the third. Lim's back against the wall, she shot a 29 to barely hold off Valencia, who shot 28. All tied, Lim shot 10-9-10 in the deciding set to slam the door. The crowd went CRAZY. It was one of the most exciting sporting events I've seen this year. It was thrilling when Lim NAILED that final ten to clinch it. Anyways, the French woman Lisa Barbelin had astounded everyone to become the first from her country to reach the medal round. She went against the second seeded Korean Nam Su Hyeon in the semis. Nam, just 19, is only ranked 61st in the world, but boy, she won't be for long. The crowd was going nuts trying to root Barbelin on, but Nam absolutely dominated her in straight sets, advancing to the gold medal match. Lim then beat the third Korean, Jeon Hunyoung, to set up a battle between the #1 and #2 seeds for the gold. Jeon, who is 31, played for bronze against Barbelin. It went down to the last arrow, with Barbelin denying a Korean medal sweep to grab bronze in front of her home country fans. The Lim-Nam battle was impressive, but Lim, 21 years old to Nam's 19, pretty much dominated, and the gold was hers, her third gold of the games. One newspaper printed a photo of a theoretical statue to Lim to be placed outside Les Invalides, the location of the archery venue, posted by the Paris Olympic committee. I'd be up for them to erect that.

I couldn't figure out that "TVer" website for streaming the men's golf ... probably geo-blocked. For the women, try one of the NHK channels at Aqstream, it might work ... just get up at 3 AM EST.

Interestingly, Amy and Jin Young swapped places in the world rankings this week, so it's the first time in a looooong time where Jin Young wasn't the top ranked Korean. Motivation?

I would think the nationals to be on the Korean archery team is more challenging than the Olympics themselves.

Maybe Celine has been saving herself for this event all year and will show up. Either her or Lyds to win and complete the trifecta. And I'm rooting for Gina's college buddy Ana Belac 🇸🇮

So many potential winners. If it's Korea for gold it has to be Amy Yang. With my UK hat on it's Charley or Georgia for a medal - us Brits like to do well at the Olympics so expect a podium from one of these 2 or else Leona Maguire. Equally Lydia to get gold and complete the set has a nice ring to it. Celine in front of her home fans would be a good story. But I wonder if Scottie getting gold will inspire Nelly or Lilia to do the double for the US at this Olympics.

Voodoo's bag ... is Srixon new for her? I can't remember at all what she has played before ... now I'll have to look it up.

Okay, Voodoo has had Srixon irons going back to at least Portland in 2022 ... however, after eyeballing a Getty pic at 500% magnification, I can report that she was gaming Fourteen Golf TC777 Forged irons at the 2018 Curtis Cup in Scarsdale, NY. I didn't go to that one ... didn't miss much, the USA massacred GB&I.

I've checked several sources and have not found a pic of Aditi the Road Warrior ... somebody go check the bag carousel at CDG.

Looks like ROK will have to depend upon the ultimate survivor HoJo if the early scoring is a true indicator.
