Co-leader Amy Yang! Amy's game seems to be a great fit for this course. Narrow fairways for a straight hitter. But correct me if I'm wrong... I'm not the biggest expert on the game. I had heard of an "albatross" to mean a double eagle or a score of minus-3 on a single hole. But before Phil's post earlier tonight regarding Six, I'd never heard of the term "ostrich egg" to describe a round of plus+8. Does that make Nelly's plus+9 a "double ostrich egg..."

Credit where it's due: Hye Jin Choi had a very nifty 70 today. We've spent a lot of time criticizing her lately, let's give her some props, too!

Some sisters in the mix! I like this course, reminds me of my local courses here in Berkshire (that’s BARK-shire) with lots of pine trees

MHL slogged her way to the weekend again 👍 ... hasn't trunk-slammed since The Mannika last November. I'd post a pic of her from Friday, but I can't find any.
*************
The link above has a video of Shibuno Fever making a few big putts on Friday. She caught a break being in the last group Saturday without the LEXI(tm) circus distracting her.

Experienced looper available for loan-out during week of August 5-11 ... inquire at Salahee parking lot on Saturday.

I watched Golf Central and couldn't believe how TOTALLY Korda/Thompson centric it was. Yeah, it's a big story that Korda missed the cut and played like crap, but it was the ONLY story for like ten minutes. When they were finally done with that, they talked about Thompson for five minutes, showed an endless press conference with her, then they were done. I think there may have been one Amy Yang highlight squeezed in there. I don't recall anything about Jin Young.
Particularly funny was how they praised Nelly for talking to Beth Ann for 30 seconds to basically grumble about her round. "It was very brave of her to comment". Really? I thought they were required to face the media as part of their job? Did she not do a press conference afterwards? I'll admit I've always found it strange that they parade them in front of the media after they just crapped the bed, but it is pretty common that they do that, so a passing shout to Beth as she was walking to the car doesn't quite suffice?

On the JLPGA website, Miyuu Yamashita is the spelling for the player in this event. However, Wikipedia, the LPGA leader board and KPMG leader board spell it Miyu Yamashita. So, why does she have an extra "u" in Japan? I might have stumbled over the answer ... while looking her up in Wikipedia, I came across this pro wrestler:
As for Miyuu Yamashita, here's her track record in the last four LPGA majors ... see a pattern?
2023 Evian T-48
2023 AIGWO T-21
2024 Chevron T-17
2024 USWO T-12

Jin Young Ko didn't play too bad, just didn't have a lot of luck on her putts. Four back she still has a chance to still a win.
I really don't know about Amy Yang if someone behind her get hot. Don't know why she took so much time reading the putt on eighteen. It was straight forward hit it straight into the hole with a little pace.
Hae Ran Ryu took off on the front nine with three birdies but went in reverse on the back nine.
I wonder if Miyuu Yamashita is wondering if she should take the LPGA invite if she wins. She is the best golfer in the top ten on the Leaderboard.

Haeji Kang bombed out Friday night ... her seventh trunk slam in nine starts for 2024.
Was she injured in 2023? After a bad start, she made five cuts in six starts from Shoprite thru Dow GL, but didn't play a lick after that.
I'm an old-time Haeji watcher going way back ... includes the match play at Hamilton Farm, so that's 12+ years ago and I probably saw her before that.
This Thursday pic caption is a news item, but I'm not buying it.
