You people in Seattle are getting rooked this year ... last year at Baltusrol, you could buy a ticket for the Wednesday practice round, but the public is banned from practice rounds in 2024.
This event used the AXS ticket app last year, but they switched to Seatgeek, which is appears to be the LPGA vendor of choice in 2024. Both apps have extortionate add-on fees, although AXS was not as bad with the 2024 USWO tickets.

Voodoo won Meijer today and since she was already in the field, Cydney Clanton moved up the #156 spot ... Muni is the new first alternate.

AXS are slumlords
No KLPGAers via Rolex exemption are entered, it's only a 10.5 hour flight to Seattle 🙄 c'mon ladies. Jiyai is making the trek at least, for one last grasp to make the Olympics team as main motivation.
AP did not make the cut off so she is playing Epson, but her playing partner for Dow - Alexandra the Great Fosterling is in - so I'll be rooting for her the most (besides the sisters of course)

I had heard Bang was going to be there? I guess not, huh?
We can't have practice round access either? We actually have a holiday on Wednesday so it would have been fun to go then. I guess I should check the website to see what I would be in for if I buy tickets early.

The only sisters entered via rolex exemption priority as of today are Jiyai and Jin Hee Im - quite a few Japanese players & MeYou via Order of Merit

My field rating for this event is a spectacular 90%, up from 85% last year. This is the highest field rating for any event in the last decade. For a field rating to be this high we have to have no injuries to top top ranked players and we have to have key players from other tours teeing it up. My field breakdown is 93% from the LPGA Priority List and 87% from the Rolex World Rankings. Every player in the Rolex Rankings top 40 will be teeing it up with the exception of non-LPGA player Ye Won Lee.
Other stuff: Xiyu Lin missed the cut at the Meijer LPGA Classic last week, putting an end to her streak of nineteen consecutive cuts made. Ayaka Furue registered her eighth top ten of the year, no other player on tour has more. Lilia Vu's victory at the Meijer las week was the ninth this year for an American player. As we have just hit the halfway point of the season, that is a tremendous accomplishment. In fact, all other countries combined have just six wins. Gabriella Ruffles increases her lead in the very tightly contested Louise Suggs Rookie of the Year race. She now has 397 points. Jin Hee Im is still a very close second with 376.
Rolex Rankings (LPGA players): Lilia Vu remained number two in the Rolex Rankings with her win last week. She is nowhere near close to Nelly Korda at number one, but has increased her lead over Ruoning Yin for third place. For Nelly, she has been at the top for thirteen consecutive weeks and now has spent fifty weeks on top in her career. Ally Ewing moves up from 24 to 19, as this coming week is the last chance she has to move into the top 15 to secure an Olympic spot. The Olympic cutoff is after this tournament. Lexi Thompson catapults up from 60 to 39. Grace Kim surges from 86 to 69. Narin An climbs from 78 to 71. Ryann O'Toole improves from 81 to 74. Alexa Pano advances from 96 to 89. Outside the top 100: Hira Naveed jumps from 113 to 103 Vongtaveelap Natthakritta rises from 145 to 127. Nataliya Guseva springs up from 173 to 160. Paula Reto surges from 209 to 189.

Interesting story (above) ... per Google mush, Mone Inami returned to Japan after her fourth straight trunk slam (USWO) to figure out what went wrong with her swing and adjust her gear accordingly. When she returned to the U.S. for this tournament ...
... she was hit by an unexpected problem. "Only the head of the driver was "stolen"..." After taking it out of her checked baggage after arriving and removing the head cover, only the shaft was left.
Of course, I contacted the airline, but as of Tuesday the 18th, it was still missing. Apparently there was a sticker indicating that it had been inspected, and she said with a gloomy expression, "Maybe it was taken away..." The missing head was a TaylorMade "Qi10 LS". It was her immovable "ace" that she has been using since participating in the US tour in January. The day before, I was unable to arrange for a spare in time, so I used my 3W to check out the course. I managed to try out the only one that was brought to me at the practice range, but "I don't think there are many heads that are the same (due to individual differences)..." I continue to make desperate adjustments while communicating with the local manufacturer staff.

Yuri is hanging out on the premises this week ... as the #3 alternate, she has no chance of getting in, unless an epidemic breaks out (similar to what happened at Mizuho).

I wish I could get a close up look at her practice by actually being allowed to go to the practice, but... this will have to do.

Christie Kerr must have put in a seniority request, she is paired with Bay Area rivals Yealimi and Lucy Li.

They have some stupid rules this year. Apparently we are not allowed to bring backpacks or cinch bags. I think the max bag size is 10" x 10". So I need to figure out how to bring my usual supplies with me (sunscreen, water, snacks, spare jacket, etc) in a small, hard to carry bag. And if they reject your bag, you have to throw it out; there is nowhere to store it while on the premises (or go back to your car, which is a long shuttle ride both ways).
Also, with In Gee gone, my main interest would be Jin Young, but they decided to pair her with Thompson of all people. I'm not sure I want to put up with the Thompson farewell tour crowd, so if I go during the week, I might end up not following her then.

I would think so, Lucy is trending downward missing 4 out of her last 5 cuts, Yealimi has been more steady overall.

I'm also irritated that not a single KLPGA star showed up. I mean, you aren't going to get a much more Korea-friendly location in the States than here. Besides a large Korean population and tons of eateries, we are also closer to Korea than most places in the States. Does the JLPGA encourage their stars to play these things? The KLPGA should definitely do more to get them over here; it helps their brand.

Min Ji, Yewon, Su Ji should be in attendance.

Evian is beautiful, but also not very Asia friendly compared to here. We have a huge H-Mart and Paldo World within ten miles of the course and multiple Korea-town areas. Plus Sahalee is pretty gorgeous in its own right, and this is the time of year when the weather is nicest; it's better than being stuck in some wheat field somewhere with just a few strip malls nearby, like sometimes happens with this event if the course is in a less ideal location.
