Another annoying thing was that he kept repeating that Im was 49th in the world as if to suggest 'so therefore she's not really that good'. What a turd move that was. If a player of Im's caliber is only 49th in the world, isn't that an indictment of the weighting the Rolex rankings use that ends up underrating her, rather than a comment on her skill?

There's no way they would besmirch Rose Zhang on live TV 😂

Unfortunately, Yealimi is still on the waiting list for Mizuho Americas Open; unless the first reshuffle takes place before the tournament.

Something that I don't remember seeing before in a Final Round, A Lim Kim was the only Korean golfer even par or better at minus one. Still a shout out to three in the top ten, Hae Ran Ryu solo fifth, Jin Hee Im first LPGA Major solo eighth. A Lim Kim minus one got her into the top ten, overall, not bad at all. https://www.instagram.com/p/C6AQe64t8Lw

https://www.instagram.com/p/C6CnCsPNINP Congratulation to Nelly Korda for her Major Tournament win. With all the great players in the top ten heading into the Final Round. I thought they would put up a better challenge to her but it didn't happen. But it doesn't take anything away from her win.

What really pleasing me is that Yealimi has now outlearned Lucy Li in 2024 official money; Yealimi is up to $181,935 and inside Top-30.

I would have liked to have seen her eagle on 8 and subsequent gloating to the fans. Oh well 😑

Congratulations to Nelly Korda, winner of the 2024 Chevron Championship, her fifth consecutive tour victory. This was a feat last accomplished in 2004-05. Cue all the four-year-old girls telling their fathers, "Daddy, Nelly Korda ALWAYS wins!"
Congrats to Hae Ran, Jin Hee, and A Lim on top ten finishes. Congrats to Lauren Coughlin on her best ever career finish, and in a major no less!
Back to LA. Bet that we'll see some sisters posing inside large pipes, don't you think?

Congrats to Korda, getting five wins in a row is pretty impressive. Now please cut it out and give someone else a chance to win! What's frustrating is that Hae Ran was right there. She started the day at 11 under and Korda didn't run away with this thing. If Hae Ran had played up to the level of earlier in the week, it might have been hers. Oh well, someday a Sister is going to hoist a trophy again. But they have to learn how to play on Sunday. None of the Sisters had their best in the final round, and that is not going to get the job done. Im, Hae Ran and others will get there, they just need a little more experience. It's not like they haven't won before.

My MSU Spartans have somehow put together some strong women's golfers using a South American connection to Bucaramanga and Floridablanca, Colombia. That seems to be the one region in Colombia where golf is important. I think that we have a strong Brazilian too, Phil will remind me...
Hope that you're enjoying NJ... I used to live in Philly metro area which claims south Jersey... MSU has a great basketball program (as you know) though Tom Izzo has done nada for a hot minute now. Off hand I can only think of Valery Plata - glad to see her win on Epson earlier this year, should propel her confidence big time in the short term. NJ is alright, I'm in Hoboken. I'll make my summer casino trip over to AC around ShopRite time and quick Uber down to next door Galloway. Izzo has lost most of his mojo (don't say that in front of my wife, she worships him, they share the same birthdate though he is five years older.) Don't know if he's figured out what to do in the NIL era. But even now he still manages to be competitive, doesn't win championships but competes. Doesn't lose to 16 seeds in the tournament like Matt Painter... What many people don't know is that his selection to advance to head coach from assistant when the great Jud Heathcote retired in the mid 90s was met with indifference at best, at worst, "Why didn't we hire a successful head coach instead of this young unproven assistant?"
Plata is the MSU golfer that I was mainly thinking of. I cheered for Valery so much last year and I think that she only made one cut all year. I considered her a protege of Mariajo Uribe who was from the same small metro area in Colombia. Uribe was a Bruin, I believe? (No offense intended to the Trojans...) Hope that Valery's current success in Epson represents an advance in her game to be competitive on the LPGA next year...
Have you considered attending the USWO in Lancaster, PA? Phil will tell you how to get there from NJ without paying a single toll! Just as I used to do when I lived in the Philly metro area back in the 90s... Only one thing I ask, since you're from the west coast, please pronounce it as the locals do, not how 95+ percent of Americans do. The locals say "LANK-uh-ster," not "Lang-CAS-ter" as nearly all Americans say. When I lived in the Philly suburbs, my street was one block off of "LANK-uh-ster" Pike...
