Amy got it to 5 under this morning but is in the process of giving it all back. Too bad, she could use a good week here. Still time to right the ship.

So I looked it up this morning. Lotte World was born in January, 2004 (so she's three months older than Inbee was when she won the US Women's Open the first time). Shin Sil Bang was born in September, 2004; she is more than half a year younger. But everyone is losing their minds over Woad, while Bang, who yesterday tied the all-time lowest round on this course since it became a Major, got no mention whatsoever on Golf Central. Oh yeah, and this is Bang's first pro event in America.
How ridiculous was it? They showed the first page of the leaderboard after two rounds, and showed from the top players to four of the five people tied at 5 under. Guess who they omitted? Then they had 'notables' including Woad and Lydia, who were t-10th. So literally, they showed every top player except Bang. That's some next level dissing right there.
Well, whatever she does the rest of the week, she impressed me, anyways. Go get 'em, Shin Sil!

I guess since South Korea only gets Golf Channel feed.
They don't want to focus too much on Korean Golfers to discourage the KLPGA golfers who may want to come over.

Hmmm, I started watching on Peacock. They've dumbed the course down, I see. Last night someone saw three Koreans on the leaderboard and panicked. Tom just used the dreaded phrase 'they've set the course up for excitement'.

They finally showed Shin Sil on the 8th; iron in as her second shot on the par 5 and well longer than Hae Ran. Give them credit: They pronounced her name correctly! It's 'Bahng", not Bang, as much fun as it would be to pronounce it the second way.  |

Then the good news was Jin Hee was the first live golfer shown... the bad news was that she was hitting out of a bunker...
Then to Brooke birdieing 13 to take the solo lead...

Fashion update today: Hae Ran, the big new Ryu, all in dark. Jin Hee pulling off a nearly monochromatic look with beige/tan. (Wife informed me that her top has a bit more yellow than her pants.) Thitikul's pants almost a color match with Jin Hee but a bit darker, shading toward brown, white shirt.

Checking the dumbing down of the course on the current leaderboard during the rain suspension:
The only player who is over par in the entire top 20 and ties today is Shin Sil Bang, and she's +1. There are only three players over par in the top 40.
C'mon guys, this is a Major. What are you doing?
