I just noticed Hyo Joo did not make the cut, which is surprising but not alarming. She wasn't the only high profile player to do so this week.
Yealimi was scuffling a bit, so the break should do her some good tomorrow + it should only be a benefit her as one of the more younger and fitter players in the mix!

This was a heck of a putt from Jin Hee Im: https://www.instagram.com/p/C6AHVQOMes4 Hae Ran Ryu hit a superlative chip on 8 from the fringe to within six inches of the hole; the crowd gasped and cheered. Then the rains came... Looks like it will be a long day tomorrow, although it's possible there will be more bad weather Sunday. Jin Hee and Hae Ran are still well positioned to grab this, and I'm hoping one of them can do it and at last end the long Korean Major drought. A Lim Kim and Shin Sil Bang at 4 under can make a run, too, if their putters start working. Jiyai Shin is in great position to nab a top ten and a ticket to Paris. It's interesting that almost all the Korean names on the leaderboard are either very recent arrivals from the KLPGA (Im, An, Ryu, A Lim) or current players from those tours (Shin, Bang). Win or lose, I want most of all to see the Sisters stay in this until the end. There's been some great golf from them in the past couple days; here's hoping the fun continues! And I wouldn't be at all sad if one of them got to take the pond plunge. Hwaiting!

... It's such a cop out to highlight "ONE" moment of the game where it was lost. Any high level athlete will tell you there are 100s of moments and split second decisions leading up that could have prevented it from happening in the first place! Poor Cubs fan Steve Bartman suffered the most, scapegoating 101. I'm a Chicago native, lifelong Cubs fan. My father was a lifelong Cubs fan who died at the age of 84 never experiencing a World Series championship. I finally got one in 2016, after 1969 when Cubs blew 8.5 game lead after mid-August, the "ONE MOMENT" that year was the 'black cat incident.' 1984, Cubs on the verge of winning NLCS 4-2 vs Padres when the ground ball rolled between Leon Durham's legs (the "ONE MOMENT") in game 6 of NLCS. More flops in 1989 and 1998. Then 2003...
What happened to Bartman was nearly criminal. Thankfully social media had not yet become a thing; today, things would have been even worse for him. I used to be asked about Bartman on occasion when I told people that I was a Cubs fan. "Do you think Steve Bartman cost the Cubs the championship?" My answer was and is always, no, there was a foul ball hit into the stands. Maybe if the Cubs SS had not made an error on what appeared to be a sure double play ball to end the inning a few batters later, then Florida would not have scored 8 runs in the inning.
"To recompense Bartman for his treatment, the Cubs sent him a championship ring after the team's victory in the 2016 World Series 13 years later."

I’m flying from Lima to Cusco this morning and then driving to Urubamba in the Sacred Valley. I’ll check the TV channels upon arrival. Great to see so many sisters in the mix. I’ve a hunch Jiyai Shin will enjoy the British weather conditions today.

Marathon golf today - Hae Ran now tied for the lead! Will the Korda bus run out of gas?
Hopefully if one of the sisters wins, they quote Michael Jordan re the golf digest article during the presser - "and i took that personally."

When the LPGA Twitter account posted that the 3rd round was postponed for the day, naturally, some wag replied that it was sunny and clear in Palm Springs.
Hae Ran Ryu didn't appear to be affected by the delay at all. Jin Hee was up and down and up.

If Hae Ran (or any Korean) wins, look for Internet blowback not seen since So Yeon "stole" the Dinah from Cheating Lexi.

Yealim gets to play with Old Ko in round 4, what a great experience!
3 of my favorites (A Lim, Awesome Kim, and Gabi) are playing together but will likely see 0 coverage of them. 😑
Katsu has been playing great golf as well too, I wouldn't count her out.

Nice rally by Hae Ran to get the lead after round 3. So, if for some reason the weather makes finishing the 4th round impossible, how long will they extend this until they get everything done? Because if they cancel the fourth round, Hae Ran has the trophy as the third round leader, and you know they will move heaven and Earth to prevent the Nelly story from ending like that.
I actually feel like Im is in a better position. Close enough to make a run and she doesn't have to deal with the circus that must surround Korda and Henderson. But if either Jin Hee or Hae Ran manages to pull this off, at least this American is going to be incredibly happy. Hwaiting!!
Sorry to see Bang slipping. She had a great chance for at least a top ten but has not played well today. Still, it's great experience, and I hope she gives it another shot later this year, when I think she'll be even more ready to contend.

Weiwei is out playing Ko and Yealim so far, didn't have that on my bingo card.
LC bogeyd many par 5s since her hot start, otherwise she would be up there too. I like her demeanor overall and she has a nice personality in the pressers.
Hae Ran slow start but plenty of holes remaining!

Somehow Korda is three up all of a sudden, and since she never makes a mistake ever, it's looking grim. I'm pretty much assuming she's going to win like I have been since the beginning, but one thing is that the pressure gets harder on the back nine of a Major, and Korda hasn't won one of these in a long time, so if the Sisters can just stay in the same zip code, they still have a chance. Korda is so overdue a bad round. No one plays great every time.
A Lim just made an eagle by the way. Moved to five under.
Go Hae Ran and Jin Hee!!!!!!

Hang in there, Jin Hee and Hae Ran! You can do it... Obviously Nelly is in the driver's seat, but beware of Ciganda. I would have said Thitikul too, never count out the Thais, but she's going the wrong way so far.

Agree with many comments above, the talk about Jin Hee Im during the broadcast is very disrespectful - this is what, her 4th or 5th event in the States? Where is Grant Boone when you need him!
Come on Yealimi get your 2nd top 10 in a major!

By about the 8th hole I gave up any chance of the Sisters making a run, so I just watched to see if they could produce some good golf. When they started making bogies on the back nine, I gave up.
I got to the 13th hole before bailing, but to be honest, once again a Sister had no realistic chance of winning right from the start of the coverage. The commenting was just too much. "How can Im be playing so well when she hasn't in her first four events?' Do you know anything, Tom? She's a rookie playing in a completely different country with all the adjustments she has to deal with. How is it hard to understand that she'll have ups and downs!? And the wholesale dismissal of her record on the KLPGA is also infuriating. She didn't just fall off the turnip truck, she's a proven winner. This is why they really need an Asian commentator who could call BS on that right away.
Plus they insisted on replaying every fricking shot Korda hit. It doesn't get less boring the second time and in slow motion!
Anyhoo, there were still some positives this week. Although we once again had HappyFan's Rule in effect: "If multiple Koreans are in contention, one other player will be unbeatable so they can't win", I still am proud of Jin Hee Im for her brilliant putting, Hae Ran Ryu for some memorable shots (even today, that unlikely birdie on the 9th hole), and Shin Sil Bang for shooting a 65 BEFORE they dumbed the course down. It was a long, tough Sunday; both Im and Ryu had to deal with obnoxious fans walking off once Korda was done (they both played with her today at different times); and both can hold their heads up high. Hwaiting!
