My aside about a Korean American winner almost came true. Banner result for the diaspora. Shout out to late bloomer Lauren Coughlin. At 31 years of age, it's only her sixth year on tour. She made her second top ten here making her second overall this season. She had only one top ten in her first five seasons. Her year-to-date earnings are almost half of her career earnings and she's playing the next two Asian events so that total will only go up. I second your shout out to Lauren, and will add another shout out to Sarah Schmelzel who finished T16, two strokes behind Lauren. Neither is a big or well-known name but both of them keep competing and I wish them success.

Hot Six's final round press transcript:
Q. What a way to finish the final day last year in Korea. How are you feeling here of the four days at the BMW Ladies Championship?
JEONGEUN LEE6: So this is my first top 10 this year so I am extremely satisfied with the way I played in the first two and the final round. I am happy that I shot in the 60s. It's a little bit unfortunate that I shot one over yesterday on my third round but this is the best performance for he me this year, so I'm happy.
Q. What does it mean to you to see your game clicking this way?
JEONGEUN LEE6: I think my swing is becoming really stable, and I am hitting well, and so I think I've gained a lot of confidence about that in particular after this championship.
Q. What are you hoping to take away from this week and being a sponsor invite in your home?
JEONGEUN LEE6: So I've been shooting well and I'm really satisfied with my short game, and so I think in the remaining events, I'm going to try to hone in on and sort of refine my backswing and downswing. I think as you mentioned, I was a sponsor invite and I got to play in this event which I would otherwise not have been able to. So I'm really grateful for the opportunity and I'm extremely happy that I got in the top 10.
Q. What's the difference in playing overseas and playing here in Korea?
JEONGEUN LEE6: It's super fun to be able to play in front of the fans, and it's just different when you birdie a hole without any cheering. If you birdie a hole with lots of people cheering you on, that gives you a lot of strength. It was really fun, and my fan club, Lucky 6, came out and cheered me on, so it was a lot of fun.

후루에 아야카 ... first time I've seen her name in Korean letters ... I think the locals say it "Hoo-roo-ay Ah-ya-ka", as opposed to "Eye-ya-kee Fur-oo" in Grand Rapids, MI.
Yes, Google Translate handled her name perfectly, 후루에 아야카 came out as Ayaka Furue, with the phonetics as you indicated, Phil! And I didn't even have to turn off my location tracking... was slightly worried that Google would recognize a query from SW Michigan and produce the local 'dialect' but the AI must not be that advanced yet...
I'm somewhat disappointed that Translate now gives "Anna Lin" for Narin An 안나 린. It used to correctly spell the English transliteration as "Anna Lynn."
