For the second night in a row (night for me in EDT or GMT-4, it's daytime in ROK) Six is leading the sisters through the 11th, along with Hyo Joo and Hae Ran. Sisters!

Six on a roll. Keep that up and could win this tournament or at least qualify for CME.

Round 2 I might have to tune in on Peacock tomorrow; I want to wait to see it on Golf Channel, but the tape delay is RIDICULOUS. Anyways, nice second round by Six; in much harder conditions she shot the same score as on day one, a 68, and is just three back. Interesting leaderboard: you have the kyopos like Minjee Lee, Alison Lee and Lydia. Then the Koreans like Six and Hae Ran, tied for 4th three back. Only Buhai is not ethnically Korean in the top six. A few to watch for at 5 under: A Lim, Hyo Joo and Jenny Shin. Jiyai is seven back, but she's Jiyai, so she's still not out of it. In Gee has the fans but is in her usual spot, t-34th. Jin Young had a nicer day two; it would have been a 68 (and thus tied for round of the day) but for a bogey on the final hole. Hopefully she can really go crazy on the weekend and put up a decent showing. Sisters hwaiting!

On the clip about Jenny. She readily said she doesn't usually get that excited about a birdie on 18. But she had some side action with Angel Yin during the round and she did not lose after that putt.

Shin might win more tournaments if she carried a flask. The others did nothing during the shutdown. Jtibs entertained the fans time after time. It's a mystery why she doesn't win 3 times a year. But there's still all the time in the world.

Round 2 I might have to tune in on Peacock tomorrow; I want to wait to see it on Golf Channel, but the tape delay is RIDICULOUS.I don't even turn it on. The thrill of watching any sporting event is not knowing what will happen in the competition. If I know what the results are, nearly twelve hours before the telecast, then the delayed telecast seems like an exhibition, a scripted event. Round 2 Anyways, nice second round by Six; in much harder conditions she shot the same score as on day one, a 68, and is just three back. Interesting leaderboard: you have the kyopos like Minjee Lee, Alison Lee and Lydia. Then the Koreans like Six and Hae Ran, tied for 4th three back. Only Buhai is not ethnically Korean in the top six. When I saw the top of the leaderboard, my first thought was, "Where's Haney? Where's (the real) Hank Haney when we need him?"
"Who you picking this weekend, Hank?"

Wow, this event really went into the toilet fast. Oh well. There's still an outside chance that Jiyai might be able to do something tomorrow. Great day for her, and she seems to be close enough to make some noise. And she is Jiyai; nobody has won more often in Korea than she has. But otherwise, I just hope we can get a few Sisters in the top ten. Hwaiting!

Round 3 Typical 2023 week for the Koreans alas, which is especially disappointing given that they are at home, these are the types of courses most of these gals grew up on, and they are surrounded by fans cheering them on. But as we've seen too often this year, the top two Korean are a player who doesn't even play in Korea most of the time and an amateur I've never heard of. Hee Young Park, who is semi-retired, outplayed Hyo Joo and Jin Young Ko. Jiyai keeps hanging in there and without question can steal this. It feels like she's due after her near misses at several Majors this year. Six had a dicey third round, one of the few on the leaderboard who was over par today, but she is definitely on the upswing. I'm still waiting for that magic round from the lady who holds the all-time scoring record on the KLPGA. Nothing would make me happier than to see her finally get off the that long awaited second win, but even her first top ten of the year would be a nice consolation prize. Go Six! Hae Ran had one of her worst rounds of the year, but the plus side is that she's still tied or ahead of her biggest rookie rivals. Meanwhile, In Gee and Hee Young had surprisingly strong days, and Hye Jin matched them, all with 69s. Jin Young keeps plugging away at a slow pace, so even a top ten is probably out of the question at this point. But I hope she can shake off the lethargy and produce at least one great round to send her into the rest of the year on an up note. Hyo Joo's momentum has stalled but so far she's had an OK week as well. Let's send the fans out happy tomorrow. Hwaiting!

Who is Seo Jin Park? She is a 15-year old who has had little experience on big stages thus far. She took a photo with Hyo Joo Kim after her second round, and Hyo Joo gave her encouragement to keep hwaiting, which thrilled her to death. She played with Brooke Henderson in the first two rounds, another thrill. Like a lot of these young Korean kids, she's a longish hitter. Her average has been around 260 with her longest hits in the 280 range. She is expected to make the national team next year but hasn't yet been on it. She is in the field thanks to a recommendation from the KGA. Playing with the top players in the world is a great way to get experience!

By the way, as far as I could see, the low score of the day for a Korean was a 67. This was achieved by two teens: Seo Jin Park and Soomin Oh, and by Jiyai Shin. Soomin Oh repping for the next generation: Soomin Oh I have seen in KLPGA tournaments before; she played at the KB Star Championship last month for instance.
