The Yonex Ladies on the JLPGA in early June is toast,
... while the KLPGA resumes in mid-May. A question for Kobayashi:
***********
Three weeks ago, the LPGA said they were going to reschedule Meijer, but nothing has changed ... still listed for June 11-14. The week of July 23-26, which is right after Michigan's Dow Great Lakes, looks like the obvious new calendar spot ... unless the LPGA has other plans we don't know about.

European club soccer could be the next thing that gets cancelled due to the pandemic. The Eredivisie in The Netherlands already formally ended their season, and with France banning all sporting events, including behind closed doors, until September their top flight also found their season cut short. UEFA has given their member countries until 28 May to either draw up plans for resuming their seasons or declare them over. The French government's declaration also spells doom for the rescheduled Evian Championship in August.www.bbc.com/sport/football/52460468The NBA has allowed teams to open their practice facilities on 8 May for individual workouts in jurisdictions that have relaxed stay-at-home orders. That will definitely NOT include Massachusetts after Governor Charlie Baker extended our restrictions until the 18th.Kevin

The Canadian Football League delayed the start of its season to September ... now there's talk that they may cancel the season. Do women play in this league?
***********
Good news for college golf - the NCAA ruled that the football & basketball factories will not be permitted to temporarily drop their non-revenue sports to make up for past and future financial hits to their cash cows. Also, spring sports athletes will be given another year of eligibility. This is great - U.S. college can continue to churn out ... mediocre women pros.
***********
Idiot Inslee will finally lift the ban on golf and fishing in Washington state on May 5. Hey Guv., considering the perilous state of meat packing in the U.S., how about lifting the ban on fishing NOW, you dummy.
***********
Emperor Murphy said his re-opening plan re CV-19 would be "regional" ... in reality, he'll do whatever the hell he feels like ... never mind that I'll be surrounded by states playing golf on May 1 (PA, DE, NY), but I can't play. BTW, the state's peak hospitalization and ventilator usage numbers were both hit on April 14 ... both figures have steadily declined in the last 14 days.
***********
I knew who this was before I opened the article:
Fraser was at the ShopRite/Acer pro-am last year at the Seaview's 7th tee box promoting golf vacations to Ireland.
***********
While I was practicing 30-yard pitch shots yesterday at a township park (the Emperor has no authority over them), the boss called and asked if I wanted to go back to work next Monday and I said okay. I'm getting off the gravy train for the good of my country. Holy crap, I was getting an extra $600 a week on top of my unemployment insurance for the first two weeks. Plus, I'll be submitting for UI to cover for last week and this week ... does that mean an extra $1,200?! Please give my thanks to your grandchildren for this financial largesse ... they'll be paying the interest from it to China long after I am worm food. Oh, that reminds me ... China stooge Bill Gates is THE DEVIL.

NEWS FLASH!
The LPGA just came out with its final Double Secret Probation schedule:
Ugh, it starts July 15, but they're playing every week thru December 20! They're also dumping the money from the cancelled events into the remaining events.
CORRECTION: They're off on the weeks ending November 14 & 28.

Just a gentle reminder not to talk politics here. I know this is challenging in this particular thread, but we've been good about it for the most part!

BREAKING NEWS! Xxxxxxx Xxxxxx will lift the NJ golf ban on Saturday; it will resume with social distancing guidelines (which was already happening when the ban went into effect in March). Great timing ... I don't play golf on weekends and will start working M-F next week.
***********
The Olympics qualifying deadline for women via Rolex World Ranking points is now June 28, 2021. The article I read doesn't say when points will be awarded again ... the rankings were frozen on March 20. Obviously, points need to be awarded when the KLPGA resumes next month. The KLPGA has five players ranked from #24 thru #32. If one of them goes on a tear for two months, while the LPGAers sit around and do nothing, how high can she get?

Is this assumption logical? Iron Cho or Hee Jeong Lim could get to #1 faster because each has less than 40 events built into their current rankings ... Cyborg has 60. That's how Join Rahm got to #2 almost overnight.

As of the now, the CLPGA will begin its season Jun 18-20 with the (I kid you not) Orient Masters Wuhan Challenge.
The tour website posted a recent article (below) on Weiwei Zhang, which has many videos and pics ... and it says she has 100 MPH clubhead speed with the driver. I won't believe that if she bombs out of various Q-schools again in 2020.

Kitesurfing (see above)
Exploring rock pools
Golfing
Meditation
Roller skating and roller blading
Skateboarding (not in groups)
Tai Chi and Chi Kung (also not in groups)

The "Live Free or Die" state (New Hampshire) announced that as part of their easement of restrictions that golf courses and campgrounds will reopen on the 11th - but ONLY for NH residents unless the out of state person is a member of a private facility. Barbers and hair salons, retail stores and drive in movies will also reopen on the 11th under certain conditions, while restaurants will be able to offer outdoor seating from the 18th. Non emergency medical procedures can resume from this Monday on a case by case basis. In making the announcement Governor Chris Sununu made it a point to acknowledge that the gradual pace of the easements has to do with the fact that they're right next door to Massachusetts, who've recorded the 3rd highest number of infections in the nation behind New York and New Jersey. The stay at home order in the Granite State has been extended to 31 May.
As of 1 May:
NH: 2310 cases, 81 deaths
MA: 64311 cases, 3716 deaths
NJ: 121190 cases, 7538 deaths
NY: 308314 cases, 18610 deaths

With this announcement that would leave just 3 states that will still not permit golf once the 11th rolls around: Vermont, Maryland and Massachusetts.
Speaking of the Bay State, Governor Charlie Baker issued an executive order requiring anyone over 2 to wear a mask in public in situations where physical distancing is not possible, effective this coming Wednesday. The stay at home advisory remains in effect until the 18th.
The Symetra Tour reboot is slated for 8 June in Ohio.

Adam Hadwin is getting flamed over at GolfWrx for objecting to CV19 "adjustments" like leaving the flag in all the time, since he normally takes it out to putt. I also read that Scott Stallings took it on the chin for objecting to no rakes and no caddies.
After some thought, I gotta throw in with these guys. The 'P' in 'PGA Tour' and 'LPGA Tour' stands for "Professional." Putting spacers in the cups, removing rakes, not touching the flags, etc. ... that's hacker golf, designed for hackers like me. However, if the pro tours incorporate these "adjustments", they're doing a bait-and-switch on the public. I don't want to see MHL pushing a hand cart or pulling her clubs from a go cart, and why should she? Rank has its privileges and she worked hard to get it. Lexi's caddie does all her yardages, which is within the rules ... now you're going to take him away and tell her to DIY ... that b.s. There are obvious solutions to sidestep these "adjustments" ... gloves, masks, cleaners, volunteers, DUH! Btw, the DHS (that's a gubmint agency!) did scientific studies on CV19 and said that the virus has an extremely short half-life on a non-porous surface when exposed to direct sunlight.
Oh, and we already had the first case of Spacergate ....
.... and it won't be the last. These players are crazy good ... watch enough tournaments on TV and you'll see balls flying or bouncing into the cup from all distances and directions. Do you really want a Major decided by a bounce off a spacer?

How is the KLPGA going to accomodate the fans for the upcoming 42nd KLPGA Championship... Isn't it our understanding that there won't be any? The KBO and the K League (baseball and soccer) are starting their seasons behind closed doors, so being the first tournament anywhere in 2 months the KLPGA isn't going to take any chances. Kevin
