As it turned out, Massachusetts wound up being the lone holdout after Maryland and Vermont announced the reopening of golf courses yesterday, but now we too can hit the links:a.msn.com/02/en-us/BB13K7YO?ocid=scu2Kevin

I tuned into some KBO last night. I like their game better than current MLB. Pitching is a bit sloppy and Korean bullpens are notoriously understaffed. But this is all great for offense. Last night the LG Twins sent former MLB whiteboy Casey Kelly to the mound. I assumed the NC Dinos would have their work cut out for them but no, they torched him, six runs in two innings.
A few years ago the Dinos had an American MLBer, Eric Thames, won the KBO MVP in 2015, then made a triumphant return to MLB. Great story.

I came here to post my dismay with the whole ESPN KBO thing, after initially enjoying it. Most of the commentators are beyond checked out, desperate to talk about anything but what's happening on the field. They actually had Mr. Lippert in the virtual broadcast booth two nights ago, in yet another attempt to humanize these alien people or whatever. It's not an entirely bad impulse I suppose but I wish they'd just focus on the ball playing. ESPN are trying so hard to captivate the audience and keep them from changing the channel, and in the process forgetting what regular season baseball has always been, and is supposed to be. It's supposed to be a bit boring and slow-paced and quotidian.

Just a heads up: I received the following from the people who run the message board here:
"In order to protect the public, ProBoards has instituted a policy which prohibits the posting of misinformation related to the COVID-19 outbreak"
There was more, but the tl;dr is that everyone should be aware not to post links to misinformation about the pandemic or theories that come from same. From what I've seen, no one is doing that, but I think we'd all prefer not to have the heavy boot come down on our heads, so just be aware! Many thanks.

I like how the sex dolls are keeping proper social distancing!

Did Mark Zuckerberg buy out ProBoards, too?

Quotidian?! Thanks, I learned a new word after I looked it up .... you showboat.
I cut back on my MLB baseball mania starting after the 1994 strike and haven't followed it all in at least 15 years. Even without watching the games, I know it is unwatchable as of 2019. Why do they bother putting out four infielders and three outfielders? The ball can only end up in two places: the catcher's mitt or over the wall. I'm a total reactionary on baseball ... my detailed sports memory as a kid didn't start until 1970 and the game was WAY better in the 70s and 80s. The DH stinks and inter-league play is an abomination.
Regarding "slow play", this is a great read, courtesy of Dick Young:
