The Complex has done a pretty good job covering the SYK story. They interviewed her during her practice round today. Some kind of FaceTime interview.

Did they talk about margin of victory on the broadcast? That is a better measurement of dominance...after all, everybody tore up this goat track. Winning by nine is impressive, but is not close to the record. Did some digging...Cindy Mackey (who?) won the 1986 MasterCard International Pro-Am by 14 shots...along with two asterisks. Mackey shot a 12-under 276, while Jody Rosenthal and Cathleen Johnston finished at 290, +2. However, Coleen Walker shot -7, 281...but was DQ'd for signing an incorrect scorecard. Also, an all-star tournament in Georgia was being played the same weekend with Bradley, Lopez, King, Sheehan, Alcott, Skinner, Jan S., etc. The MasterCard was played on three different courses in Westchester Co., NY. It was Mackey's only win on the LPGA tour in 14 seasons...she is so obscure that Getty Images and AP Images has no pix of her under her married (Mackey) or maiden (Pleger) name.
