It's probably a daylight issue - not enough time to get a bigger field around the first two rounds.

I can hardly wait. I see Juli Inkster is giving it another go. A Pakpicker note: there are five, count 'em, five M Lees in the field. Please be specific in your picks if you venture there.

coatesgolfchampionship.com/2015-qualifier-results/2 Koreans who qualified from this huge field....surprise...surprise...not really...especially Ha Na. Nice to see young Canadian, Brooke Henderson shoot a 72. IMO....it really is embarrassing for these pros/ams who shoot 86 to 97 and think they can make a living playing golf.

So glad to see Hana qualify. She has become another one of my favorites among others. This could help her when they redo the priority list. If she plays well, she can get into the "Asian Swing", limited tournaments at the end of the year.
Not happy that the ex USC Trojan.. Sophia Popov shoot 82.

IMO...Ha Na is in a class of her own....she's the #21 Rolex ranked player...she's no slouch. I'd put money on her to qualify for the fall Asian swing. IMO...category 11 s/b the top 20 Q-school gals and category 12...the 81-100 previous year's money ranked pros. If you're a USC fan....I assume you like Belen Mozo....one of my fav's. So does that also mean you won't cheer for a Bruin like, Alison Lee.?...if your answer is yes...that's a shame....Alison is cute and seems to have a pretty nice personality.

Jing Yan isn't Korean; she sounds Chinese. Julie Yang IS Korean, but just missed getting into the tournament. I reiterate that it's completely lame Ha Na even had to qualify for this, but at least she's in! Hopefully this is the last time she needs to go through a qualifier this year.

Q Baek says in a new interview that she chose the letter 'Q' for her name to make her more memorable to Western fans (of course), and because the word 'Queen' starts with Q. And also, incidentally, it's really easy to sign autographs! PS - I just noticed that KLPGA star In Gee Chun, who was in Florida and appeared at the PGA Show, also tried to Monday qualify for this event. Alas, she only shot a 77. Better luck to her in her second round of golf ever played in America, whenever that happens!

She was on the USC team that won the NCAA tournament. Which included Lizette Salas, and Veronica Felibert, among others. Even though she is a Bruin, I do like Alison Lee. Sorry Mo Martin, even though you are nice, you are an ex Bruin.

I wrote a little overview of the Korean rookies coming into the league this year. You may know a lot of this stuff, but check it out, there may be some stuff that will surprise you! Meet the 2015 Korean LPGA Rookies

Meet the 2015 Korean LPGA RookiesHappy You should put this in it's own folder to get the attention it deserves. Great work and details....kudos!! I appreciate the 'personal' stuff written about each pro. You often write about the importance of distance on the LPGA tour. "she certainly has the game to contend on the LPGA, especially given how important long hitting can be on this tour." "For one, she is another very long hitter, and that always helps more on the LPGA than KLPGA." Are you implying the importance of distance that is common among many of the top LPGA pros in order for the gals on the LPGA tour to contend or win vs. a shorter hitting KLPGA tour? Or are you discussing the importance of distance on LPGA courses vs. KLPGA courses. IMO....length is not only important on the LPGA....but all tours....men & women.....bomb and gouge does help...but ultimately we all know the lowest score wins no matter length or not.

Thanks for the positive words! IMO, length helps anywhere, but the kind of courses the KLPGA plays tend to be tighter and require stronger short games, whereas there seem to be a fair number of LPGA courses with little rough and generous driving areas, which really helps the longer hitters. That's why Mirim Lee, for instance, seemed to thrive more here than she did back in Korea. I think it will help Ha Na Jang, Sei Young Kim and possibly Ju Young Park as well, as they are all in Mirim's ballpark lengthwise.
