"Forty-nine of the top 50 players in the Rolex Women’s World Rankings are expected at Golden Ocala Golf & Equestrian Club, according to Andy Bush, senior vice president of business development for Octagon, the company running tournament operations for the LPGA’s newest event."
Seriously??? Of the top 50 ranked female pros...I believe approx. 10 are not even LPGA members. Andy Bush (Pressel's husband) is really pushing it....the event must be really desperate to sell tickets.

It's no surprised that Randell Mell, of Golf Channel, would write about this without doing some homework. The guy often struggles to write something about the LPGA when there really is nothing to write about.

Personally, I'm looking forward to seeing In Gee Chun, Jung Min Lee, Yoon Kyung Heo and other KLPGA stars play in Florida! Wait, what? Oh, he's wrong is he? (Gilda Radner voice:) 'Never mind'...

Although we don't have a field list (or a 2015 Priority List), the sponsor exemptions have been announced: 1- Cheyenne Woods 2- Alexandria Jacobsen Ms Woods is #137 on the Priority List, which suggests that the field at this time of year is slightly smaller than the standard 144 player full field, or else she wouldn't have needed a sponsor exemption. We won't know for certain until Tuesday when the Final Field is published

Randall Mell's article about the Coates tournament says that 45 out of the top 50 of last year's LPGA $ list are entered - not 45 of top 50 in Rolex rankings. And why is 32 out of top 50 Rolex players so laughable, when as you pointed out, about 10 are not LPGA players.
Personally I can't wait for the season to start!

I don't know what Randell Mell article you read......but the one posted on the Golf Channel site claimed Andy Bush quoted as stating top 49 of 50 ROLEX RANKED pros....NOT.......LPGA $ list. The link my original post above is not working...and I did copy what was written and supposedly quoted by Andy Bush: " Forty-nine of the top 50 players in the Rolex Women’s World Rankings are expected at Golden Ocala Golf & Equestrian Club, according to Andy Bush, senior vice president of business development for Octagon, the company running tournament operations for the LPGA’s newest event." Here's the link again from Randell Mell. link
It's laughable that Bush would claim that 49 of the top 50 ROLEX RANKED pros are expected to play at the Coates.....considering......I believe.......there are 10 pros in the top 50 ROLEX RANKED players that are NOT LPGA members.....plus other pros that likely never committed or signed up to play. I guess I wasn't fooled by the snake oil sales pitch....lol.

I am so disappointed that this is not a full field tournament. I was so looking to the "Sisters" ..that qualified start their LPGA careers. Because Ha-Na-Jang is my pick for, Rookie of Year. I am not that excited for the start now, what a boomer. Still it has a lot of great Sisters in it.

Se Ri is not there. Fortunately, SYR is there to bail out the tournament.

This is strange why this is not a full field event.....ya earn your exempt card at LPGA school and it's not enough to play.

It's pretty lame that so many of the top finishers at Q-School can't even tee it up at the first event of the year.
