Left, I have to give it to you. Back then many of us has deserted the Queen Bee for the flavor of the months, eg Ariya, Brooke, or even Sung Hyun Park, when Inbee was shooting in the 80s. You are the one who maintained that there is only ONE player who has the consistency and mental fortitude to challenge the Wonder Kid for #1, and that player was nursing a thumb injury at the time. Well play sir. Haha, thx! Pretty sure it wasn't just me with those thoughts, it's one of the few things I agree with Happy on.. I am not so sure, HF is still waiting for world domination from In Gee.

I am not so sure, HF is still waiting for world domination from In Gee. lol That one may have to wait awhile, it's one thing to dominate Korea, World Domination is a different level. Never quite understood why most around here thought she would given there's never been a Korean player come straight from the KLPGA and dominate the LPGA. Se Ri was very strong when she came to the LPGA but she wasn't dominant, would have been but for the Swede and the Aussie she had to fight against so she was a bit unlucky in that regard. Jiyai and Sei Young are the only other two I can think of that had multiple wins in their first couple of years, neither I would say were dominant players at the time though. There's probably more but just those three come to mind..

It looked like Stacy wanted to congratulate Inbee with a hug or handshake off the 18th green, but Inbee gave a quick nod and pretty much blew her off. I noticed that too....it should be on the NBC Olympic highlight package this evening. Ok, I watched it again a few times and saw no movement whatsoever from Stacy that she was trying to hug Inbee or shake her hands. She and Lexi was standing on the 18th green exit presumably to wait for Gerina. When Inbee walked by, looks like both Lexi and Stacy said something to Inbee and she promptly nodded.

In Gee is clearly back to drawing board, since she failed miserably in both USWO and Olympics, two of the cornerstones of her "Big Bang" rookie season plan. There is no question she has the total package; the swing, short games and scintillating putting. But we've found out in 2016 that she isn't tough enough, both mentally and physically. It's a matter of time she puts it all together; it just takes time. Underperformed? Maybe a smidge. Failed miserably? Absolutely not. My take is that In Gee is a golfer in her first extended time living away from home. She has a lot of adjustments to make to get used to being where she is. Her goal this season was to finish top ten on the LPGA money list, and were it not for the Thailand tournament not being official, I think she would currently be there. I don't think she is yet a superstar, but she has clearly established herself as one of the top five Koreans on tour, and I feel with a little more work she can still get to the top. And who knows, the season isn't over yet, and there are some events coming in Asia, which might be better for her comfort level. Whatever happens the rest of 2016, I have a feeling that in a year or two from now, the naysayers will be singing a different tune. We'll see!

Happy Fan. Whatever I write is the opposite. I explain myself--only because it's you. I dig and no offense intended. I just worry that there are some who are jumping on that bandwagon for real and wanted to stop that train at the station.

In Gee's KLPGA scoring avg was 70.5 and a 1/2 stroke better than the next best. Sung Hyun Park is just under 70 and a 1/2 stroke better than Jin Young Ko this year. (I like reading those stats here every week!) I think 1/2 stroke better than the field for a year is when you start to think a player might be able to consistently be in contention. In 2016 Lydia is 1st at 69.27, Ha Na is 2nd at 69.89 and In Gee is 3rd at 70.06. Amy Yang is 4th at 70.10. In Gee is having a pretty good Rookie Year to be 3rd in scoring. Lydia is indeed amazing.

I think two wins by Ha Na and Sei Young is not just good it's awesome. Coming to a different culture, seeing golf courses for the first time. Not really speaking the language, having to communicate with a caddie . That more than likely doesn't speak Korean, and has to translate meters to yardage. In Gee has really done great so far. It's really difficult to win a tournament. Sometimes things, no matter how well you play just work out different.
Like Lang winning mainly because of a penalty. Lidia making bogy on eighteen to give Henderson a chance. Lydia making birdie on eighteen at ANA to deny In Gee a chance.
Ask Lewis who hasn't won in almost two years. How difficult it is.
It is a very hard transition. What other country even come close to what the Koreans do their first year.

Like Lang winning mainly because of a penalty. Lidia making bogy on eighteen to give Henderson a chance. I like Lang but I never thought she'd win another LPGA event after the Manulife.....she's not a mentally strong player...she's forever asking Luke for reassurance before pulling the trigger...and Luke is often frustrated with this. The stars were aligned for Bethany at Cordevalle that day....not so much for Diana Murphy. If you are talking about the KPMG....Ko missed an uphill birdie putt on 17......Ko then went on to par 18 to get into a playoff. Many, including myself thought it was Ko's win when she stiffed it on 17 and at the same time...... Brooke fanned her drive on 18 into the trees, hit a tree on her 2nd....wedged it to 8 ft and made par. As Johnny Miller said...it's often a short putt when it counts .....will be shoved right .....and Ko shoved her putt on 17...Johnny Knows.

My take is that In Gee is a golfer in her first extended time living away from home. She has a lot of adjustments to make to get used to being where she is. I'm not buying it....others have had to make the same adjustments without an entourage. Dumbo has 4 slaves/servants following her on tour. 1) The Good Doctor......available to tweek her mechanics on the road. Although with Dumbo's recent gags...he's been absent so he can disassociate himself for In Gee's recent failures.....he doesn't want to risk the reputation of his ROBOT FACTORY in Korea. 2) Kylie Pratt...she is no longer the LOVELY HYP's manager and is now Dumbo's road manager. So not only does Kylie know about tour life as the Rocket's past loop....Kylie also know the courses too. I'm quite confident Kylie knows all the in and out's to get Dumbo what she needs while on tour. 3) Mom.....assists in the small stuff....ironing/cleaning her clothes.....food prep for her bag...etc, etc...what mom's do on tour. 4) Dad....mental consultant......he can research and recommend good cemeteries to sleep in...when Dumbo is not feeling mentally strong after 2 rds....to get In Gee mentally back in the game for the weekend. Nuff said.

I may have got some of the specifics wrong. My point was it's hard to win out there. Some days you play good enough to win and don't. Other times your play is not so good, but you end up winning anyway.
Unless you are So Yeon who needs to learn to finish again. I have faith that she will.

You know when I started playing golf I had a chance to break eighty for the first time. I shot 35 on the front nine and 45 on the back nine. The Golf Pro explained to me is that I was out of my comfort zone. You will one day look at today and laugh. Until this day I still haven't laughed about it.

WTF...at 808pm....GC up here is showing endless Golf Academy featuring Popsicle Guy....blah. I want to see the GC feed that we did not receive and want to see some post rd interviews. I have a suspicion that TSN2 paid for the Sky Sports feed.
