Meanwhile, though I think the odds are uber long, I'll throw in a cheer for Uribe. She is about the only white golfer I know who has taken advantage of the language tutors the LPGA provides... to learn KOREAN! Apparently she enjoys practicing Korean with the Sisters when she gets paired with them. That is cool! I really like her spirit and 'perkiness' on the course - but her putting stance makes me cringe!

Congrats to Brooke. She's lucky the top pros were absent....otherwise I think after 45 holes....other top pros likely would have chased her down.
Blah....pathetic...it took 20 minutes for Austin, Uribe and Brooke to play 18...that's a 6 hr pace.
I wonder if Stacy will trash her hotel rm tonight in Cali....another 2nd place.
Oh Canada baby!...considering Eugenie gagged.

Oh Canada baby!...considering Eugenie gagged. I know top pros were absent (due to LPGA scheduling change of this event) but that should not diminish Brooke's achievement. This win solidified her win at KPMG. That was no fluke! It seems that Brooke used her head more than her golfing skill to win this week. To me the difference between the champion and the rest is that a champion finds a way to win. Brooke is a champion! If, as you say, others have chased her down, she would've played better and in the end she would've won. Same goes for Lydia and In Bee. I said Lydia is boring. Let me correct myself: Lydia is bored a little. But it seems that Lydia might have quite a challenge ahead. That will be excellent for LPGA and the golf in general. I want to see Lydia, In Gee, Stacy and Brooke battle it out next week!.

The pace of play is beyond repair. Rosewood CordeValle presents the US Women's Open will be worse.

The pace of play is beyond repair. Rosewood CordeValle presents the US Women's Open will be worse. Some of the blame for slow play is how golf allows for the couch potato to call in...WTF...what other sport allows this...NONE. The pros should not need a RO many times....they are now all gun shy because of HD TV. Golf is meant to be self regulated/policed....let's try to keep it that way.

Look at top ranked pros like Feng and Ha Na who both gagged it last night on the KLPGA. Brooke definitely would have managed her game differently if a top 15 pro was in her group on the weekend....Uribe showed she couldn't keep her foot on the pedal for the entire weekend....Tutta has lost her touch to close them out. I'd love to see a new sponsor throw up a $2.5M purse and rotate this event between Portland and Seattle.

I watched a Round 4 replay on JTBC Golf this AM...all hail the Canadian North American Princess! Later in this celebration I saw Naomi Ko run in there, but can't find a pic with her. Look what my posting in the NEWS forum did for her...shot 69 on Friday and made the cut. These cone trees remind me of the Sahalee scenery I saw on TV...she must like it, but CordeValle looks nothing like this. BTW, did GC explain that weird split-hand pre-shot routine by Uribe?

Phil, if I recall right, Uribe wants to ensure her left hand is gripped properly before she swings.

Congrats to Brooke on her win. As you all said, not the deepest field this week, but you still have to get it done, and as Ha Na Jang and Shanshan Feng showed in China, that's easier said than done. That means she has won the last three times the LPGA played in the Pacific Northwest. Well, let's hope she's got her winning done for the year in time for the Open this week!

Sunday July 3, 2016 I had a great time, really enjoyed myself. Weather was great. I’m inside the ropes at a professional golf tournament, and I get a free lunch everyday, with free Diet Coke at every hole. Same walking scorer as Saturday, (an ex-pro baseball player, nice guy) Doesn’t get better than that. Hummmmmm, or does it…………. First off again on #1, Stanford HotShot Mariah Stackhouse, HOFer Miss Webb, and another Aussie, Sarah Smith. Miss Smith’s 70 topped my group, and really, she played the best all day of all 3. Her caddie must be her boyfriend, because they were flirting A LOT. Good for her, enjoying herself. Miss Stackhouse absolutely looks out of place in a LPGA golf tournament. If you don’t know, she’s black, Michael Cooper black. With long cornrow hair and a caddie, who I think was her father, even darker. (Ken was a super guy, though) She also literally looks 14 years old. Petite. Not an especially good player, very up and down, and ended up with a 74 and even par for the tourney. You could tell she had the utmost respect and a little awe for Miss Webb and took it as a privilege playing with her. Greeted her on the first tee with a warm handshake and bow. I have to admit, I saw Miss Stackhouse a couple times in the early rounds walking around outside the ropes by the food trucks, and thought she was just a little girl spectator in a nice golf outfit (always black)who maybe was a Oregon Junior Golfer who was going to carry a sign in the latter part of the day when I was done. The only giveaway was the KMPG hat she and her caddie wore. Was a bit shocked when she walked up on the first tee and introduced herself. I do wish her good luck but to be honest, she does need a bit more game. And I really hope she isn’t starting at a disadvantage, like Tiger, because of her race. Again, good luck, Mariah. Ahhh, now to HOFer Miss Webb. I was very excited, too, when I found out I’d be carrying for only the second HOF golfer in my 14 years doing this. (I carried for Julie Inkster waaaay back in like 2005) Things race through your mind like how to introduce yourself, will I get to do a bit of small talk with her throughout the round, what will the autographed ball you get look like……..you know, the usual stuff. I’m left with one overwhelming thought……..I just plain feel sorry for Miss Webb. Oh, her game is still fine, but she HAS lost her putting touch (almost the Yips category) She just chooses to be miserable on a golf course and do everything she can to let everyone around know about it. She yells and barks at bad shots, slammed clubs, threw putters, kicked divots. She even took a good whack at one of the cardboard garbage cans between 15 and 16 with her putter when she missed a 4 foot birdie putt on 15, invoking a large gasp from just about everyone around. Didn’t care. The last straw for me was when she left her bird on 18 a half roll short, biting nails, she tapped it in, reluctantly hugged her playing partners, (except Miss Stackhouse –shake only) and stomped on by me and Pat (walking scorer) without even a glance. Was I mad, disappointed, astonished? Gosh, no. Like I said, only pity. Why is Miss Webb playing and making it so miserable on herself? SHE GET’S TO PLAY GOLF FOR A LIVING. And she probably banks a cool $500,000 before even setting foot on a course each year. So be miserable, Karrie. Take it waaaaaay too seriously. I got your drift loud and clear. I loved seeing that great eagle you made on 10, but then, you made it enjoyable for me to watch you 4-jack on 9 with your attitude. BTW Karrie, I’ll be at Disneyland next month enjoying my good life while you’re out on the course making yourself as miserable as you can. Pretty soon, no one is going to care you’re in the HOF. Well, that’s it guys and girls. Another Portland tourney in the books. My girl Austin making a good showing, seeing some really good rounds and discovering some new talent (Miss Grice), having fun, walking 5 rounds and helping Oregon Junior Golf win the $10,000 first prize for best volunteer organization (Cambia gave all volunteers a pedometer and wanted us to turn it in at the end of the day –most distance covered by the org. got $10K. We tripled the next closest!!!!) I’m really proud of this as our Oregon Junior Golf has gotten nothing the last few years because the tourney hasn’t been doing so well. Ta-ta people and great catching up with you older SS posters!!! I leave you with a pic of Miss Stackhouse on 16, and of course, I have to get Miss Ernst in, too, on 15. -ol’68

Ol-68 1) I believe it's Sarah Jane's husband....not BF....SJS is a nice lady...she's BFF with the Lovely Azahara Munoz. 2) Hmmmm....,more Yank racism .,.....Black Lives Matter....I guess you're voting for Donald the Great. 3) Anyone who follows women's golf knows who Mariah Stackhouse is....they also showed her a lot on GC in the recent NCAA's at Eugene G&CC. I guess you are too 'WHITE" to say hi to other African Americans at the tournament too....e.g.) GOAT #2's niece Cheyenne, Sadena Parks and Ginger Howard. 4) Ya...I don't know why many fawn over Webb...yes she can be miserable...she's playing because she wants to make the Olympic team...but unless she lights it up this week....two FAKE black haired yellow skin Aussies are on the team...Minjee and Su Oh.....luv it. It was in Portland where I saw Webb walking towards the clubhouse after her rd. A young boy asked for an autograph...she just walked by without breaking stride.....5 steps later she barked without turning around..."If you want a signature come here a get it"....WTF. The kid didn't know what to do. There are so many nicer pros to ask for a autograph kid....hang out with The Smiling Buddha and he'll show you the ropes. Have fun at DisneyLand. I'm gonna miss your banter and will unfortunately have to wait for another 13 months. Take care....MAYBE....I might venture down to Portland next year.
