I was under the impression that college graduates were no longer welcome on the LPGA.

The Golf Channel really did Stackhouse a favor by repeatedly showering her on college golf promos.

Well, I guess she's a hell of a player
"Stackhouse was the No. 19 ranked player in the world at the collegiate level for the NCAA Division I runner-up Stanford University Women's Golf Team. She helped Stanford capture the 2015 NCAA Championship in dramatic fashion, coming from behind to win her decisive match in extra holes. In 2014, she was named the Global Golf Post Amateur of the Year and led the U.S. Curtis Cup Team to victory. A 4-time WGCA (Women's Golf Coaches Association) All-American, Stackhouse won four collegiate championships."
Nice preview, Tony.

I was under the impression that college graduates were no longer welcome on the LPGA. Smart move by Portland...due to the compressed sked.....Mariah and The Canadian Princess will be the only pros playing....the Koreans better sign up to this weak field...maybe it could be Dumbo's 1st win as a LPGA member. I think Tonya Harding lives nearby....so Dumbos' dad can ambush Brooke and throw some luggage as she arrives at PDX. I hope Paige Spiranac or Muni He get the 2nd invite....maybe I'll attend then. The only Am worth watching out...... for her pro debut is Hannah O.

Just for laughs, I did a AAA motel lookup in Portland, OR for Tue. night thru Fri. morning. The cheapest I found was Motel 6 in Gresham for $63/night (includes all fees and taxes). Are you kidding me? Is Portland aka Beverly Hills North?! And what's with Motel 6? They used to be cheap...their outdoor signs used to say $39...not anymore.

Seattle is much more expensive.
In 2013..... I think I paid $200 for 3 nights at a Super 8 at PDX. In 2005, 2006 & 2008...I couldn't slum it cause my wife attended...but I got some great deals at Springhill Suites and Clarion hotels with a hot breakfast from $70-$80/night right at PDX.....PDX is 5 mins from Columbia Edgewater and the $5 parking to charity..... is next to the course. LPGA use to be partners with Clarion and had promo codes.
In 2010 at Pumpkin, I stayed (no wife) at an Ecomolodge for $45/night where some loops stayed too....I hate Pumpkin and the traffic....I went south one night to a Golfsmith to buy some grips....15 miles...took about 40 minutes.....WTF.

I think we'll see the entire Symetra tour roster in Portland.

No way I can attend this year. I'm working the Saturday for one thing. I hope next year it's scheduled at a more favorable time of year.

I think we'll see the entire Symetra tour roster in Portland. The Symetra chicks are playing the same week in Michigan, just as they played the same week as the LPGA in Atlantic City. Like AC, Portland will probably put out an APB for the dinosaurs...Allison Hanna, Jean Bartholomew, Kim Williams, Michelle McGann, etc.

Gee whiz, they exhumed Brandie Burton for this one...hasn't played the LPGA since 2010. I'm surprised Allison Hanna isn't in this field. She's from Oregon originally...maybe doesn't live there anymore. AJ Eathorne is first alternate, so it wouldn't be too burdensome to drive down from B.C. I see they invited Naomi Ko from B.C. - she's the one that passed the first USWO qualifier this year. Mi Hyang is skipping this one...it's a short trip from Arkansas to S.C., where she can recharge her batteries and work on her putting during this off-week.
Update: Just noticed Beth Bader's name...she last played the LPGA once in 2013.

I saw AJ and her hubby at Sahalee....saw her at the CWO too....a bit of a trek from Vernon, BC to Seattle. Ya....Hanna was a fav invite in Portland....I guess they are trying to trick fans in Portland to attend by inviting a Ko....lol.
I thought the LOVELY HYP would play...she likes staying with her billet in Portland.

Off hand I forgot what tournament maybe ....Jamie Farr. No the Corning Classic, I believe.

I watched Burton make a run at the Dinah Shore title in the mid 90's. I believe the winner was Nanci Bowen. I was rooting for Laura Davies but she faded in round 4. There weren't many Koreans on tour in those days.
