Results of Monday's qualifier haven't been posted yet, but two players on the field list were given sponsor invites. The first was Caroline Inglis, who got in because there was no first-time LPGA winner in Arkansas this past Sunday. The second was Sydney Maluenda, who was notified during the 6th hole of the qualifier that she was in, due to Beth Bader dropping out.

Tony Good point about this being the oldest event on the LPGA tour....IMO...it's now a tier 2 event...which is a shame....logistically one of the best events I've attended when Safeway was an sponsor. It was announced today...Safeway is going to sponsor a PGA event next year. So is this the weakest field on your archives list? I suspect really poor attendance...weak field and long weekend holiday. Brooke missed the cut at the 2015 Manulife as a non-LPGA member.

Sigh, it's so sad how this event has fallen. Back a decade ago, it was attended by most of the top stars, and was just a blast to attend. The last time I went, it felt so much cheaper and less impressive, and the field was just not the same caliber.
Hopefully it will get a better spot on the schedule next year and begin to rebound a little; I would hate to lose the only permanent stop in the northwest, especially one at such a cool course as Columbia Edgewater.

Not relevant to this tournament. But why can't my favorites finish tournaments when in the hunt. I must jinx them. My young friend Jessica Wallace was five under, after eight holes, on the Symetra Tour. She went five over on the next ten holes. Made two bogeys on par fives and a double. The winner were minus six.

I would have liked to see Hahn, Seo, Kim or Inaba make the field. I don't think there's ever been a score posted below 80 by Coleman...past BB contestant....a WRX member says she has no game.

Holy cow, there's a lot of inbreeding here on SS forums now (too many people saying the same thing)................... The only reason this tourney is a "lower tier" this year is because of the Olympics and it's July 4th weekend and it's right before the Open. Next year you guys will be moaning about how late in the year it is or something else, with a great field to boot.... I'm doing my regular 8-10 sign carrys this year because of a Junior Golf event being held at the same time in the area and all the kids are off in that tourney. Double duty Thursday and Friday. I plan on posting my views at the end of the day each day because it will be much more relevant and cooler than if I left everything till the end. Besides everyone will be on to the next tourney. My 14th year......I'm first off the first tee tomorrow so come say hello, even though nobody will be there. I'll even get you a free diet Coke/water/ice out of the cooler if you want. (I WILL miss you Vern!!!!) Really looking forward to meeting more great LPGA up and comers. Supposed to be great weather......you guys bitch, moan and mope around your house all weekend. I'll fill you in on the great time I'm gunna have at the second rate LPGA stop here in Portland. -ol'68

Yes, pls provide us your reports.....they are always up there with the reports that Phil provides us. I appreciate your true outlook....no BS commentary. How's Herbie doing? How's you daughter doing? Maybe our good friend Dave H (Cougar) will be attending. I went to the KPMG in Seattle for 2 days and it was AWESOME.

3putt!!!!!!! Cool to hear from you. Herbie runs like a top (working on the Bus to sell), daughter is going to be a senior (Yikes!!!!!) in High School, lost my Dad and weenie dog last year but recovering.... and had a fantastic year of soccer reffing, and ran my first track meet at a recent weekend (1st in long jump and 3rd in 100m in my age group) Haha. Busy bee. Take care my friend. -ol'68

Sun Young Yoo has just been taken off the field list. ...and I assume no one has been added...the current field is 143 with a twosome teeing off #1 at 7:15 AM on Thursday. LPGA.com doesn't show an alternate list for this one.

Really looking forward to meeting more great LPGA up and comers. Don't forget to meet the LPGA down and outers...McGann, Burton, Dunn, Jeray... Do you get to choose the groups you carry the signs for? If yes, I strongly recommend Grace Na (no later than Friday) for optical values. For unknowns who can squash their drivers, I would recommend Jaclyn Jansen and Benyapa Niphatsophon.

Nope, I don't have a choice of times, they just assign you whenever, but for the last 10 years or so I'm always the first out off the first tee most every day. (Well, I guess if I REALLY exerted myself I could get a specific group if I wanted but a lot of the kids who do this have already put in their requests and like I say, I don't really care who I get because I've met some great women who I'd never have even given a second look to otherwise) Have meet a lot of new faces on their way up over the years and old names going the other way, too. Latest, met SooBin Kim last year (twice!) U of Washington hotshot, and also was the standard bearer when Miss Ernst shot her course record 62 as a single. She was great to me. I've grown to love going out first. BTW I have met Brandie Burton and her bull dyke traveling fan club. Several times. Not my cup 'o tea but a cool lot. Wonder what kind of hat Miss McGann is going to wear? I believe her carrier was cut short by severe diabetes right when she was in her prime back in the day. Good for the LPGA to have her back. Sorry Phil, I'm way past the eye candy stage with the LPGA and just enjoy the good golf inside the ropes. But I do have to admit I like rubbing elbows with the youngsters a bit more than the "seasoned" golfers. (Can I say that?) Catch everyone tomorrow. -ol'68
