I was thinking the same thing. I have followed Se Ri at countless tournaments and there was never an acknowledgement.
I was at a grocery store in Westlake Village about 35 years ago and Bo Derek asked me how my day was going. I guess I'll always have that.

I guess these gals are smart and can spot a bunch of tools like you and me and ignore us......but acknowledge "real' fans. I saw a blonde news anchor yesterday and the grocery store....many would not recognize her or likely not know who she is....so I said hi.....she said hi....but had a look on her face....who is this clown...can't I just shop in peace.

Phil: You must be a stud muffin. A: You said it, not me.WTF....you follow a pro for one hole and she hands you a autographed ball....I can see and have seen pros hand an unsolicited ball to a kid....but handing a ball to a random old fart. And then invite you to the food grille after only 3 holes. I'm especially surprised this occurred during a pro-am when her full attention should be on her am playing partners who shelled out good money....were her playing partners a bunch of dbags? A: Mi Hyang can walk and chew gum at the same time. From what I've seen in person and from pictures on the Internet, the ams love MHL. For following her group to the end, one of her ams gave me his metal Shop-Rite/Acer ball marker...which I can't find at the moment.

A white guy here had nothing but GREAT things to say about SYR as their pro-am pro...but ripped into The Pink Diva....surprise...surprise. You gotta get MHL to give you a hat. Assuming I'm at the KPMG for more than a day and assuming Kylie is following HYP....I'm gonna get Kylie to score me a ROCKET hat...it's too bad HYP didn't make the cut last year and I only fanboy'd her for a couple of holes before the cut...I likely could have scored a hat directly from HYP because all the Hana gals were wearing a iQ hat.....Hana had just launched a virtual Cdn bank and those pros would not be wearing those hats outside of Canada. I gave HYP a bag of Korean candies from H Mart before she left trunk slamming....don't forget to get MHL some Korean candy or snacks...I know she'll really think it's a fantastic gesture. I doubt there are any Korean restaurants in Atlantic City that have gimbap take-out.

Yes, I am in California, SoCal, to be exact. You're in New Jersey, right? What events are you going to hit, and will you be following MHL at those events? The Shop-Rite/Acer in Atlantic City is my annual golf trip. They'll have the USWO in NJ next year, so I'll get that one too. Last year, I also had the USWO and the KMPG. In case you missed it, I have numerous posts in the Tournament Report section of this site. It only goes back to 2015 because the old site for this forum got wiped out. However I saved my reports going back to 2005. Here's my first one with Mi Hyang from 2014 Shop-Rite pro-am: After Lydia teed off at 8:30 AM, I decided to track down Mi Hyang Lee’s 7:10 AM group and check her out. If you go to the ‘maniareport’ video collection on Youtube, you’ll find many instructional videos by Lee.
Danielle Kang’s 7:00 AM group exited the 9th green for the 10th tee box. Danielle sat down on an unused wooden block tee marker. “Isn’t that uncomfortable?” asked a caddie. She said no - it made her back feel better. Soon afterward, Mi Hyang Lee from the next group dropped by for a chat in Korean with Kang. Lee was in an orange rain suit.
It was clear that Kang would have to do all the heavy lifting for her group. The first three amateur tee shots were a collection of hooks, slices, and grounders. The fourth amateur, a large fellow of limited flexibility, grazed the top of his ball with the driver...it travelled about three inches.
I started following Mi Hyang’s group at #10. While they waited to hit at the par-3 11th, I picked up a broken tee from the grass and looked it over. Then I heard a voice say, “Here”. I looked up and Mi Hyang was giving me an autographed ball. It’s an orange #3 Volvik stamped WHITE COLOR S3 on one side and MI HYANG on the other. Then I took a swing video of her tee shot at #11. Maybe I’m wrong, but imagine Angela Park in her prime...but better! She uses Callaway Apex Pro irons.
Speaking of the 11th hole, this is one of the four holes with new tee boxes this year, although they’re not in use for the tournament. This is good news for the ladies, as the new tee box is at 230 yards...the regular one is 185 yards. The new tee at #12 is around 30 yards behind the regular one and the new tee at #5 is way back...40-50 yards at least. Will the LPGA use these tee boxes in the future?
While waiting at the 14th tee, Mi Hyang invited me to the food grill, where I wolfed down an Italian sausage sandwich with gooey chopped onions. IS SHE THE BEST?! One of the ams asked Mi Hyang where her U.S. base was. She said Columbia, SC. She has a Gamecock headcover on her driver and was asked if she attended the U. of South Carolina. She said no, the headcover was from her coach. Her English is very good.
I left Lee’s group for a while and meandered about and picked up swing videos of Nicole Castrale, Belen Mozo, and Maria Uribe. Reunited with Mi Hyang and followed her group to the end at #18. I think they finished at -9, which might have been the top score at that time, but I knew it wouldn’t hold up. I think the winners finished at -15.Thanks for the info and detailed report, Phil! =) Actually, I did see some of her instructional videos on YouTube, and I saved a few of them on my cell. I'll look for your past posts in the Tournament Report section. MI HYANG IS THE BEST!!!

www.thestate.com/sports/golf/article13930709.htmlThis link has a very nice article about MHL and her coach, Puggy Blackmon of USC. The article mentions her home course in South Carolina. Yes, Phil is definitely an MHL expert! All of his MHL posts are very informative as well as interesting. Yes, it was extremely nice of MHL to send me the auto pic and glove! Thank you again, Mi Hyang! =) In addition to her swing off the tee (her shoulder turn is extreme), which I can watch "all day," she appears to be a nice person with character and class. Based on the handwriting on the envelope that she sent me, it appears that she addressed it herself, which tells me that she does not "take herself too seriously," as many athletes today most certainly do. I appreciated her kind gesture so much (because she was under no obligation to respond to my fan letter) that I sent her a thank you card in return. Yes, on the back nine on Saturday in Rancho Mirage, there were some holes where it was only MHL's relatives, a couple of others, and me following her and Q Baek. =( In addition to wanting to see her play in person, I wanted to show my appreciation to her by supporting her play. =) So you fanboy MHL after reading an article? No, I'm not that easy... it was more like a thousand articles. Unfortunately, it wasn't "love at first write." Questions: 1. Who is (are) your favorite golfer (golfers)? 2. Who do you think is the best? Lydia?

Who is (are) your favorite golfer (golfers)? 2. Who do you think is the best? Lydia? 1) I have too many fav's to list.....maybe HYP might be my fav right now....but I have never followed any pro for more than 5-6 holes...too many pros to watch...my 1st LPGA event was the Du Maurier back in 1980.....you sound like a kid...you likely weren't even born yet. I was fanboying Jan Stephenson....back in those days....there weren't any 'lookers' on tour. I like all the pros except for the Yank diva's of Lewis, Creamer, Kerr, MW and Christina Kim...all a bunch of fake phony's....why anyone would watch them play is beyond me. 2) Currently the best?....The fake Kiwi Princess....but she has a long way to go to catch woman's GOAT #1....Mannika....but she was juiced.

You should start a thread in the 19th hole about favorite golfers, I'm sure a lot of folks would like to contribute!

Lydia Ko's first 3 starts as a LPGA member: T7, T3, T19; In Gee's T3, 2, T2. Lydia had been a pro for three months prior to her first LPGA start as a member vs In Gee who was a 4 year pro.. How about a relevant comparison, Lydia's first 3 pro starts vs In Gee's first 3 pro starts? Not knocking In Gee's performance this year, which has been awesome, but let's keep it real a little..

To say "Lydia was just a pro for four months" is really disingenuous. How about, Ko had been playing international professional events for at least two full years before she joined the LPGA, winning two of them; meanwhile, In Gee Had not played outside of Korea at all before last April (I think she might have been at one Mission Hills event before that, can't recall, but that's still Asia)?
Some Lydia fans seem to conveniently avoid talking about how many chances she had to play internationally when they talk up her 'rookie' status in 2014, but will certainly call KLPGA pros who come over to task for their experience. I do recall that Ko was basically playing top pro events at least all summer the year before she joined, and cherry picked quite a few before that as well. Experience against all the top players in the world (especially when you beat them on occasion) has to count for at least as much as playing in Korea against some of the top players in the world.
In any event, Chun has certainly been more impressive than Charley Hull or Jutanugarn, her fellow top finishers at ANA, but I have read precious few 'In Gee is the future of golf' articles in comparison to what is written about those two.
