Founders Cup is the sixth tournament of the year, there are 28 more tournaments to go in 2016.
Strangely, In Gee won't suffer in her Rolex Ranking. Some of her 2014 points are retiring completely, but she had a better 2105 than 2014 should help. Some 2014 and 2015 points are retiring but her divisor decreases. The net result is that her average will stay around 5.39 even though she hasn't played for a while.
The category she suffers the most is official money, because only her Coates earning counts thus far. However, there is an easy solution to that. She will pocket at least $810,000.00 if she defends her USWO title, the equivalent of winning 3 or 4 other tournaments.

The pebble beach pro-am should dump the celebs and have it be a joint stroke play tourney. Alternate groups between men and women. Then a playoff between the winners maybe. Don Yes...good idea...who wants to watch Bill Murray, the clown or just as bad, Chris Berman. I can't believe the USWO has never been played at Pebble.....yet they are playing it this year at a goat track nearby.

Dumbo is in need of some decent PR people. I believe this "shortcomings on apology but let's move forward" was intented to be a taking the high road response. But it came out more like "Lets put this behind us, even though u guys are axxhxxxs". Nah. She had already said the shortcomings bit several days ago. She was just acknowledging that that was a thing, but it shouldn't be that important. If she had completely ignored what she had said before, it would have been weirder. IE, she's saying, we have some issues, we'll work through them, don't treat her badly because of it.

It should host a regular tour event maybe. I think that's where the men played when Rocco holed out those shots and won. I assume that Pebble Beach didn't want the women so they get stuck on a remote golf course. I'm sure the corrupt squares that run the USGA will have choice rooms at the upscale resort. 2021 will be great when Olympic hosts the women. The men are stuck at Torrey Pines, an incredibly overrated dump.

It's kinda remote.....I don't think the USWO will be well attended....what do you think? Ya...2021 will be awesome. Another overrated goat track is Harding Park...what a rip off for non-residents.....I played it twice but never reached in my pocket....part of a Prez Club shindig.....the only thing interesting about Harding is overlooking the water over to Olympic. Ya....I kinda thought Torrey is overrated....just a grow the rough and pinch in the fairways track to make it tough.

Back to the Founders. They are trying to improve the tournament by adding more bleachers. Also new is a party afterwards.
On another note.. There will be no valet parking at the ANA. I wonder if that will cause attendance to suffer more. I hate riding the buss, so I might skip one day.

According to web site, maybe just fan cars. Security reason I guess. Because you could use valet parking last year.

Without In Gee in the field, my sentimental favorite is So Yeon, hope she starts to turn it around.
My intellectual favorite is Brooke Henderson; she's on a clear march to a top 3 ranking, along with Ha Na and In Gee.

Really? ?....man you Mericans luv the Canadian Princess....as I've said before........ I think I only saw Brooke play 2 holes at the CP CWO...and I was there 6 days and avg 8 hrs/day.....and it might have been because I really wanted to watch another pro in her group.....yes...I have no honor.

Golf Channel has an article about The Founders Cup, but what I found interesting was how much credit Mell gives to the Koreans (OK, it's implied but clearly there) for the interest the PGA suddenly has in the LPGA: Risky Founders Cup Pays Dividends for LPGAExcerpt: Actually, it sounds like Finchem is more interested in what Whan did in embracing globalization than in the Founders... Mell finally admits as much a little later:

Lotte is a Korean company, not Japan. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lotte_(conglomerate)Lotte Co., Ltd. (ロッテ, Hangul: 롯데) is a multinational food, chemicals and shopping corporation with headquarters in South Korea and Japan. Lotte was first established in June 1948 in Tokyo, by Takeo Shigemitsu (also known as Shin Kyuk-ho). With the money he earned in Japan, Shin expanded to his home country, South Korea with the establishment of Lotte Confectionery in Seoul on April 3, 1967. Lotte eventually grew to become South Korea's eighth largest business conglomerate.

But as I've said before...Mericans and Merican females are not really interested in women's golf. It really can be summed up quite simply......no Merican based corporation was willing to sponsor the 1st fake major....nuff said....and it is pretty said that if ANA didn't commit...Whan would have drained the LPGA's balance sheet to hold the event last year. I've said it before....move the LPGA HQ to Seoul.

The women's Am game may be the fastest growing golf segment...but we've heard it before...as fast as many women enter the game...they exit just as fast. Most women play 'hit and giggle' golf....it's very rare to find keen, addicted competitive women golfers....especially in North America....how many on this site can say they know female golfers who are addicted, golf equipment ho's who often upgrade their equipment and watch a lot of GC, tournaments, etc?.....likely very few...if any at all. e.g.) I played golf with a young lady last Friday who is the captain of her Canadian university golf team.....she doesn't follow women's golf (LPGA)...she had a bag full of G30 irons and woods, Volkey wedges....when I asked if she was playing a stiff or regular shaft in her G30 driver...she had no answer/no idea...huh? ? Look at some of the people we know who write golf blogs with some focus on the women's game...Happyfan, TonyJ, Constructuvist, Anthony.....hmmmm....all males...yes I know there are a few women who write golf blogs too.....but it's the male sector that pretty well fuels all things golf. It's the avid, addicted golf equipment ho male golfers who really keep the golf industry afloat.....as in many things in life ....it's an 80/20 rule....20% make up for 80% of sales/revenues.
