You forgot about Grace Park & Nike...I remember seeing a cardboard display of her in a golf shop years ago. Grace's Nike endorsement was, I believe, kinda minor league, relatively speaking. Remember the hoopla when Nike gave Kelli Kuehne a $1M....I believe Juli was outspoken about it...classic Yank jealousy.

Thanks for the challenge: 1980...St. Georges...the winner was Pat Bradley at -15, despite calling a penalty on herself in the final round. Nancy Lopez was -7. Jan Stephenson was outside the top-21 scores. Any sugar for the low Cannuck, Sandra Post (-1)? Nope....I was all-in on Jan. Do you have any notes in your archives on Barb Bunkowsky-Scherbak? My dad was friends with Larry Bunkowsky of Burlington Springs...I played there many times as a kid. When Barb saw my Dad at the Peter Jackson Classic in 1980....I think this was the name before the Du Maurier ...she walked over to the ropes and gave my dad a big hug ....all the spectators were wondering who is this guy?....The Smiling Buddha, Sr. Sr. was an avid, very competent golfer and loved to watched golf....men and female tour....who picked up the game in his last 30's...but he was no fanboy like his son.

Even though she is a math genius, IGC is really struggling to learn English and I get the impression she doesn't really care one way or the other. She is under extraordinary pressure and wasting time studying English may hurt her game. I guess if she really wants, she could hire NYC's tutor for a couple of years.

Dumbo's Italian will teach her the language of LUV.

Do you have any notes in your archives on Barb Bunkowsky-Scherbak? Well, since I wasn't there I'll have to rely on other sources. I tried several choices within the Google Newspaper Archive, but didn't find her name in the final scores of the 1980 Peter Jackson Classic. Unfortunately, newspapers were biased against women's golf (probably still true), so they would not show as many scores compared to the PGA Tour. She must have finished below the top-24; Jan Stephenson was 22nd at +4. I never heard of Barb before, but it turns out she picked up one career LPGA win, the 1984 Chrysler-Plymouth Charity Classic at Upper Montclair CC. Another revelation: I had no clue this event was also played at NJ courses in Middletown, Lincroft, and Chatham during the '80s. I wish they could go back to those places. ********* Tony, if you're reading this, pass the word to the LPGA that lpga.com does a rotten job of recording their tournament history. If a tournament gets dropped by the tour (ex: Takefuji, Corning, Ginn, etc.), all that grouped history goes right down the drain. Yes, I can look up an individual player like Bam Bam and see how she did at those events, but that's Mickey Mouse piecemeal. BTW, if you click the Results tab under Juli Inkster's profile, her tournaments results only go back to 1992! How pathetic is that? I'm shocked to say that pgatour.com is not much better (can't be for lack of funds). I wanted to look up Brandel Chamblee's one tour victory, the '98 Greater Vancouver Open (mr3putt, were you there?), but they have nothing. ********** ON THE OTHER HAND... I can go to klpga.co.kr and look up Sharon's first Dream Tour event in 2008 and give you everyone's score for this two-day event...and give you everyone's hole-by-hole scorecard...and give you everyone's tee time from #1 or #10 and who they played with. Likewise, I can give you the same info from lpga.or.jp on Bo Mee's first Japan tourney in 2011.

Phil I've been to the GVO/ACC several times but only one day at a time and never needing to open my wallet....all corporate tix....I wouldn't waste my money watching minor league stuff.

Has anyone heard Dumbo try to speak English? Just curious. You forgot about Grace Park & Nike...I remember seeing a cardboard display of her in a golf shop years ago. I thought In Gee got her Dumbo nickname because of her incredibly sensitive hearings. That should be an asset when it comes to learning and speaking new languages. I remember In Gee spoke a little English during her interviews after she won 2015 USWO in Lancaster. So Yeon speaks English like a pro now, but how well did she speak before she joined LPGA in 2012? I'm sure HappyFan knows. Updated: Evidently, in a video, So Yeon conducted the 2011 USWO press conference in well spoken English. So Yeon and Hee Kyung Seo both spoke very good English back in 2011; I still have their interviews on Golf Central post US Open saved somewhere. In Gee seems to speak English all right; not fluent by any means, but her accent isn't too hard to understand. She communicates with her English speaking caddie well enough. She spoke a few sentences in Lancaster, and gave most of her winner's talk at the Japan Women's Open in English (with a little Japanese, but NO KOREAN). Why, here is the video of her at the award ceremony! She starts in Japanese, then goes into English.

Only 120 in the final field, same as last year. I assume that's due to limited daylight.

Yup...I made the mistake of posting 120 players into this thread when I meant to put it into the Bahamas event.

We've officially entered the Coates week; can Lydia Ko survive the onslaught of KLPGA veterans?

The pressure is starting to mount for IGC. Anything lower than a top 5 will be a huge disappointment.

The pressure is starting to mount for IGC. Anything lower than a top 5 will be a huge disappointment. A top 5 would be tremendous! I would settle for finishing ahead of Lydia Ko. In 2015, other than her win at USWO, In Gee was outside of top 25 in all non-Korea LPGA events. It would be reassuring if she finishes inside top 25 for a change. The plot thickens.
