Great read. Thanks. They are both missed at Nabisco.

I'm glad Winbee and SYR don't like Ko....rivalries are better when they don't like one another. Seems like these two aren't the only ones who don't like Ko. Ms. Pouty Face is mouthing off again....she's such a whiner. Quit worrying about what Lydia may or may not think about herself....concentrate on your own game and maybe you might not finish 2nd again. "Ko might be one of the most well liked No. 1s in the history of the men’s or women’s game. Stacy Lewis was asked if there’s any frustration in trying to overtake a player who is so well liked and so unassuming." “It’s a little frustrating,” Lewis said. “I think she knows how good she is, but I wish she would kind of own up to it sometimes, to be `I'm the No. 1 player in the world, and I'm pretty good.’ But she's really humble about it, and she doesn't really want anybody to think that about her. So it's almost frustrating in a way, because you want her just to be a little more confident in it and a little bit more, `I'm the best player here and I'm going to win.’ You know she’s thinking that inside, but she just doesn't really portray that.” http://www.golfchann...as-lpga-season/ Meant to comment on this yesterday. I don't think Stacy meant to be mean or anything with these comments. But who cares if she did? Whether it's Stacy or Se Ri or Annika or anybody else, Lydia should just be herself. As long as she is not breaking rules or being disrespectful, she should act as she wishes. Bottom line is you can't please everyone. Act humble and people say you should acknowledge your own greatness. But do that and they say you're arrogant...even if you're telling the truth. So be happy, Lydia, and do you.

Would openly disliking rivals be good for the LPGA, a la Serena Williams and Maria Sharapova? www.si.com/vaultThe LPGA has survived bad blood before. Go to the above link, search on Dottie Mochrie, click on the Oct. 5, 1992 article ("Unfriendly Fire"), and you can read about her 6-year grudge with Danielle Ammaccapane...or read it below. I have no doubt about surviving a rivalry, my point is that how much good it is for the tour depends on who the rivalry is between. If Na Yeon Choi and Hee Young Park don't get on and start slinging arrows...the Korean press will care...but I doubt Sports Illustrated does an article in America. If Michelle Wie and Paula Creamer start bickering in the press...that could raise the profile of the tour IF at least one of them is winning...with Dottie, that's an American POY winner and proven winner. Makes sense. Sure, Lydia v Inbee could spark something as they are fighting for the top spot and are known to the mainstream American press more than less successful players, regardless of nationality. But what would Inbee have to gain as a married woman in her mid to late 20s bickering with a teenager? It would look like Inbee was bitter at a young phenom usurping her position atop the tour.

I think when Ko first took world number one Park and Ryu thought Ko only was world number one because she had played less events so doing well in a single event would boost her ranking more. Ryu made some comment about Park being the true number one player. I don't know if they have any feud beyond that.

LPGA fans should applaud her success. And if there is a battle for #1 every year between Inbee and Lydia (and In Gee), then all the better.

Since when do So Yeon and Inbee not like Ko? Ko gave So Yeon some candy bars in her locker, and So Yeon thanked her on instagram: So Yeon Gets a Gift from LydiaI don't think they are candy bars... I believe they're phone cases. Lydia's note even says that in English. Anyway, it was nice of Lydia to gift So Yeon. I understand that some people would like to see bitter rivalries but I prefer intense friendly competition.

Phil How you find this stuff?....this is great. I don't think the Pepper and Danielle rivalry was talked about much....I never knew it existed or maybe it's too long ago for this old dog to remember.
The Ammacapane's can be nasty...remember the etiquette dust up with Wie as an Am at a USWO with Danielle?...and how about Dina shaming the small Japanese teen volunteer who was suppose to loop at the 2010 Safeway.
I attended the Safeco from 1992-1998...Safeco was a good event.
Both Dan Wilson and John Killeen were fired by Aza....I guess Aza really wanted a loop she could marry.

Regarding the Mochrie/Dani A. article, I read it at the library when it came out, and I don’t forget dirt like that! I'm too lazy to look it up now, but I think B.J. said he was threatened by Dani's dad at the 2003 USWO. I never saw Dottie play in person, as my first LPGA visit was in 2005. Wish I could say the same about Dani A.; alas, she is in The Archives - Round Two of the 2008 Sybase: I hung back at # 12 and waited for the group of Ai Miyazato, N.Y. Choi and Danielle A. Ai’s army was in full force, but Choi was worth checking out too. On the downswing, she has a partial Lorena Ochoa head turn.
As for Danielle A...what a train wreck. At # 12, she hit it left, had to pitch out and got a bogey. Number 13 is a par-4 that goes uphill and then downhill to the left. Her tee shot was a low bullet to the left of about 192 yards. But, she scrambled to make par. At # 14, her tee shot went straight right into the trees. She hit a clunky shot from under the trees, which did not reach the fairway and ended up with a 7. Number 15 is the par-3 over the pond. Ai got on with a hybrid. Choi hit a superb iron inside of Ai, but missed her birdie. D.A. hit an iron straight right, landing in the brook to the right of the players’ bridge. She carded a double bogey and I had seen enough.

Here ya go. espn.go.com/golf/story?id=1577822You've seen BJ...he's no shrimp...at least 6'2" if not taller.....he should have taught Dani's dad a lesson if he was threatening MW and himself. In my books...ya stand up for yourself, your family and your friends and sometimes not necessarily in that order. I've never watched Dani or Dina...nor why would I...they just seem like a couple of b*tches....Dani was out of line scolding MW. But I don't buy that BJ doesn't know golf etiquette as he has claimed in another article...both he and MW should know better ......playing golf at that level of competitive golf...BJ is/was supposedly a low single digit cap....he should know most golf etiquette. Seems like Pumpkin Ridge is not kind to the Amacappane's.....this happened in 2003 on the Witch course...Dina in 2010 on the Ghost course.
