For all her whining, Jenny seems to have found her form today: 5 under after 8 holes.

This is it, SeoulSisters members... This is our last chance, our last day, our last round, to support the Sisters in the 2024 season. Just one stroke, Haeran, I think that's all you need, one stroke, I believe in you so much... Hae! Ran! Ryu! Not so soon. We’ve still got Ina to support at Q school. Of course we’ll support the sisters today. Great Sunday night TV awaits me in England Not a great year for the sisters, Thailand is having better success on the LPGA and Japan with 2 majors and ROY, but reinforcements are on the way. China is catching up too. Hae Ran+Ina Yoon is the best 1-2. On the home front the American sisters are far weaker than the ABC. But good news is Yealimi looks like the #1 now. I'm very happy A Lim won again and Amy won her major. Go sisters!

Incredible result from Jeeno. Angel didn't lose this, Jeeno won it after eagling 17 and birdieing 18 both yesterday and today.
Lydia gave it her best shot. Kudos on her fantastic season.
Haeran, alas, left her last putt in the jaws allowing Furue to capture the Vare by a stroke.

Congrats to Jeeno Thitikul on earning the big bucks as the winner of the 2024 CME Group Tour Championship. And congrats to Ayaka Furue on winning the 2024 Vare Trophy.

Karnak is looking into the future... Thitikul is definitely winning tomorrow. Unless Korda shoots a 62, which might also happen. But I predict this will be over by the 9th hole. I knew she was going to win although it was closer than I thought it would be. I think there will be three Sisters in the top ten, one in the top five. Yup! One in the top five: Narin An 5th, two in the top ten: Amy 6th, Hye Jin 8th. OK, I predicted that she would make a birdie to put it away on the final hole, and instead she made a par while Haeran missed a birdie by inches, but it still came down to the final hole and once again the Koreans were heartbroken, so I got that right. I am scarily good at this!

In the spirit of piling on the Koreans after the whistle ...
Congrats to Yuna! She didn't play this week, but still beat out Na Rin An and BadA$$ to be the 2024 SSQ. Crappy season, crappy ending. Woulda been nice if they had gotten one of the three things I was rooting for this week, but it's just been that kind of two years.
This is a transitional period for the Sisters, and though I'm not overly optimistic at this point, hopefully some of these newbies to the tour are going to pick up the pace in 2025.
There are reasons to be hopeful. Haeran is the best ball striker on tour, possibly on the planet. It's time for her to step up and become the superstar she is capable of being. Which means, she needs to practice her putting to the exclusion of everything else in the off season. She lost the Vare because she lost to Furue all four rounds this week. She wins one round and she has the Vare. Heck, just one more putt falls and she might have had the Vare.
Of course I'm looking forward (to put it mildly) to Ina Yoon coming over here. But I don't think it's fair to expect her to save the Koreans in her first year over here. She hasn't even played a single LPGA event in her career. But I don't see why Im, Yu Jin or So Mi can't become stars if Furue and Saigo did. They were all multiple winners on the KLPGA. And Hye Jin has the ability to become a multiple winner if she can get out of her own way.
It's going to be tough in 2025. The Japanese are sending SIX of their top players to Q-Series this year. The KLPGA just one (OK, two including Sehee Lee, but she's not a top player). But the Koreans have at least ten players with the capability of winning on the LPGA. If just half of them play to their potential next year, they could turn things around. Hopefully Ina will be a shot in the arm for the rest of them and the Koreans will rally. It would be really hard to watch them not get out of the preliminaries at the International Crown in front of their home crowd.
Hwaiting!

Most importantly, Jin Young Ko was T12 after you recalled her heroics during her 2021 run. Oops, wrong about Amy, but she still finished in the top ten, so my prediction was still right. Also, I wrote about Jin Young in 2021 because someone said that we need someone to celebrate Jin Young, so I took it upon myself to do that. Context: the discussion in that thread was: I started that post: "OK, continuing a discussion from the Gainsbridge thread, allow me to talk about how great Jin Young Ko is!" I never said she would win this week, although I was hopeful she would given her past record here and her tendency to rise to the occasion when she needs to.

Shout out to Na Rin An for her fifth-place finish. Kind of wish that she had finished the last two holes better. But it is what it is, still a really good tournament.
Kudos to Hye Rin Choi and Amy Yang for top ten finishes. Amy Yang likes these big money Tournaments, two top ten this year her win and this one.
It was Vintage Sei Young Kim with a final round sixty-three. Nice bounce back with a sixty-five by Jenny Shin.
Also, a final round of sixty-three by Lydia Ko to top off her great year, three wins, Gold Medal and LPGA Hall Of Fame Kudos to the three KLPGA Rookies that came over, CME Ranking Jin Hee Im 24, So Mi Lee 71, Yu Jin Sung 81.
I wouldn't worry too much about the Korean golfers win total this year. They had chances but didn't finish some when they had a chance. Got unlucky sometimes when they played great the Final round, but someone scored better.
I expect a bounce back next year starting with Jin Young Ko when she fixes her driving tee shots left sometimes.
Also, expect the LPGA to be more competitive with the strong players coming over.

I didn't watch any of this ... you'd think the GolfWeek website would have a story by now about Mariner Alex, who just upped and quit the tour today. I first saw her milling around the clubhouse area after she passed her USWO qualifier at Neshanic Valley in 2009.
