I turned the TV off when Rio Takeda dropped in her birdie on 18 to tie Marina Alex to go to bed. The final group of Wackie-moto, Noh, and Eeyore Jutanugarn had no chance for victory. Glad to see Yealimi get the birdie on the last.
I didn't know how long the playoff would last and so had no regrets when I found out this morning that it went six holes. The repeat broadcast showed most of the day's action up to Takeda's birdie on 18 in regulation then jumped right to the last hole of the playoff. At last year's Malaysia tournament, they showed the first 45 minutes of the live broadcast and then all nine holes of the playoff won by Celine Boutier.
Rio is impressive. Amazing eagle on 16. Welcome to the LPGA.

Rio had the same WITB when she won the JWO in September ... includes a PW and a 50 with holes drilled in them ... Google mush reason:
Two of Reo Takeda's clubs have holes in them, who won her 8th victory of the season in a tournament that also serves as a US tour. PW and a wedge with a loft angle of 50 degrees. Both of them have two holes less than 1cm in size on the back face near the sole.
This modification was done in the middle of last season, his second year as a professional. "Those two clubs were not producing the distance I expected. I wanted 4 or 5 yards (more) in carry," he said, but the problem was solved by slightly increasing the loft and lengthening the shaft. The staff of Sumitomo Rubber Industries (Dunlop), with whom he has a contract, cut them down to adjust the balance.
