UK broadcaster Sky is sticking with women's golf to see Charley & Co finish and delaying coverage of the PGA. Girl power in action! Same is true with USA network on our side of the Atlantic. Not quite girl power as the PGA is and has been showing on Golf Channel which is why the women were relegated to USA network. But they are continuing coverage instead of switching to their regularly scheduled rerun programming...

Oh crap, MHL has the first (7 AM UK time) tee time on Friday, so she'll be done when GC kicks in at 7 AM EST. The only good news from that is there will be lesser wind from 6 MPH to 16 MPH in the morning ... however, it's 16 MPH to 22 MPH from Noon to 4 PM (per Accuweather). There will be on and off rain showers from tonight to 6 AM (UK time), but dry after that.

HappyFan, aptrojanThe deadline for Ina Yoon to sign up for LPGA Q-School Final Qualifying Tournament (previously Q-Series) is October 8, 2024. What's the possibility Ina will sign up this year? HF probably has better intel than me. Id guess the same chance as AP has of making the cut in Boston. Pretty good 👍 According to this article, it sounds like she is planning on going to Q Series this year.

Round 1
Ugh, not a great day at all. The Koreans just have not done well on this course in the past, and unless something truly amazing happens, I think it will continue this year.
Well, keep hwaiting! I'll tune in tomorrow only if a Sister is at or near the top, because that's the only way they will show them.

Round 1 Ugh, not a great day at all. Don't look up, Inky ... the Forum management just pooped all over your team ... and MHL & JTibs are never permitted to sit at the online "cool table" with The New Ko, The Yangster, and the annual KLPGA imports.
********
Round One interview:
Q. Just talk about your round today. How did you feel the performance went today for you?
MI HYANG LEE: First thing was I had really good patience on the golf course, I think. I was a little annoying to my caddie, as well, but he helped me calm down a little, as well, so thanks to my caddie. I had just one three-putt that was a bogey, but the other ones I hit a really good long putt and then good par save, a lot of good up-and-down.
Tricky and it was windy, like 40 miles an hour, but still was -- tried to be simple golf. That worked, I think.
Q. You mentioned in your interview there that you're used to playing in links conditions. Do you feel that was an advantage for you today?
MI HYANG LEE: I think I had a good practice at the Scottish Open last week in Dundonald. It was windy, as well, and tricky golf course, as well, too. I missed the cut but still was really good practice over there.
Then heading to here a little earlier, more practice round. I think that a lot helped it.
Q. How much did you enjoy playing the Old Course today?
MI HYANG LEE: It was a lot, thousand percent. I was really honoured to play here and really enjoying now.
Q. Then just rest and get set for tomorrow; same again tomorrow? Is that the plan?
MI HYANG LEE: Yeah, try to be patient on the golf course again, and then I heard another strong winds coming, and then my tee time is 7:00 a.m. tomorrow, so hopefully be a little died down than today, less wind than today.
But who knows. Just wish me luck.

I like 'em fine, but experience tells me that they don't tend to follow up good rounds with good rounds. I will be right in the front of the line congratulating them if I'm wrong.

If Charley Hull wins, smoking will be cool again.
The wiley veteran Jiayi is not too far back and MHL has won in Scotland before. There is hope!

If Charley Hull wins, smoking will be cool again. The wiley veteran Jiayi is not too far back and MHL has won in Scotland before. There is hope!2/3 of the Sisters are above the projected cut line going into Friday, so there is hope. The glass is still half full... Go Jiyai and MHL, go Jenny and Hyo Joo! There is almost always hope after one round.
Although I understand that the comment was made for its amusement value, smoking will never be cool with me. The 'legal' nicotine pushers addicted my mother and killed her over decades. I almost wish that they'd given her meth or heroin, at least she would not have had to suffer for so long.

Impressive from Nelly, Charley and Lilia all in the same group. Finished R2 and currently all at the top of the leaderboard. Nelly 1st, the others T2. I sense with this being St Andrew's and with all its history one of the big beasts will win it. Nelly doubly determined to stop Lydia. Let's see if JTibs in the afternoon session can shoot low again.

Not a great day for MHL, but it had to be a lift by making a birdie at #18 ... can't find any pics of her, so far.
****
Hey, they just showed JTibs about 2.5 hours into the broadcast ... not a view when she opens with five pars ... then she appears when she misses a par putt.
****
The Zhangster chopped her ball into the walls of two pot bunkers ... now +5 for the day.
****
It's hard to see in this pic, but the broadcast clearly showed that Minjee slew and skinned a Holstein cow for her sweater.

3 ladies from the same group sitting 1 2 3 on the leaderboard after 2 days. That's gotta be a first.

Ana Pelaez Trevino shot 146 (+2), but has 'DQ' next to her name. What happened?
**********
Lotte World's swing is an optical illusion ... from behind it looks like an over-the-top pull hook ... her score is not an optical illusion.

Another addition to Minjee's ugly sweater collection.
