I've been reading that they are expecting the morning waves on day one to face high winds but that it will calm down in the afternoon. So those who are in the afternoon-morning waves for the first two days will have an advantage over those in the opposite waves.
Jin Young is fortunately in the afternoon wave on day one, so that's a break.

Why there are always so few KLPGA stars in these events:
Basically, if there is a Major on the KLPGA happening, you are forbidden to play a foreign event that week. Hence the Hanwha prevents any KLPGA stars from going to the British. The penalty is a ten-event suspension.
It's even worse if you play in the LPGA event in Korea, which is no longer sanctioned by the KLPGA. There, you will get a 100 million won penalty in addition to a suspension.
I can't tell you how lame this is. Yamashita has played in four Majors this year (was she at Chevron, too?). No KLPGA player has been in more than one LPGA event this year. They are going to kill the international potential of these ladies by not allowing them to get that experience.

Hanwha wasn't a Major in 2013, but I believe So Yeon Ryu had to defend her Title or get some kind of penalty. I think she changed her Sponsorship from Hanwha to Hanna Bank just before or just after the Tournament

Yes, MeYou is five-for-five this year and has made the cut in the last six majors.

In other news, the field is posted for the Sony JLPGA Championship (Sept. 5-8) ... it includes Bianca, Yuri, Jasmine, CW, Furoo, Minami Katsu, Sharon and Baby Ronni.

My field rating for this event is 84.5%, the same as it was last year. My breakdown is 82% from the LPGA Priority List and 87% from the Rolex World Rankings. This is one of the very rare times that the Rolex Ranking is higher than the Priority List. The reason is that the Priority List rating is lowered because there are fewer players from the LPGA teeing it up because they share this event with the LET. The Rolex Ranking is much higher because there are many top ranked players from other tours teeing it up. All of the top 30 players in the world will be teeing it up, and 46 of the top 50.
Other Stuff: Ally Ewing missed the cut last week for the first time this year, putting an end to her cut streak at twenty-two. Lauren Coughlin becomes the third multi-winner on tour this year. She joins Nelly Korda (6 wins) and Hanna Green (2 wins). It has been an amazing year for USA players as Coughlin's victory was their eleventh this year. Thailand is second with four victories, no other country has more than two. The LPGA has played twenty-two tournaments this year, and USA players have won half of them. Ayaka Furue registered her tenth top ten in Scotland last weekend, no other player has more than eight. The Louise Suggs Rookie of the Year race has gotten even tighter than last week. Mao saigo has a very narrow lead with 518 points. Gabriela Ruffles finished in sixth place in Scotland raising her second place total to 484 points. Jin Hee Im (452), Nataliya Guseva (279), and So Mi Lee (256), round out the top five.
Rolex Rankings Movement: Jin Young Ko moves up a spot to Number three this week, as Amy Yang drops a spot to fourth place. Once again it was Lauren Coughlin who makes the most important move, leaping up from 26 to 14. Esther Henseleit continues her meteoric rise, vaulting up from 42 to 29. Gabriela Ruffles jumps from 46 to 41. Sarah Schmelzel climbs from 71 to 64. Outside of the top 100, Lucy Li hurdles up from 142 to 122.
In the all-important Race to the CME Globe, where finishing in the top 100 is a must to keep playing regularly next season: Esther Henseleit wrapped up her 2025 playing card as she hurdles all the way up from 53 to 25. The following players still have work to be done, but improved their chances: Caroline Inglis 98 to 91, Mary Liu 97 to 92, Savannah Grewal 100-93, Haeji Kang 102-94.

Not surprising since KLPGA players don't even play in the BMW anymore whereas the Toto field is littered with JLPGA entrants.
I think just bad for timing this year with the a Olympics pushing The Open back. Perhaps if it didn't align with a KLPGA major this year, we may have seen Ina Yoon in Scotland.

HappyFan, aptrojanThe deadline for Ina Yoon to sign up for LPGA Q-School Final Qualifying Tournament (previously Q-Series) is October 8, 2024. What's the possibility Ina will sign up this year?

It’s Thursday morning, the weather is bad across the UK. Good luck to all the ladies in this weather. Looks just as bad on Friday. We could be looking at +10 to make the cut

MHL with Yuban and Hewson at the start of the afternoon wave. Maybe they'll make Friday's broadcast window, which I'll be watching.

Ear muffs in August, that's just great ... Home of Golf, my azz ... Ginny is -1 thru six holes.

HF probably has better intel than me. Id guess the same chance as AP has of making the cut in Boston. Pretty good 👍

A rough day for Yealimi at the office on the wrong side of the draw.
Did Atthaya pull a Cassius Clay and now officially goes by Jeeno? Looks like it based on the Rolex website and leaderboard.

Woo-hoo, MHL got it to -2 thru 13 holes ... but she's on the front nine with the nobodies ... will GC show her?
G. Hall made a two on the par-4 9th ... can she celebrate with Betty the dog here, or is she only at Dundonald?
JTibs made a 3 on the par-5 14th.

Charley, Nelly and Lilia all performing well together. I think Jenny Shin’s caddie home course is St Andrew’s so he must have passed on some good intel.
