Only 120 pros in the field, so today's qualifier is unusually strong ... includes Goose, Dr. Noh, YJS, Unlucky 5, Malia Nam, Chairwoman Mao, Jing Yan, The Ice Cream Princess, Grewal, Inglis, Hartlage, So Mi Lee, Harigae, Mack Attack, Muni and J. Song.
This link has the list of 24 juniors that will join them:
I might go Friday ... they moved the public parking to a different location, which would allow me to avoid the head-banging process of driving into downtown Jersey City at the end of the day.

This should be the last qualifying for Yealimis career. Right now top 2 with Unlucky 5.

This should be the last qualifying for Yealimis career. Right now top 2 with Unlucky 5. Yealimi beat Sophia Schubert in playoff to qualify for Mizuho Americas Open. She's a chance to finish what she almost did in 2019 Portland Classic; from Monday qualifier to the eventual champion. You're right, the first reshuffle will take place next week and her 2024 priority will take a quantum leap for the better.

If Schubie won, that would have been a greater playoff upset than Pernilla beating Queen Bee at Ana! And how does Emma Talley get yet another tournament invite? Annie has 0. This is as close to a home game as it gets!

It's a good thing they are going to have the first reshuffle next week. Because Jin Hee Im is the twenty reserve in this Tournament. The only one from Q-School listed is Robyn Choi who was first. I don't believe the reshuffle will help So Mi Lee. I just don't want Jin Hee Im to fall too far back on ROY race. Otherwise, it doesn't much matter to me because I am caring less and less about the LPGA. Because they pretend that the Korean golfers aren't even there on the Broadcast.

MHL's second new golf course in two weeks ... the two-shot collection below shows a venue quite different from UMCC. Yes, the few trees there are not sprigs, but almost none of them come into play. It might remind her of those new courses around the Incheon airport ... meaning 100% artificial (LNGC was built on top of an old garbage dump).

MHL gets Sagstrom and Grace Kim on 1st two days. Sags was quite friendly to me at 2017 USWO ... I asked for a picture at the practice green and she offered to be in one with me, so I did that. Don't know if she is still that cheery ... I observed her in the UMCC dining room last Saturday ... looked and acted all-business with her loop and some guy (coach?) ... of course, it was a different situation. Kim doesn't interest me, although I haven't watched her in person before. I think last Saturday was the first time I saw Sags play in person.

Yealimi with an atrocious tee time but as expected emerging from the Quali ranks - playing with 2 volatile players in Jodi and WL Hsu, meaning one of the two will be in the top 5 after Friday.
Gina Kim with 2 Epson tour grad nobodies, but that's on her own admission. Too Jekhyl/Hyde in her career so far.

It's good to see MHL playing with top players in her group, she's come a long way back in recent years! She has been better than Hye Jin the last 6-12 mos..in fact she's easily been one of the top 5 sisters on the LPGA in that span 👍

Speaking of top-players, Andrea Lee and Xi Yu Lin are grouped with .... The Pink One ... who has seven starts ... and seven trunk slams. It looks like "grouping welfare" usually given to Yani.

LIVING THE PRO LIFE DEPARTMENT: Asterisk Talley (around age 15) will play in one or two matches at the U.S. Women's Amateur Four-Ball Championship in San Antonio on Wednesday ... followed by her first round in Jersey City on Thursday (at least she has a 1:55 PM tee time).
******
Per recent reports, Yana Wilson(a) will skip college and report to the Mission Hills blast furnace in late August. Her earlier commit to the Oregon Ducks was Plan 'B' if she changed her mind (which she probably won't).
Her website (yes, she has one) has this posting: YANA's DRIVER TRACKMAN STATS (2023)
Club Speed 101
Club Path 1.9
Attack Ang 4.8
Total Yds 272
Uh huh ... okay ... trust, but verify ... I'll try to verify if I go Friday.

My field rating for this event is a super 80%, way up from 68.5% last year. I guess paying for the players hotel has really made this a must to play event Nine of the top ten players in the world will be teeing it up this week. Lilia Vu (injury) is the only player missing. The Monday local qualifiers this week are: Lauren Peter (USA) -5 Yealimi Noh (USA) -4 It was an unusually strong field trying to qualify for this event, with the following notables among the players NOT qualifying: Sophie Schubert (USA) -4 (lost playoff), Mao Saigo (JPN) -3, Jennifer Song (USA), -2, Jeongeun Lee5 (KOR) -2, So Mi Lee (KOR), -1, Ilhee Lee (KOR) -1, Lucy Li (USA) -1, Muni He (CHN) +2, Soo Bin Joo(KOR) +2.
Other Stuff: How unusual was the final result at the Cognizant Founders Cup? Third place finisher Gabriela Ruffles was closer to the players who finished in 64th place, then she was to the player who finished in second place. Chanettee Wannasaen missed the cut and had her cuts made streak snapped at seventeen straight. Nelly Korda's seventh place finish was her 6th top ten of the year which leads the tour. Brooke Henderson is next with five. In one of the closest races in a very long time, Gabriela Ruffles retakes the lead for the Louise Suggs Rookie of the Year with 276 points. She is followed by Jin Hee Im (254), Mao Saigo (185), Mone Inami (149), and Austin Kim (135). USA players continue to dominate this year, as Rose Zhang's victory was the seventh for an American player this year in just eleven tournaments. They also have three second place finishes.
There was plenty of movement in the Rolex Rankings this week by LPGA players worth reporting: Nelly Korda continues to widen her huge first place lead, as she is at the top for an eighth consecutive week and 45th week overall. Rose Zhang makes one of the most important moves of the year, leaping from No.22 to No.6. This pretty much assures her a spot on the Olympic team this year where she has to finish in the top fifteen. Madelene Sagstrom catapults from 62 to 34. Anna Nordqvist climbs from 61 to 55. Gabriela Ruffles vaults from 83 to 59. Peiyun Chien advances from 117 to 86. Pajaree Anannarukarn Improves from 106 to 91. Wichanee Meechai climbs from 210 to 152. Nataliya Guseva hurdles from 192 to 156 Mariajo Uribe surges from 227 to 173 Ruixin Liu powers her way up from 256 to 208. On a down note, Lydia Ko falls out of the top ten, falling from 10 to 12.
