LOL that's why I've given up on the LPGA. Hannah Green is this year's Boutier. A decent but unspectacular player who suddenly is winning and contending a lot. Give it six months and she'll be back in the coal mines.

And the broadcast actually showed Minji as she eagled 16 to tie Sei Young and others for 6th! Plus, a look at Jen Kupcho as she finished a nice round on 18. It would be great to see Jen get out of the doldrums... Otherwise, it's all the top of the leaderboard, Nelly, Popov, Ruffels, and the juniors.
EDIT: Of course they found Minji again as she lipped out a short putt to bogey 18.

If only Concorde was still flying and I’d get from London to NYC to see 2 of my faves paired together. In Gee and Jenny!

Lauren Peter (+6, MC) sure caught my attention on Friday as I looked down from the grandstand at the 1st tee ... this photo doesn't do justice ... has Ohio State yardage book cover and a white leather-looking stand bag with no logos ... finished two strokes behind Pernilla in the race for best gloveless blonde. She was -5 in Monday's qualifier ... from the geezer tees? Was the cup bigger?! I couldn't find anything about the qualifier course set up on the LPGA website. I don't know how Lauren survives as a pro ... picked up a win on the NXXT Tour in March, but how far can you stretch that? This was her second LPGA event ... bombed out of Dana Open last year ... she's #272 on the Epson priority list. She'll try to Monday qualify at Shoprite/Acer, hope she makes it ... and she'd fit in nicely at the Galloway pro-ams. I saw Charley at a distance from behind as she hit her approach shot at #9 ... there was no "Malbon bum" in evidence ... upon further review, I'm glad I was at a distance. I wish I had a yardage book to understand the par-4 9th hole on Friday. It's 423 from the backboard, but the tees were moved about 25 yards in front of it ... but the LPGA yardage sheet says it played 430 (the pin was back-right). It's a downhill tee shot with a creek cutting across the fairway, along with water on the left ... wish I knew how far away it was. I saw no one hit it over the creek or even try. Most players were hitting less than driver, followed by a lofted metal for the approach (stronger players like Hull, Yan Liu and Ariya 51 hit irons at that green).

Come on, Sei Young! Finish with a birdie for an outright 3rd! Nelly and Hannah are unreachable, but all the others (Furue, Kupcho, Ruffels, etc.) are going the wrong way...

Two years ago: "The LPGA is strong because of its diversity" This year: Nelly Korda wins every tournament.
For people who think this is actually exciting, what would motivate anyone to watch this? It's not Korda's fault, but seriously, if you find her as boring as I do, why would you tune in when inevitably the result is always the same? Even her biggest fans must be getting bored of this...

DFL among the Sunday finishers ... well, she has NO trunk slams this year ... yeah, that's the ticket. To complete the Friday pic below, she had white pants and white Nike shoes with green soles. I must compliment the organizers for moving the public parking to one of the lots at Liberty State Park. It was a quick and reasonably direct run from-and-to the NJ Turnpike and I didn't go anywhere near downtown Jersey City or Newark Airport.

If the golfers keep making bogeys to give Nelly a win when she doesn't do a lot to earn it. There aren't many US golfers who has good odds to win, so if foreign golfers aren't competing. By sheer numbers a US golfer can pick up a win here and there. She may get a hundred wins. She shot one under in the final round with all the golfers close to her starting the round. I didn't watch the broadcast, but saw that Hannah Green made bogy on eighteen to gift her the win. Please don't compare Nelly to the great Golfers like Woods or Annika until she wins at least three Majors. Or maybe win a few Tournaments by more than two or three strokes.

I know that they have a camera on the front nine because they keep showing Ariya, currently minus-4 on the day and tied for 2nd. But couldn't they point it in the direction of Minji Kang... she's currently minus-6 on the day.
EDIT: Minji now minus-8 on the day, playing her final hole... has moved up to T6, two strokes off the lead. What does it take to get her on tv?!?!?
You'll have to settle for my report.
Wow, Phil, that autographed Minji Kang ball is a precious object! And they didn't even screw things up with the parking in Jersey City this time... just take 202 to 30 in a week and a half for the USWO in Lancaster, everyone pronounce it "LANK-uh-ster" please. If any of the American GC announcers say it differently, ignore them. "When in Rome, do as the locals do..." so when in Lancaster... "LANK-uh-ster!" Support me, Bullfinch!
Don't pay any tolls, Phil, cross the river from Lambertville to New Hope...

I think CW is going to be a very solid player. I disagree with you on Pano though. Pano is very young, just 19, and I think she is the real thing. You are correct that she won against my weakest field rating of the year, but she has all the tools. The Player that I think might be a one win wonder is Bailey Tardy...she hasn't shown much after her victory...in fact I believe she hasn't made a single cut. I agree on Bailey, once her exemptions dry up from her W she will likely be a non factor. Both Pano and CW will have no problem retaining their cards year to year, though I think CW is more likely to W again is what I meant to say. Well, Bailey, so-called "Bailey Two" finished T34 this week. Currently CME#17 and she's earned more in five months than I do in three years. I'd say at worst that she will end up like Lauren Coughlin or someone like that. Maybe never winning again but surviving on the tour, making a living playing a sport. Traveling and making a living playing a game to entertain people like us...
