I don't know why anyone is surprised that they don't show Koreans golfers unless they are top five on the weekend. Top ten on weekend gets them a Cameo. It is what it is, and I don't think it will change anytime soon.
Since So Yeon was in the Focus group, I thought they would show her more than +6 Lexi Thompson and + 2 Minjee Lee. Maybe they will show her more tomorrow.
I really was expecting that So Mi Lee would be the best of the golfers that came from the KLPGA this year. Had thirty-two putts, the thing that has kept her from winning more.

Some here criticized Mission Hills for being anti-Korean. Short rough, big bombers, blah, blah blah. Anyone who actually plays golf knew it was the exact opposite. Congratulations, your wish came true. The Koreans now get to play a cow pasture. How's it working out for you Einsteins so far?

Hopefully in 10 years time or less they will relocate this to Augusta permanently once the members remove the stick from their %€¥§π

Minami Katsu wearing shorts Thursday that were close to 'Fur-oo' yellow. Maybe a small bit less fluorescent and not tinged with green. Didn't see what the real Ayaka was wearing. Madelene Sagstrom continues to be 'all in' with the Amy Yang style hat instead of a standard golf hat or visor. Madelene wears the 'bucket hat' (my wife tells me that's what it's called) more often than Amy... My God, what happened to Lexi! I'm beginning to wonder if she and Ciganda are saving themselves for the Solheim...
My occasional 'new kid in town' watch after round 1: Chanettee minus-1. Alexa even, Rose plus+1.
Predicted tv coverage on Friday: Chanettee sporadic to never, Alexa sporadic to never, Rose frequent...
Go sisters!!!

If Yealimi and Auston Kim aren't on the Solheim team, Europe will retain the cup.

If Yealimi and Auston Kim aren't on the Solheim team, Europe will retain the cup. And if Lilia's not healthy by September, yes, we'd better hope that some new faces step up out of nowhere... Korda's hot streak unlikely to last 6 or 7 months, and even if it does, she can't win the Solheim singlehandedly... even Maguire could not do it without Ciganda...

"Tiger-proofing" a golf course was a preposterous myth 15+ years ago ... and recent events have shown that any attempt at "Korda-proofing" a golf course would be equally futile ... it's just a hot streak she's on, that's all. Remember a couple of months ago how the GIC thought that Paphangkorn would rule the earth? How's that working out today? The Round One yardage was a longish 6,723 ... but all four par-3 holes were 167 or less. I see a lot of ROK flags above the cut line and Bang is only one shot below it. Btw, explain to me how there is only one ROK flag next to the winners at the Atlantic City Pitch & Putt since it was resumed in 2010?
The course set-up notes say the rough has been topped at only two inches ... I assume that's the stuff bordering the fairway, not this hay field at the 14th hole.

Yes, what’s the famous saying, “Be careful of what you wish for, you may get it!” Or is it, “Don’t wish too hard for something, you might just get what you wished for.”

"The Lilia Vu era has begun..." (I love her but she barely plays... she's injured...)
"The Rose Zhang era has begun..." (Still in full force on tv coverage and the hype machine, less so on the course...)
"The Jen Kupcho era has begun..." (Love Jen too but what has she done lately... as in the last two years...) etc., etc., etc.
Jin Young was the last to dominate for a significant time.

More bad news is Angel Yin reaggrivated her foot injury that sidelined her for months and WD today. She's arguably their best player for this format. Yealimi was 2-1 prev edition (had the best winning pct on the team), always plays well at DOW. She better not get overlooked again! Auston Kim is already the longest hitter on tour just about and can rack up birdies with the best of them.

Angel, Lilia, and amazingly Lexi kept USA afloat. I figured Angel WD on Thursday when she showed up at the bottom of the lpga.com leaderboard even though she didn't have the lowest score, actually no worse than 'the great' Lexi and last tournament's 'new kid in town' Naveed, plus+6, T122. Hope to see both Yealimi and Angel do well in my home state at the Dow... and Meijer... and Dana. Ohio stole a small section of Michigan in 1836, the Dana really 'should be' within the boundaries of Michigan... then we would have as many LPGA tournaments as New Jersey...

Jennifer Song and her exquisite good looks were the only reason to watch this rubbish. Maybe Shin (not the traitor) can salvage Friday's afternoon coverage.

ApTrojan, curious what you think about the collapse of the Pac-12? I'm a BigTen fan, MSU Spartan, bleed green and white, personally I welcome the great traditions of USC, UCLA, Oregon, and Washington to our conference. But I think a lot of BigTen fans are dubious. Not that we don't welcome your teams, they are great, they are competitive, but more that it seems impractical for many sports to travel so far cross country...

Is it too early for Stacy Lewis to worry if she can field a healthy team for the Solheim Cup? Last year's playoff duo dropped out due to injuries. Lexi has wrist issues. Her start today was wince-inducing.
Rookie Jin Hee Im had a very nice major debut as a rookie. Top Korean after round 1.
They showed a list of past winners and wow, how Mirim Lee has disappeared from the scene. She teed it up once last year at Pebble Beach and missed the cut. Last time she finished four rounds was June of 2022.
