Nice round for LC, she played well at BMW Korea and has improved each year on tour since her rookie year. GIR pct is elite, can she putt is the question..
A Yealimi sighting in red numbers woah!

I realize that Jin Young is playing terribly, but I think they've shown her once all day despite the fact she's in the broadcast window. Meanwhile they've shown every fricking shot for last place Thompson.
Jin Young is #6 in the world, a 15 time winner who has won this event in the past. She was #1 longer than anyone in history. And this is just her third event in 2024 after a long break. This is an important story and the Golf Channel couldn't care less because she's Korean.
And you wonder why I don't want to watch...

So Yeon Ryu is actually the low score in her group: Jin Young +5, Tavatanakit +5, Ryu +2. The Taiwanese teen who beat Hyo Song Lee at the Asia-Pacific Amateur is +3. Man I would have rather seen Lee here...

Now Bang just made a triple. This is the way it is these days. If I have two players I really want to see do well, they play as badly as they can. 2 bounce back birdies with a par 5 on deck! Three birdies in a row to negate the triple, then a bogey. She's hwaiting, I'll give her that. +2 on her front nine isn't great, but given it's her first time ever in the States since turning pro, not bad. Let's see if she can get back to even or better by hole 18.

Iām watching from Lima, Peru so got Spanish commentary on Golf Channel. Their coverage seems to show most players with a lot of focus on Lydia Ko at present

Can someone page Leo The Comfort Dog ... his services are required, STAT!
**********
MHL just got into the top-11 thru 14 holes and The Old Ko is the only big multi-winner among those 11 players, so this is looking good so far ... but it is early.
*********
The only amateur in the field with her portrait uploaded on the LPGA online scoreboard is Lottie Woad ... are there any people left still dismissing the impact of ANWA?
*********
This is Bang's looper from the KLPGA ... from a distance, he reminds of BJ Wie working the USWO in 2003 ... it is Hyonam Bang (her daddy, I assume)

Yujin decided to play par golf today š 18 must be real challenging if BOTH Yealim and A Lim bogeyed it. Andrea Lee again has been quietly consistently good of late too after meh 2023. I have some coin on Lyds this week, good start for her!

The 18th has a lot of water along it. I assume going for the green in two is risky, hence the occasional bogey. Jin Young ended up the low score in her group: +4 vs. +5 for the other two. Yikes. (for what it's worth, she was one under on the second nine she played. Now she just needs to keep posting under par nines the rest of the week. Simple!). Yu Jin Sung had 18 pars. Bogey free! LOL But not a bad start at all. Every time I see the name 'Lottie Woad' I think it says 'Lotte World', the theme park in Seoul:

Jen Song a rough watch right now, propelled to feature group action after Vu WD, +6 thru 13.
If there was any sense, you'd think the overworked/underpaid folks at ESPN would give Yealimi (-1) and her group - Caroline (-1), and Lindy (-2) - some airtime tomorrow!

What's the point of even watching this? We all know Korda is going to win. ZZZZZZZZZ. Why do they always claim that domination is interesting? Since the dominator (dominatrix?) gets all the attention, if you are not interested in her, you are literally out of luck; no reason to watch at all. Unfortunately, I find Nelly as interesting as watching toothpaste congeal, and with all my favorites off the leaderboard, they might as well be in Timbuktu for all the TV time they'll get. Ah well, at least there's a KLPGA event this weekend.

Might be too soon to call it, yet the inevitable may ring true. Tomorrows AM round will be telling in the favorable conditions, birdies on 3 of last 4 today to close is clutch stuff.
The returning Atthaya and Lyds are still lurking too close for comfort. Nelly hasn't toppled Jeen during this stretch, I suppose she is the final boss. Round 2... FIGHT!

That's brilliant ... if her future business manager has half a brain, she could also be Lotte Woad in the pros.

J. Song ... yes, this is considered cutting fashion by Crazy Bob.
Waitwait Zhang counting every dimple ... but I still like her.
