Ga Young took a long time looking at her chip shot on eleven and chunked it. I can't believe that these Pros don't accelerate through their chip shots. If they hit it to hard they might get lucky and hit the pin for a birdie. I am sure they must practice hitting the pitch and chip shots from the rough.
Min Byeol Kim just made another birdie, she is so talented. When she become more consistent the sky is the limit.

Hee Jeong Lim had her lowest round a plus two. She made birdie on eighteen and moved up five spots, a little positive.

Jeong Mee Hwang hit eighteen in two, I didn't know she was that long. Nice birdie after the bogey on seventeen.

Ji Young Park has made some clutch par putts. But not as big as she made from the other side of the cart path. The birdie would not been so big if she hadn't made that par. Ji Young hit the Fairway on eighteen so it's probably her Tournament. Yewon Lee doesn't drive it far enough to reach the green in two.

Congratulation to Ji Young Park for a grinding it out win. The par fives on the back nine wasn't kind to Yewon Lee. Ga Young Lee had some chances on the back nine but didn't hit good putts. Still a tie for second is pretty good.

Another ropey day for In Gee. I wonder if her appearance cheque was bigger than the winner’s cheque? Does this forum post the latest 2023 winnings/ranking on KLPGA tour?

Yewon Lee moved to top of the Points and Money Ranking. Min Byeol Kim moved to the top of the Rookie of The Year Rankings. It's because of the new change to give Majors more points.

Some thoughts:
The future looks bright for the Sisters. Yewon Lee played great almost the entire week. Her approach on the par 5 15th, which was short of the green and ended up in a bunker, was her undoing. If she had hit the green and made par or even birdie, the results might have been different. By the time she messed up on 18 it was already over.
Still, she stayed in the hunt strongly until then, and that experience is going to help her the next time and the times after that. And she is now the top money earner and tops on Player of the Year.
Ji Young Park saved her week on the 14th. She hit her drive onto the cart path way right of the fairway. She spent what felt like half an hour figuring out what to do next, before managing a drop and getting onto the green in regulation. From there she saved par and she was never in danger again. That could have easily been a double.
I'll say it again: Min Byeol Kim is giving off future-superstar vibes. She has it all: length, youth, fearlessness, and she's a decent putter. It was the highlight of my week watching her relentlessly move up the leaderboard the past three days, from 60th after round 1 to 28th after round 2 to 10th after round 3 to second. She needs to work on her short game a little, but you can't argue with a final round 67 on this course. Would not surprise me to see the big rivalry in 2025 being Min Byeol Kim vs. Min Sol Kim.
Pity Kim couldn't close it out, but asking her to shoot a final round 64 is a bit much. 67 is impressive enough. Look at that shot on the 8th hole in this highlight package. Man. (that's Inbee Park herself commenting. After Kim drained that long one on hole 7, Inbee said 'super putt... that was a super putt'. Imagine being complimented on your putting by the flatstick legend Inbee Park!).
In Gee played well for a round and a half, then I think she just mentally let go after she ended round 2 poorly and fell down the leaderboard.
It was a brutal week for some stars. Youmin Hwang has been replaced as the Rookie leader, but I fully expect her to come back strong next week. Kim will be there to greet her. Man, it's fun watching these two duke it out. And Yewon is close to being one of the few to beat the billion won in a season mark, but Ji Young Park is right there to do it as well. Who will win this year's big prizes?
Shout out to Seung Hui Roh, who followed her near miss last week with another great week; Ga Young Lee, who looked for a little while like the sure winner; Yu Jin Sung, who is quickly becoming a star; Jeong Mee Hwang and Hyo Ju You, who both had great Majors; and amateur star Hyun Jo Yoo, whose name is very similar to Hyun Ju Yoo but is no relation. Hwaiting!
Inbee didn't play but still guested as a commentator for her sponsor's event:

Lee Yewon did not move up. She has maintained her top spot on the money list since her win August 13th, approaching a month ago.
The points are close and there has been some up and down jostling over that top spot.

More points for majors.
Yes and no.
Looking back the stats show how many points players received.
Some events the winner got 70 points and others 60. I would have to look more into which events gave out more points. But some non-majors also gave out 70 points to the winner. I am going to take a wild guess and say next week is a 60 point event and the Hana Financial is a 70 point event solely based on purse size, prestige, and field.
