Contrary to popular belief Rose Zhang is not the winningest golfer in Stanford history. Andrea Lee is. Talk about short shrift. Do you live in the woods? The record is clear; Rose won 12 times in 2 years while Andrea won 9 times in 4 years.

Twelve of fifteen sisters will be golfing on the weekend.
Patty T dug herself too big a hole on Thursday. Her 68 on Friday missed by one stroke. Others with a free weekend include Brooke (just missed) & Lexi (not even close), Ash Buhai, Kupcho, and Ariya (but Moriya squeaked it out)... The coverage really focused on Lydia trying to recover to make the cut but she did not quite get there.
You gotta hand it to Thitikul. After a quad on her first hole of the tournament, she didn't give up, and ended up T9 after round two. Never count her out!

Lee has a sparkling reputation among the LA muni & driving range dwellers.

Six moving the wrong way on Friday; maybe she can reverse that trend on Saturday. After I wrote those words, Six started to move in the right direction Friday on 15 and 16. She's still out of striking distance... unless she posts one of those spectacular Six rounds on Saturday, say, six birdies, an eagle, and only one bogey. Has she done it before? Yes, many times. Is it likely? No, but I can believe... and also believe in Hyo Joo, Jin Young, and Jiyai. And of course, "I love you, Lilia Vu..."

Round 2 Yet another case of "Koreans playing well, so one player running away from field". But it was just the second round and there is still time. Can one of the Sisters finally break through in a big way? Jin Young had a nice day: 68, no bogies, pretty good stats. She's just close enough to make a run. To do it, she's going to have to finally produce this year one of those great rounds like those she has made her legend on. She is way overdue, she seems to be trending better and better this week. Have some sausage rolls and go Ko go! Hyo Joo has been silently lurking. She has played two very good rounds. I think her season comes down to Saturday. She can put herself in position, but she needs greatness to do it. In Gee would seem to be out of it at 8 back. But, she was well back last year and managed to catch Buhai and force a playoff. Ewing would be the latest in a long line of unlikely Major winners, but she's also gonna be feeling the heat. Excited that Six has hung in there, and Jiyai is always dangerous in the UK. Time to end the Korean slump! Let's see some moving day magic! Sisters hwaiting!!

Lilia Vu looks ready to dunk on USC. She will fold like the UCLA Bruins always does...kidding aside, I like Lilia Vu However, I am hoping that Hyo Joo Kim rally for the win. Also Gabriela Ruffels leading the Epson Tour Tournament can get a win for USC Trojans would be nice. She is leading the money list so she will be over next year to take care of the Bruin.

A great leaderboard with wily veterans Hyo Joo Kim and Jiyai Shin in the mix. Sorry, Amy, you're a veteran but have never been wily.
It's hard for me to root for a favorite here.

You're probably right. I'll stay out of the fray. I don't even know where USC is.

You are kidding right, about not knowing where USC is. It's pretty close to UCLA, besides I like to kid about the rivalry. It is never personal!!!!

You are kidding right, about not knowing where USC is. It's pretty close to UCLA, besides I like to kid about the rivalry. It is never personal!!!! I will personally welcome fans of both the Trojans and Bruins, and now also the Huskies and Ducks, to the coast-to-coast Big Ten Conference! And tomorrow I will happily support Lilia ("Lilia Vu, I love you!"), Angel, Hyo Joo, Jiyai, Andrea, and Amy. I would even support Ally McDonald Ewing to win her first major, just not as much as the others I listed.
British fans must be the 'forgive and forget' types. They are showing a lot more loyalty to Charley than Charley (and Georgia) showed to their teammates and their country a couple of months ago at the Hanwha... Great to see Angel Yin featured with a post-round interview! Does anyone know what the "HACI" on her hat means? I assume that it's a sponsor? She has "Abacus" on her shirt. Seems to be some type of software?

HACI - Hacienda Golf Club in LA; she is a member or least practices there.

Round 3 Hyo Joo is so overdue a Major win it's ridiculous. She had a good day today, but... I gotta say, I'm not expecting her to be a factor. She just seems to always make just enough mistakes to avoid the winner's circle. I don't think any of the other Koreans are close enough to seriously threaten. Jiyai might make a run, but she's too far back to win. Meanwhile, In Gee fell apart, and just when Jin Young looked like she might get into contention, she got on the bogey train, and that's the end of her Major season this year. Still hoping she, Six and A Lim can get into the top ten. Sisters hwaiting!

Sometimes I think both Grants trained on SPECTRE Island ... three shots out of the lead and five players to pass ... Linn could do it. There are birdies out there ... Chairwoman Mao shot 67.
Unless she falls off her horse, Charlotte Heath (L) should win low am, as she is +7 with five holes remaining ... Julia Lopez Ramirez (R) finished at +12.
