Too bad, A Lim Kim had a golden opportunity to win her second Major and let it slip away on the back nine. I have faith in her that there will be more chances. She is going back to Korea to defend her 2022 Title at the 45th KLPGA Championship, a Major.
Jin Young Ko shows why she is great, had an early bogey on the back nine. However, she finished the round with three straight birdies. That got her into a ninth-place tie and the only Korean golfer under par for the round. Also, A Lim Kim at even par was the only Korean golfer not over par for the round.

Round 4 Congrats To Vu and Yin for their performances this week. This was by and large another disappointing finale for the Koreans after three pretty good rounds. With four Sisters within two shots of the lead, I was really expecting at least two to have a chance going down the back nine. Alas, the one who did was the one with the wildest tendencies. Just a little gripe about having a tournament playing on so many different platforms. I set Peacock to save the final round on my app, and watched a small bit of it in the morning. When I got back, it had not saved it at all, so I ended up missing a crucial part of the round. The only coverage I had at that point picked up when A Lim was in the trees on 10, and by then the other three Sisters were already pretty much out of it. Which means I didn't find out what happened with Hye Jin and Hyo Joo until I looked on the web after the tournament. Far be it from them to keep us up to date on any of that during the broadcast. Hye Jin and Hyo Joo just didn't bring it today, and it was very frustrating. How can a great player like Choi shoot a 77, no matter how hard the conditions? Hyo Joo was merely mediocre, but Choi was really bad. HJ still managed a 17th, which, with In Gee's t-18th and Hyo Joo's 11th, meant that all four Korean International Crown members finished in the top 20. But none finished higher than 9th. TBH, I wasn't expecting Amy to win, and she pretty much played like I was expecting, perhaps a tad worse, with a 73 and t-4th. I don't know what to say about A Lim. This course was set up for long hitters, with four of the top five being bombers. Personally, I didn't enjoy watching them bomb it, make huge mistakes, and somehow hang on to contention. I'm no fan of Thitikul, but she was so obviously better than they were that it wasn't funny. A Lim was all over the map, hitting all sorts of terrible shots, yet scrounging out pars and making long putts here and there to somehow hang on. I really like her personality, but she's tough to watch. With Thitikul not making any serious mistakes, I figured it was just a matter of time until she won, and time and again Kim would just barf when she needed to do something good. The lowlight of the week was the shank she hit approaching 18. Amazingly, she still had a chance to win even before that shot, but that ended that. But unexpectedly, Thitikul dumped her own approach into the water by inches and ended her chances; had she hit the green there's no doubt in my mind she would have won. But had A Lim hit maybe three fewer awful shots, she might have been holding the trophy today. About the only fun thing today was Jin Young making all sorts of amazing putts to run up to a top ten. It wasn't her best week by any means, but she still had a finish that will help her on her road to full dominance. I'm targeting the Pebble Beach US Women's Open for her; she HAS to win that event at some point in her career, and what a great place it would be for her to get it. But for now, t-9th is good. Sisters hwaiting!

Jin Young saved the white outfit for another day A Lim needs to work on her approach shots. But great week for her. Lilia Vu should take a long disinfectant shower

Lilia Vu era has begun. This pleases me only because one of my jerkoff college buddies went to Fountain Valley High School. He's a good guy.

My first post! I began seriously following women's golf in 2019 after Tiger Woods ex coach Hank Haney made a biased or prejudicial statement about Asian and specifically Korean golfers on Golf Channel. He mocked Jeongeun Lee6 who was a rookie at the time and within weeks she won the US Open. I have been hooked since then. Wish Lucky Six could get her game back together. She continues to show glimpses of brilliance or at least competitiveness for a round or two or occasionally three. Every time she manages to get some tv coverage, I say, "There's my Lee6!"
I'm old enough to remember when the LPGA considered instituting an English language proficiency exam to qualify for the tour after Korean golfers began having success, two decades or more ago. I didn't even care much about women's golf at the time but I remember thinking, WRONG, WRONG, WRONG!
Congrats to Lilia Vu. "Lilia Vu, I love you!" I think someone commented earlier in this thread that she had fewer sponsor logos on her clothes than last year. Did Angel Yin have any? The two top golfers in one of the five majors, why are they starving for sponsors? WRONG, WRONG, WRONG! I was really torn after the playoff began, I love Lilia Vu but it would have been the first win for Angel. Maybe the Lilia Vu era has begun?
And I did feel sad for A Lim too, or as Google Translate calls her, "Arim Kim." Has anyone else noticed that Google Translate mangles Narin An to "Anna Lynn?" Maybe it made an impression on me because the best girlfriend in my life, an American woman, once had the name "Anna Lynn."
Last comment after the ANA or Nabisco or Dinah Shore, ok, now it's the Chevron. (Different pond, same danger... get a tetanus shot Lilia!) Lexi missed the cut again so Golf Channel and NBC were forced to focus on golfers who were actually being successful after rounds 1 and 2. At least they still had Korda! I used to really resent the attention given to Lexi, it was unfair. But it's ruined her game! The media and the sponsors made her into the "Golden Girl" and it's been too much pressure. It's hard to admit this, but I actually feel sorry for her, she was having a successful career but "they" made her the "Golden Girl," the blonde, long-legged, athletic, not-dark haired, not Asian. perfect English-speaking American "Golden Girl." And now her game has been destroyed by the pressure!
Go sisters! Apparently we have the Plastpro next weekend but I'm waiting for the Hanwha in two weeks, of course I want to call it the UL. I remember telling my students that the Solheim Cup was a farce because it excluded the best golfers in the world. Go sisters! (And beautiful Lilia Vu!)
You can call me "Haney" or "Hank," not my real name but it will help erase his biased comments from our memory...

I apologize for liking my own post. I'm new to the board and I was hunting in the menus to try to figure out how to put a photo on my posts. Eventually I figured out how to add a photo of my Lee6! Go Jeongeun Lee6! And beautiful Lilia Vu, Chevron champion!

Welcome! Always great to have a new face!
Wasn't it last year when Kupcho won an event, then shortly thereafter the Chevron? I guess the "Kupcho era" ended rather quickly, didn't it? So I'll wait a while to declare the Vu Era. Golf is a fickle mistress.
Haney's insult of Six was even worse than you make it out to be. His comment was something like 'the Major will probably be won by some Korean named Lee'. He didn't even know she existed, and just lumped all Koreans into some faceless mass named Lee. Then, when Six won, he tried to claim he was brilliant and 'knew all along' and was being unfairly criticized. Oh brother. Like his original comment was not obviously an attempt to insult Koreans. The media couldn't even give her fans a chance to celebrate that great win, because all the news stories became about that ignatz and his comments. Six's touching life story was lost in the mix.
Whatever. We need more Six fans here to rally the faithful. She's going through some tough times, but I still believe she can get back to her winning ways!

I re-watched some of the final round in a less agitated state of mind and I feel like maybe I was a bit harsh to A Lim up above. Yeah, she hit some terrible shots in there, but so did Thitikul, and not just on the final hole. She also managed a few great shots, including fantastic approaches on 16 and 17. Had she dunked those for birdie, she might still have walked away with the title. Heck, while I'm fantasizing, if she makes those two putts (she had made several other longer putts right before) and then simply put her second on or near the green instead of shanking, she might have had the win outright. So, in other words, it really was a better performance than I initially thought. Good job, A Lim!

If you want to upload a pic from your computer, click Add Attachment and upload it. Please use this sparingly, because I'm not sure how the people who run this forum software system will respond if we start going hog wild and uploading lots of pix.

Does anyone remember the broadcast times for these four rounds? Last year was a mess. Curious how much of this was on TV this year.

There are all sorts of issues getting access to these feeds from Youtube TV, which is how I access them. Basically, because the LPGA names them the same no matter what network they are on, YT TV only records the last one (or records the last one over the previous one), thinking they are the same feed. I couldn't figure out how to avoid that, so I missed out on the morning action every day unless I happened to be watching when it was on, which defeats the purpose of recording, doesn't it?
On the weekend they switched to THREE networks: Peacock, NBC and Golf Channel. Again I could not get the morning Golf Channel (same issue as before; same name), and when I tried to record Peacock, it erased my saved content after it ended. So I only ended up with the NBC feed, which was the last two hours or so.
If they would just stick to one feed it would be so much easier...
