Is a replay in the works? The Old Ko is lighting it up today. while Paphangkorn has begun her sleepwalk stomping of this field and the golf course.
********
A stinkin' bogey at #18?

Whoops, it looks like I pulled the trigger too soon on predicting The Old Ko/Paphangkorn in a replay. That's good ... last year's ANA on Sunday was a bore. I'm not watching today's broadcast, but I assume the GIC is fawning all over Kupcho ... but she kinda deserves it ... there's a lot of talent there and she knows she should have won on this tour already. Why not this week? There are no land mines on this course, only the ones between her ears.
*********
JTibs is in the cellar and will remain there, giving her the ignominious solo tee time tomorrow ... too bad if Fanofseri won't be there.

A tough day at the Golf Course for the Korean Golfers. How bad was it you ask? Inbee Park at minus two was the one under par. Also they had only three players even par and eight players over par. Probably the worst round ever for them as a group. They just have to clutch up and have a strong final round. However the course was playing tough like a real Major. Par fives as par fives and no drivable par fours. The players with good rounds earned them, the way it should be.

Someone on the GIC Channel said Kupshow is playing well because the ANWA is on TV.

Round 3
This might have been the worst single round the Koreans as a whole have ever produced since I've been watching golf. The only OK round was Inbee's 70. Every other Sister was even par or worse. Jin Young hasn't had an over par round in eight months and she shot two of them this week.
I think the course length and rock-hard greens have made it very hard for the shorter players to hold the greens and get close consistently. Add onto that a mediocre playing week for most of the Koreans and that's why we are where we are. Oh well, here's hoping things go a little better next time. See you in Hawaii!

A lot of Annie on the coverage yesterday. She is a throwback, like an old school LPGA'er--slightly paunchy, bad posture, unfashionable clothes and a broomstick putter. Those are easier on achy backs, you know. Wouldn't surprise me if she smokes cigarettes too.

Ariya and Sung Hyun, two fairly recent top-ranked players who now seem to be going the way of Yani Tseng. I understand that the GIC has no time for either but I am still surprised at how fast they've been banished to the twilight zone. Perfect opportunity to kick some people while they're down but they can't even be bothered.

The LPGA's Old Bulls will be heard from before the week is finished ... sample:

Someone should put a mic in front of Hollis ... she went bat guano crazy when Bivens got canned.

Someone should tell Mantle & Maris that she can keep the LPGA in the desert if she follows my plan ... copy Shoprite/Acer: 3-day tournament, pro-ams everywhere, local sponsors ... don't be greedy about the purse and definitely get out of Mission Hills.

Nine holes in the books ... I can't take it anymore ... there's a one-hour 'Gunsmoke' coming on a few minutes. Paphangkorn tried to shake up Kupcho by hitting driver off the deck at #9, but couldn't gain any ground.
They showed Shibuno Fever's par putt at #18 and that was it ... thanks for nothing.

Why was Mollie MIA at a major with a new sponsor? I guess she figured she was safer hiding under her desk at LPGA HQ, avoiding the locals yelling "shame on you!" for destroying the 50 year legacy of the Dinah.

The noticeable absence of a particular player might cast doubt on who is really the best American ... NO SALE ... I never bought Korda Two as Rolex #1 or ever being superior to The New Ko ... but, Kupcho, that's a different story ... IMHO, she has a better swing and better physical tools to challenge for #1.

DK picked up a cool $57K ... Maverick's trust fund is safe ... FOR NOW.

Did JTibs really screw up her scorecard? It must have cost her an easy $9K.

Except for Ping, what a bunch of obscure logos. Well, I'm too disinterested to look them up ... American companies, I assume. They're as obscure as the Euro logos covering Nanna Cursed Mad's attire and bag when I first saw her at Canoe Brook in 2016.
