Posting this just to make SoYeonFan jealous! Got a pic with Hee Jeong - her English is really good - really nice to the kids wanting autographs, and to old guys (well,at least this one) telling her they're KLPGA fans, and it's great to see her in person here at Chevron. She even suggested we take this photo. Lucky! Good to see she's having a great time playing this week. Would love to have her here full time. My biggest regret is that I never got a chance to see Sky Kim in action. The other player I barely saw was Hee Kyung Seo; I think I saw her hit one shot while I was walking to catch up to see So Yeon Ryu. This was at the 2012 Canadian Women's Open I think (the first one Lydia won). By the time I went to my next event in person, she had already retired.

Also the fact that she has been learning English. Which means she is preparing herself to come to the LPGA Tour. Knowing English really helped So Yeon transition to the LPGA Tour.

Many groups don't have standard bearers. It's like being being an usher at your ex-wife's wedding.

So Yeon got to even par, I hope it's enough to make the cut. She made bogey on five and six to go to five over after a birdie on three. Then she made five birdies to get to even par but made bogey on seventeen. She then made a clutch birdie on eighteen to get back to even. It's going to be close, fingers crossed because she showed a lot of pride.

Did you see any of MHL? I got home from work, clicked on the scoreboard and saw she was 3-under for the day with six holes remaining ... right on cue, she botched two of her last four holes, but at least she doesn't have to make an early drive to Pechanga. In this field, her CME projected ranking (as if I really care) is #125 ... only Sung Hung (#126) and Christina Kim (#127) are worse. Are you attending Saturday's round?
That's a LONG way down for AN.

The round of the day: Na Rin An had five straight bogeys on her front nine. She bounced back with seven out of eight birdies on her back nine. That is an amazing round.
Great five under rounds for Sei Young Kim and Hyo Joo Kim. Put them both in the mix at two out of the lead.
Jin Young Ko could have been five under for the day. But she hit an aggressive birdie put on eighteen and three putted. There may be too many players ahead of her for the win. But top five or ten is doable.
Not a god day for Hee Jeong Lim. Hee Jeong Lim and Yaeeun Hong playing together both shot 79 on different days. Hee Jeong made double bogey on par five two and eighteen. Which is unusual for her. That's okay Jin Young missed the cut the first time at ANA as a KLPGA player.
However A Lim Kim made a double bogey on two and eighteen which is not unusual. She came into eighteen even par and close to the cut line. I wonder if she went for the green in two instead of laying up. Knowing A Lim she probably did

If MHL & her caddie we're in white I saw her. It starts so late. Shibuno is tough to pass up. I don't know if I'm going.

Somebody needs to tell the LPGA intern to mic up the interpreter...you couldn't even hear her translating Shibuno Fever's answers. The Korean interpreter seemed properly mic'ed. Despite a 69 on Day 2 and a finishing eagle on 18, KT missed the cut by one. She can catch the early limo to Pechanga and meet up with BFF RLB for dinner and blackjack. https://www.instagram.com/p/Cb1QDphri1O

Round 2 This was a giant step up from round 1. There were still some letdowns; for instance, the bottom of the leaderboard still had a lot of Sisters; Six played better but still was over par; and Inky barely missed a final birdie chance to miss the cut by a stroke. But there were also some good things. Jin Young continued to struggle a lot by her standards, but dug deep and made three straight birdies on the back nine to climb to 3 under before a sloppy final hole bogey left her with a 68 and a -2 total. She's still 7 back, but though it's unlikely, she still has a chance to win this. She's going to need at least one really low round a la a 64, but she does have the ability to do that. Let's see if she can reconnect with her superstar form this weekend. She'll be playing with Thitikul tomorrow for added incentive. Na Rin had the all-time roller coaster round: five straight bogies on the back to fall to +5, then birdies on 7 of 9 holes on the front to climb back to -2. Hye Jin's at -1, so two of the Korean Rooks made it to the weekend. Also at -2 are In Gee and Eun Hee Ji, paired together on Saturday. So Yeon and Inbee both got to even par with a 68 + 69, and will be paired together. Now that's awesome! Two besties. Meanwhile, we actually have Sisters near the top. Talk about a dark horse, Annie Park had just one bogey and is just a shot back at 8 under, while Hyo Joo and Sei Young shot 67s and are at 7 under. Both of those ladies have struggled this year, but both are also overdue a great showing. Sei Young in particular has played well here without ever winning. Can she finally get over this long drought of form the past year and get another win? Sisters hwaiting!!! Round 1 Jin Young Ko Sung Hyun Park Eun Hee Ji So Yeon Ryu In Gee Chun Six. Ouch, better luck next time! Yaeeun and Hee Jeong -- a good learning experience for these future stars A Lim Kim

I think I came up with a solution in case I attend a tournament pretentious enough to have pairings: Look for at least one player you like in three consecutive pairs. For instance, on Thursday you could follow J. Song and Reto for holes 1 thru 6, then wait for the next pair (The Yangster and Sagstrom) and follow them for holes 7 thru 12 and then wait for the next pair (Dr. Noh and Castren) and follow them for holes 13 thru 18. I've never employed this discipline to follow threesomes this way, but maybe I should try at Shoprite ... if MHL gets a 7:15 AM or 2:15 PM tee time, I need an efficient way of killing off the morning or afternoon.
Friday pic ... I wonder if that Cally wedge is an Anthony Taranto special.
