It'll take place June 2-5 at Pine Needles G & CC in Southern Pines, NC. The informational PDF form was posted this week and there are many entries already, including Mannika. It'll probably be the last roundup for NYC. Aside from the usual exemptions, here are the key dates to avoid qualifying:
April 6 - Anyone in the top-10 of the CME rankings and anyone in the top-75 of the Rolex Rankings May 16 - Anyone in the top-75 of the Rolex Rankings who was NOT there as of April 6
The usual areas have been selected for the 26 qualifying locations. The USGA posted a sneak preview of this info earlier, but had Arizona as TBD ... they finally settled on Gainey Ranch GC in Scottsdale on April 26.
Inky submitted an application from her burrow ... mailing address listed as Cardiff, CA ... I had to look that up on Google Maps.
Ee Da Yeon and Minami Katsu have thrown their visors into the ring.
MHL of TX threw her $200 into the kitty ... unless her name starts popping up on the Epson Tour field lists, she's going in Cold Turkey.

Soule Park is my new home course as of December. I'm there 3-4 times a week to practice. I'll try to show up for qualifying and snoop around.
I went to college a couple towns down the coast from Cardiff. It's by Rancho Santa Fe which is known for Phil Mickelson as well as the Heaven's Gate incident. Cardiff aka Cardiff-by-the-Sea is pretty nondescript and sleepy, I can see it suiting IKK vibe. San Diego is nice but dull IMO.

Hit a home run getting Gil Hanse early in his career.

A record 1,874 applications were received ... the old record was 1,873 for Lancaster in 2015. Eun Hee Ji will try to qualify in Fort Myers on May 4 ... which she can avoid by improving her Rolex #79 rating by four spots within the next few weeks. Oh, and that settles it: I've got to go to Morristown on May 10 to see if Crusty Grrr (Rolex #186) will helicopter her putter. There might be a few other LPGAers there, since Cognizant is playing that week about 25 miles away.

(Never heard of her but saw the name on her bag.) And yesterday overheard some dudes grumbling on the range after being told their group would be joined by "some girl who's prepping for a big event here". Their primary complaint being that she was going to beat them all.

I assume Louise Ridderstrom is based in SoCal, since she played at UCLA. Per my 2019 Shoprite report, I followed her group for nine holes (w/ Yokomine and J. Park) ... she drove it short and made no putts ... showed me nothing. She won the year before at Raven's Claw on the Symetra tour ... I was there for the second round, but didn't watch her. See if she is still gaming a Sacks Parente putter, which I never heard of until I saw her at the Seaview.

The May 16 qualifier field at Buckinghamshire, England has 63 names ... it could pass for a typical LET event, with one notable exception: Sayaka Takahashi. I don't know why she would be here ... maybe she thinks it's easier to qualify here than in Japan and she might be right. She can definitely golf her ball ... finished T-11 at the 2020 USWO. Her competition includes Nicole Broch Estrup, VE Carta, Linn Grant, Caro Hedwall, EK Pedersen and Luna Sobron Galmes.

First up is Kent, WA on April 19 ... perhaps a dubious skill set on display with 39 amateurs out of 45 players. Celine Herbin will slum this location for an easy win ... well, that's the plan, I think. One of the pros is Jennie Lee ... don't know if that's the one who the played the LPGA eons ago. Another pro is Selanee Pendleton ... the new name of Selanee Henderson. Six Canucks will cross the border for this one, all amateurs.
*************
A little more talent in Pittsburgh, PA on May 3 ... topped by JTibs, Rachel Kuehn, Auston Kim, Rachel Rohanna, Steph Kyraciou, Sana Nuutinen and Marissa Steen.
************
Even more talent will show up in Eureka, MO on May 4 ... Ana Belac, Christina Kim, Emma Talley, Isabella Fierro, Isi Gabsa, Jaravee Boonchant, Lilia Vu, Maria Fassi, Mo Stacks, Olivia Cowan, PeiYun Chien, Sarah Schmelzel, S.C. Cheng, Vickie Hurst, Youngin Chun, Yu Sang Hou ... and MHL.

A snoozefest for Alexandria, VA on May 11 ... a perfect set-up for Alena Sharp and Sarah Kemp ... the rest are wannabes, pretenders and washouts. Among those I've seen in person include Cannuck lefty Christina Foster (wannabe, videoed her at Lancaster's range), Brynn Walker (pretender, probably should have remained an amateur) and Jenny Suh Thompson (washout, knocked off Jagger at the match play about ten years ago ... all downhill after that).
*********
An even duller field will show up at Worcester, MA on May 12 ... they're picking one qualifier and two alternates. If Yu Liu can't beat this bunch, she should retire. The old hacker Alison Walshe (formerly from Boston "Charlestown, North End" and now with a mailing address in Westford, MA) should find a way to get one of the alternates ... the other alternate is a total toss-up. The only other familiar name here is college senior Ami Gianchandani (aka The Yale Librarian) of Watchung, NJ.

The Kent WA course is just a few miles down the road from me. I'm going to check it out.
Last time I went to a qualifier a handful of years ago, warhorse Mhairi McKay took the honors. The Washington Huskies' women's golf team members participated at that time. I'll be curious to see if they give their shots this time as well.
The weather has been cold and wet up in the Northwest. Predictions for Tuesday is rainy with a high of 56 degrees F.

A classic Donald Ross design opened for play by then-President William Howard Taft in 1914, Worcester is one of just three courses to have hosted both Opens (1925 - Willie MacFarlane beat Bobby Jones in a 2nd 18 hole playoff: 1960 - Betsy Rawls won by one over Joyce Ziske) as well as a Ryder Cup (the very first in fact, 1927: US beats GB 9.5-2.5): Pinehurst and Hazeltine are the others. Bob Cousy is a member here. Many a time I've driven past this club along Mountain Street East and wondered how such an old and compact layout could ever host a modern championship. It would require a great deal of cooperation with the city to pull off such an endeavor.
Much ado about nothing: the Islamic Society of Greater Worcester is across the street from the Club.
Further ado about nothing: Bob Cousy's Holy Cross team was the NCAA champion in 1947 and made the Final Four the following season, but back then the NIT had more prestige. The late Tommy Heinson helped lead the Crusaders to the 1954 NIT title. As one of the top teams of that era, the Crusaders played most of their home games in the old Boston Garden rather than on campus. Their current home on campus, the Hart Center, opened in 1975.Kevin

Quite a collection at Morristown, NJ on May 10 ... Karen Chung gets stuck with Crusty Grrr, have fun with that. Capt. Kirk and Bam Bam are together. Megha Ganne with Lauren Kim ... SJ Smith with Cindy LaCrosse ... Jenny Coleman with Frida Kinhult ... Brianna Do with Unlucky Five ... Min Lee with Lindsey Weaver. Other players include The EMP, Jasmine, Porna, LeBlanc, WW Zhang, Janie Jackson and Savannah Vilaubi.

In Kent, WA today, Celine Herbin opened with 83 and dropped out ... as Charlie Rymer used to say, "that's NOT what she was looking for." No one has posted a round of par or better so far.
*********
A boring bunch will show up in Aurora, IL on May 9 fighting for one spot ... Jillian Hollis is the best player, but I wouldn't call her an overwhelming favorite ... her strongest competitor should be LPGAer Katie Perry Katherine Hamski. Ivy Shepherd bombed out of the 2022 ANWA ... long driver Alexis Belton still trying to become a golfer ... and I see the name "Sohyun An" ... that must be a different one.
*********
The KGA posted the tee times for 72 players in Incheon on April 22 and 62 are amateurs. Really surprised that Shinsil Bang (T-8 at 2022 ANWA) is skipping this one (unless she is going overseas to qualify) ... "teammate" Youmin Hwang will play it. Two of the pros looking to ruin the dreams of the amateurs are Q Baek and Kyeong Bae. The course scheduled Thursday as a practice day.
