They were there earlier today, but must have gotten cold feet ... the list is now 143, so someone else must have bailed in addition to Lee and Lim.

I count 146 names in the field. I assume the USGA is working its way through the 1st alternate list for most of the remaining ten spots. I still think they'll give a special invite to Crusty Grrr.
The Asian tour players who made it via Rolex rankings appear to be Saku-chan, Eee Ga Young, So Mi Lee, HJ Lim, Yuna Nishimura, Hae Ran Ryu, Chairwoman Mao, Ai Suzuki, Sayaka Takahashi and Momoko Ueda.
Alternates that I see that have been added to the field: Pornanong Phatlum Jillian Hollis Karissa Kilby (a) Allisen Corpuz Dottie Ardina Lilia Vu Ingrid Lindblad (a) Allison Emery Britney Yada Lauren Kim (a)

No, but they are up to 154 names.

Inbee Park has withdrawn from the Women's Open, Andrea Lee is added. Nothing on her Instagram about it.

Just arrived in North Carolina. Looking forward to this one.
My field rating for this major championship is a solid 77.5%, down from 78.5% last year' It would have been slightly higher than last year if Inbee Park was in the field. My breakdown is 75% from the LPGA Priority List and 80% from The Rolex Rankings. This is probably the only tournament of the year where the Rolex field ranking is higher than the LPGA Priority List ranking. This is because a good portion of the bottom half of the top 100 of the Priority List players don't automatically qualify for this event. In addition, there are a number of highly ranked non LPGA players in the top 100 of the Rolex Rankings who will be teeing it up this week.
There was not much movement inside the top 50 of the Rolex Rankings, with Hye-Jin Choi's move from 42 to 38 the only one worth mentioning. Eun-Hee Ji made a big leap of 28 spots, jumping from 83-55. There were some big leaps into the top 100 this week as Lilia Vu (123-94), Andrea Lee (108-97), and non LPGA member Yunji Jeong (140-99) will now be part of my field ratings. On the downside we had three players fall out of the top 100 as Mirim Lee (96-101), Su Oh (100-102), and Wei-Ling Hsu (99-103), are no longer part of my field rating.
Hye-Jin Choi recorded her 5th top ten of the year and is now tied for the LPGA lead in that category. Eun-Hee Ji's victory was the third for players from the Republic of Korea, tying them with the USA.

Rose Zhang (a) Lucy Li - 19 year old pro Anna Davis (a)
What a group?
Any idea why these threw were put together?
Is Lucy going to try and convince them to forget academia?

I wouldn't be surprised to see Rose Zhang turn pro, she's conquered the NCAAs already as a freshman winning the Individual title and sinking the winning putt to win the team title. With the US Women's AM and US Girls, it's really just the Augusta National that's left honestly. Although the education first thing seems to have always been her per-view.

I don't know if this is the place to discuss this... the LPGA now requires all players to turn pro to enter Q-school / Q-Series. That will urge more players to stay in school. It will also push the top talent out of school. The money on the LPGA tour is not a lot. Traveling around America isn't cheap or easy. I would advise staying in school or staying in the KLPGA which is much cheaper to get around.

A few of the player profiles on the USGA tournament page have not been updated in a while ... says Chairwoman Mao has three wins in 2022 ... that was two wins ago. They say Saku-chan has five career wins ... that was two wins ago.
*********
I found one error and there may be others ... example regarding Muni:
In the 2016 U.S. Women’s Amateur, she advanced to the Round of 32, eliminating medalist Mariel Galdiano in 19 holes.
WRONG! That match lasted 22 hole ... I know, I was there.
*******
Really weird profile on Alyaa Abdulghany (below), which has the heading 'Alyaa Abdul' ... is this her new marketing name? If true, I'll start calling her Paula Adbul.
Whoever wrote it was half-asleep ... tried to list all the USC Trojans in the field, but left out Muni and Throbbin' Robynn. It also said Annie Park is going to USC in fall ... HUH?!!!!
******
Monday practice:
Jurassic Park

Shibuno Fever

Nishimura

Looking at this year's Rookie list, it doesn't look that way -- the top five are not college stars, at least from the American system.

There are two Lauren Kims this week ... Lauren Kim (LPGA) and Lauren Kim (am from B.C.) ... they are tied in prize money this year at zero ... both will probably be on the street after Friday. Lauren Kim (LPGA) has shown real golf ability at times, but has not been able to sustain it. Lauen Kim (am) is ticketed for U of Texas in 2023.
********
HF, by omission, you dumped all over Throbbin' Robynn. It's not her fault that she got grouped with Muni at 1:07 PM on Thursday ... and what a GREAT group that is. I would definitely follow them on foot and so would SoYeonFan. The third in the group is unknown to me, Malak Bouraeda (a) ... born in the U.S., but plays under the flag of Morocco ... obviously will try to get into the Olympics this way ... will be a playing as a 5th year grad student for the Colorado Buffs in the fall.

For some reason I find it funny that Malak's parent's names are Zack and Gretchen, and her siblings names are Harper and Ella. As if she was primed for that Moroccan flag somehow haha
