Too bad there were no golfers there waiting for her, like Morgan had. I don't think it's too bad. In fact, I hope she alienates the entire LPGA Tour and becomes a super villain. Have the youngest player on Tour telling everyone to "grow up." How great would it be if Ko was battling someone really popular down the stretch, like Creamer or Wie, and drops in the winning birdie putt, only to turn to all the LPGA players waiting with water bottles in their hand and deliver the Hulk Hogan cupping of the ear.

You're right about Brooke, mr3putt, her inexperienced youth didn't serve her well. Ko, on the other hand, has had no such thing as an inexperienced youth. Too bad Morgan didn't win. I remember her last win vividly. I believe it was the last tournament to be held in Hawaii until the Lotte started up in 2012.

Totally agree. It's always lonely at the top. Do you think any CEO needs to be friends with any work colleagues?....nope....they separate themselves cause they need to make some unpopular and tough decisions. They only need the respect from work colleagues. I think Lydia wants to be more friendly with others as any teen would....but The Dragon Lady has trained her daughter to be a well oiled money making machine. I just hope The Dragon Lady doesn't yell at any flight attendants if she's served her kimchi with plastic cutlery.....lol. As much as Gulbis is a well liked pro....I think she separates herself too....she a outside the ropes money making machine......get to the course early to practice Mon-Wed...then leaves to likely arrange business matters with her EA and business partners. It's rare to see her tweet pics with other pros...outside of sponsor dinners.

Brooke has a hard and aggressive swing that's more susceptible to break down under stress.....resulting in inconsistencies.....but she's 17....she'll learn more from her mistakes than from winning. Brooke also kinda broke down coming home at the 2014 Women's Am too. A $133k pay check is also pretty sweet for a 17 year old.....I was bussing tables on Saturday night back in 1978....at $1.50/hr and $20 in tips for helping the waitresses and that was considered good pay for a night's work as a grade 12 student. Ko was well coached by Guy Wilson to play within herself and never play out of a shot......same with many other Korean's smooth swings. It really is kinda unimaginable that the likes of chubby Inbee and Shanshan can play to their level...but they've learned to max out pure ball striking. Kapalua must have been a hard walk....but I don't think the gals played on the Plantation course?

Many don't like Tom Abbott...but I like him cause he will say something stupid. Did you hear Tom slam Kwak's hat?...it was classic Abbott. What an asinine thing he said about Kwak's hat. Sheesh. It was one of the few times I felt like telling him to shut up. Definitely an off week for the sisters; I guess you can't grab all top five spots on the leaderboard every week! But what is interesting is that four of them who made the top ten (Amy, Sei Young, Mirim and Ha Na) were also four of the longest Koreans on tour. This didn't seem like a course that benefits long hitters, but maybe it really is. Also a nod to Q Baek for a top twenty and to Hyo Joo for keeping that top 25 streak alive in her sixth straight event. On the down side, So Yeon screws up big time in the final round yet again. This girl seems to be in a bit of disarray right now. It's too bad. Congrats to Ko. Man, having to go a month between wins was really starting to worry me. It was a Ko tandem, what with Jin Young Ko's win on the KLPGA.

Hmmm - I think NYC & SYRyu need to give Kwak a little fashion advice.

Brooke is Canada’s Lexi...she just bludgeons the ball, but needs some rough edges filed off. She was supposed to be in the Monday qualifier in Texas, but it was suspended by lightning at 6:12 PM...it will resume on Tuesday AM. Don't know how she's doing.
I had no problem with Kwak’s hat (I don't complain about Soo Jin Yang's hats!), but the rest of her duds presented a strange visual illusion. It looked like Kwak was wearing a yellow thermal shirt and black ski overalls. Nothing strange about her swing...GC had a nice shot of it from behind the tee box; reminded me of Mi Hyang Lee.
mr3putt:
Remember Dave Barr? The ten-finger grip and handsy swing?! I remember seeing him when I attend the final round of the 1994 Canon Greater Hartford Open (David Frost won). Pgatour.com has the final results...Greg Norman was 2nd and Barr was in a four-way tie for 3rd. That was a memorable vacation...I golfed my way up to CT, attended the GHO on Wed. or Thur. (they had the Stanley Cup inside a tent), saw a New Britain Red Sox game, attended the NHL draft at the Hartford CC (Ed Jovanovski was picked #1), and finished with the final round of the GHO.
mr3putt:
My time in Hamilton was a lot shorter. My buddy and I drove to Buffalo in Oct. '96 to watch the Sabres host Montreal at the new Marine Midlands Arena (front row seats!). We crossed the border the next morning, did a little sight-seeing at Niagara Falls, poked around inside the Niagara Fall Memorial Arena, dropped by Tom Reid's hockey shop, and finally pulled into Hamilton to watch the Bulldogs host the Kentucky Thoroughblades. We returned to Buffalo that night, left the next morning and dropped by Binghamton, NY that evening to watch the Rangers host the Albany River Rats. We also made a pitstop in Syracuse to check out the Carrier Dome (can't remember if we did that on Day 1 or Day 3). BTW, I remember picking up Hamilton's CHML-900 A.M. on the car radio on many winter evenings in NJ, as they carried the Toronto Maple Leafs games. Came in pretty clear most nights.

You just made me remember the Whalers and all the games I saw before they were carpet bagged down to Carolina. You also must have been to old Beehive Field in New Britain, which still exists next to the current and much more modern New Britain Stadium that now hosts the New Britain Rock Cats. Now affiliated with the Colorado Rockies, they're slated to move to Hartford as soon as next season. Anyway, for the nostalgic among you I now give you a recording of "Brass Bonanza" AKA the Whalers theme song:Kevin

I'm not very interested in the big hitting players with crappy short games. We have enough of them already with Wie, Thompson, Lincicome, Piller and Jutanugarn. So I'm not anxious to get another one in Henderson. Your mileage may vary!
I saw Kwak play with Ko at the 2012 Canadian Women's Open. Man, she was terrible. Judging from what I saw this week, it looks like she has improved a whole heap since then. Good for her! (The hat didn't do anything for me, but I still think it's rude to say what he did. Joke about her 'unique style' or whatever, but don't outright call it embarrassing. Not classy!)

Phil Brooke is Canada's Lexi....great analogy....exactly. Brooke won the 2nd spot in a playoff. Right....I forgot about Barr's baseball grip. You are obviously a HUGE hockey fan to road trip the minor hockey league. Why? Wow....you have a mind like a steel trap.....CHML-900.....kudos!!! I must admit....you'd be one I'd luv to hit the links with and share a few libations exchanging some stories.....seems like you remember lots of stuff....I can't remember what I had for lunch yesterday....lol.

Hmmmm....seems like the pros you don't care for......happen to be Yanks, Canucks or 'fake' Koreans. And two of the above pros are needle movers....at least in the US...hey don't you live in Merica?.....lol. Are there any Mericans of non Asian heritage you do like? Hey...you must be a closet Ko fan......why would you be watching Kwak?....she was playing with Ko Thurs/Fri.....I don't know why I remember Kwak...yet I can't think of the 3rd player in the group. Your opinion and that's OK....but IMO....Abbott's comment about Kwak's hat was funny. Tommy provides a bit of humor to some very boring LPGA coverage...especially with PC Judy & Terry Gannon.
