Have a feeling about Sung Hyoon despite not seeing any of her play. She has always been a threat to win big events but she is an even greater force now. I am guessing that the KPMGWPGAC win over So Yeon represented a massive step forward for her self-belief.

Not a good start for So Yeon, with two early bogeys. But she really took off after that, with seven birdies and no bogeys.

Now that In Gee's out of it, I think she'll relax tomorrow and shoot her best round of the week.
Stupples was particularly annoying today, jabbering her longwinded stories and completely ignoring the 20-foot putts being made before her (and our) eyes. She did this repeatedly.
That starter was hilarious. After a while I thought he was doing that just to entertain us. I wonder if I went for dinner at HoJo Kim's house on a Friday she would make me all-you-can-eat fried clam strips.
You have to be of a certain age to get that joke.

Foltzy mentioned Florian Rodriguez being on Higa's bag. That name sounded familiar...and I found it on this forum. He had Higa's bag at the 2016 Daio Paper on the JLPGA where she finished 2nd. I'm guessing that was a temporary arrangement as I see many pix of her over the years with Asian caddies. Rodriguez was with "Ji" Shin around 2012-13: 2012 RWBO
My recollection is that Shin got Rodriguez as her caddie, and her first two events with him were wins: the Kingsmill endless playoff against Creamer followed by the British Women's Open. We mused at the time that he was either a fantastic caddie or the luckiest guy on Earth.

In Gee isn't good enough to contend; even Top 10 isn't easy. It'll take -8 to grab a Top 10; a tall order for In Gee.

It looks like a perfect set up for Sung Hyun to win her consecutive major; but may be she won't because the set up is too perfect.
May be it will be Georgia Hall ala Pernilla Lindberg.

Assuming winning score is -14, only players at -8 or better will have a chance; a total of eight players

Round 3 I can't say this loudly enough. GO SO YEON! She was really great today. She shot a 67, and she left a LOT out there: the lip out on the 2nd hole, and three good chances for birdie on the final three holes. On the other hand, she got a break when her lengthy eagle try on 15 hit the hole and stopped. The highlight of the day was that up and down on 14. That was every bit as impressive as what Sung Hyun did at the KPMG. I'm amazed she even had a shot from that forest to be honest. So yeah, rooting for So Yeon, who will be paired with her recent nemesis Sung Hyun Park in the final round. Like at KPMG, SHP is 3 shots back heading into Sunday. Those two loom large, and we'll see if they can take care of the neophytes all around them trying to get their first Majors (or in most cases, first win period). Word for Minjee, too. Ms. Lee is going to win a Major sooner or later, perhaps many. This might be her time. She certainly is playing well enough to do it. As for the rest, poor day for Inky and Mi Hyang to fall well off the pace. In Gee had a nice day, and I think a 67 or so could get her her first top ten at a Major in two years. GO IN GEE! Sisters HWAITING! So Yeon Ryu Sung Hyun Park Minjee Lee Inky In Gee Hyo Joo Kim Mi Hyang Lee

Gearhead alert: Someone in one of the late groups had a Romaro bag on the range...haven't figured out who it was, yet.
**********
Mr. Starter announced "Sung Hung" Park again...doesn't he know that it's pronounced "Sung Hoong" Park?

During the early '70s I lived within walking distance of the HOJO on the southbound side of the GSP, just south of Upper Montclair CC. There's a McDonald's there now.
The boxed ones sold at Supermarkets were sinfully delicious...I don't think this product exists anymore. I'll have to check on my next visit to Shop-Rite...haven't had them in ages.

Sung Hyun's fate is sealed in the Western world. She is now, for better or worse, Sung Hyooon Park. She has suffered the same fate as figure skating legend Yeon Ah "Yoooona" Kim--the Western world decided to give her a new name.
To be fair Sung Hyun should have spelled it as Seong Hyeon. Although the tv people used to call NYC "Na Yooon". There really is no way to idiot proof against golf commentators. Somehow all other sports seem to handle the same matter with ease.

So what is the preferred pronunciation? Was Mi Hyun Kim wrong back in the day? I don’t remember any complaints then. And what is the ‘correct ‘ pronunciation of Ryu? SYR is Yoo, but the pitcher (Dodgers) is Reeyoo.
