It's hard to believe that Georgia went from #39 to #10 in the Rolex Rankings. She hadn't played well all year. She is ahead of Moriya and Brooke who have been much more consistant. Doesn't seem right to me.
That was also a surprise to me. I guess it has a lot to do with the Divisor. She also got a huge amount of points for ROY.

Georgia is ahead of Jin Young Ko in Rolex ranking; who leads Louise Suggs Rookie of the Year award by a wide margin.
Rolex rankings favor winner and top 3. The winner gets more than 7 times of 10th player; point difference between 3rd and 5th player is more than 10th player points.
For a major, the winner gets 100, 2nd 60 and 10th player gets 14.
So Yeon just went over a million dollars for, I believe is the seventh straight year. It's every year that she has been on the LPGA tour. She is now second behind Ariya on the Money List. Which means that she will probably be top ten, for the seventh straight year.
She has been a little inconsistent, but she has also had great moments. Like fighting back on the weekend after slow starts. To finish third place.
Making three straight birdies to finish the third round at the Meijer Classic. Then winning it by making birdies two out of the last three holes.
Making a birdie to make the cut, the last hole at the ANA.
She has one win at Meijer ....also two top fives at the Majors. Although she let one slip away. So looking at the whole picture, she has had a pretty good year so far.
Oh! by the way she is now number two Rolex Ranking and number four Race to CME Globe. Also a chance for the Annika Award.
...Mi Hyang played so badly that the shutterbugs avoided her like the plague on Sunday...can't find any pics from Round Four, but they missed a nice comeback round for a T-28 finish. Keep the mo' going into the Brickyard which I assume she'll play (field not posted yet).
********
FYI, Round Four replay starting with the leaders at the 6th hole. These are not the GC broadcasters.

Agreed. She's also ahead of Jin Young Ko, which is ridiculous IMO. One week does not a season make.

That is ridiculous for Hall to be ranked ahead of Ko. I get that a major is weighted more, but it shouldn’t override all the top 10s on one side and missed cuts on the other.
The other thing that doesn’t make sense to me is how anyone is anywhere close to Ariya in the Rolex Rankings. She is far ahead of InBee, SYR, and SHP as far as wins and top 10s over the last 2 years. Can anyone find a description of how Rolex Rankings are figured?
Didn't Ariya have a long streak of really bad play at some point? I seem to recall last year that she was missing a lot of cuts and not contending at all. As those tournaments get farther in the past, her ranking will go up.

Ariya missed 7 cuts in 8 tournaments summer of 2017.

Per Rolex Ranking, a player who wins a major and missed 12 cuts in other twelve regular events earns more points than one other player who finishes solo 10th in those same 13 tournaments.
The player who wins a major earns 100 points and the other player who finishes solo 10th at all 13 tournaments, including a major, earns less than 98 points.

Actually I think it was 6 out of 7 and one of the 6 was a WD. SHP missed 5 out of 8 cuts starting the end of May, and you’d think those most recent events would be more heavily weighted. Of course she did win 2 of the 3 events she did play the weekend. It just surprises me when the announcers say Ariya can be overtaken each week when she seems to be clearly the number one player now.
I was just going to say, Park has struggled a lot this year, and I'm surprised she is as highly ranked as she is; but, she did also win two events including a Major, which doesn't hurt.
I'm too lazy to look it up, but it feels like Ariya didn't really start to recover until earlier this year. Before that, it felt like she had disappeared down the same rabbit hole as Lydia.
Inbee is another player who had a run of good finishes this year including a win, but has also had some struggles. But she didn't have as many bad events to overcome from last year, she only played half the season.
So Yeon started really slow this year but is playing really well now. So, I think we just don't have any one player who has been consistent over a long period of time lately, hence the closeness at the top.
The announcers have always talked about how a golfer that's close, can take over the no.1 Ranking. It's part of their job to give out information. I don't know why that should be an issue now.
Since the Rolex Rankings have been around for a lone time . I have to think that they know what they are doing by now.
