3Putt: By saying "Big 4", I assumed you meant that Kim was on the same level as Inbee, Ko, and Lewis. I do not disagree with your assessment, and she has the potential to go even father than that as she continues to get her legs under her. As far as I see it, there is really a Big 2 in LPGA golf - Lydia and Inbee. Lewis is consistently great, but I think the other two ladies have far exceeded her at this point, and Hyo Joo is on Lewis' heels.

(personally, I like that this board covers all the golfers of Korean ethnicity, regardless of whether they play under the Korean flag. Many of them were inspired by Se Ri, too!). Happyfan: Hmmmm....you are a really funny guy......when a FAKE Korean wins....(e.g. Xtina's win at Lorena's event or Ko win at the Oz Open) you make no fanfare and don't make a long detailed post of the win like you do when a REAL Korean win....vs. your final congratulatory post(s) of the winner's including many pictures of NYC, Sei Young Kim, Amy Yang & Inbee's wins at the Coates, Pure Silk, Honda & HSBC. You make a quick congrats comment on Xtina's & Ko's wins without pictures and then quicly comment on the other REAL Korean pro's play....lol. You even commented on how lucky Ko was when she won in Melbourne...is Stacy Lewis influencing you nowadays?....lol I love you sense of humor and wit on your very polar responses on REAL vs FAKE Korean wins....you're a good man. Hey what's up.....you didn't make your usual comment that this week's event was set up to favor the bombers....Wildfire is definitely a LPGA track without tight stress off the tee.

Yup...that's what I'm saying...I think HJK will demonstrate this year that her name belongs when there's a discussion on Ko, Inbee & Lewis. HJK is young...yet she has demonstrated some very fine form in all her LPGA appearance...I'm too lazy to research her LPGA results but I believe they have been really nice and consistent too. As much as I don't care for Lewis...she isn't going anywhere and wants to beat Ko & Inbee really bad....I think Stacy would step on Ko & Inbee's throat if she had to...I can't say Ko and Inbee would do the same. Lewis is very consistent...but off the top of my head I don't believe she has really choked away an opportunity to win...she's just been outplayed. For selfish reasons...I really do hope to see HJK on the LPGA often this year. The new crop of Korean rookies and actually all the LPGA rookies just add so much excitement this year. I'm really looking forward to watch up close......so many great new faces when they play the CP CWO...and there will be a lot of fans rooting for the Asians.....look at the galleries on TV. If Ko, Wie and the Koreans and American play well up to the CWO...we will have some very nice sized galleries...and a good sized KoreaTown is only a par 5 left of Vancouver Golf Club. I wonder if Ko will use Brian Alexander as her loop when she returned....she used the loop that caddied for her at the 2012 Jr. Girls Am and she won the 2014 Swing Skirts...both played at Lake Merced G&CC.

Lewis choked away Thailand, and I could argue that she gave away Singapore, as well, given that neither Lydia nor Inbee really player super great on Sunday. It's becoming routine - Lewis will have the lead either on Friday or Saturday, everyone assumes she's waltzing home with the title, only to be outdueled on Sunday.

OK...I just looked at Lewis's final round results at the Honda & HSBC.....I guess I don't really pay much attention to her unless I'm laughing at her when she buries her putter in her bag or blames a spike mark (or whatever) when she misses a putt. Poor Stacy....she's got to carry the burden of 330 million Yanks to single-handily fend off the KK.......Koreans & Ko.

I guess that I will have to rethink my pick for ROY. My pick of Ha Na does not look so good right now. She seem to have trouble finishing strong. On the other hand Sei Young appears to be a great closer. Depending on how many tournaments Hyo Joo plays. Sei Young is looking like the player to beat. However it's still early. What an exciting year this is going to be. The other rookies can also hold their own.
By the way I followed Hyo Joo today. She did not look nervous at all. Maybe her playing this tournament for the first time, made her a little hesitant.

Folks, THAT is how you close out a tournament. Man oh man, was that a great win! I recall reading on some message board somewhere that someone doubted that HJK was legit, that her win at Evian came largely thanks to one great round, that she was probably not #8 in the world. Me, I think #8 is way low for her. Last year, Hyo Joo played in one of the most competitive KLPGA seasons I've ever seen; you've seen how Ha Na Jang, Sei Young Kim and company have done this year. But Kim annihilated all of them, breaking record after record. This win is no surprise, no fluke. This gal is the real deal. (I know some of you think she needs to be more consistent, but consider that she has never finished outside of the top 25 in any LPGA event she has played, and she's played something like a dozen by now. Even Ko can't say that). It was really great to see Hyo Joo argue that bee thing. It cost her a stroke, but maybe one of those bees got into her bonnet, because she was absolutely on fire after that. The highlight was probably when she nearly dunked the albatross on 15. Give Lewis credit for hanging in there, but she was hitting far more weak shots than Kim was. Nonetheless, the pressure she was putting on would have really tested a lesser player. Not Hyo Joo. She responded almost every time. And when Lewis crept within one, I still felt like Kim had some more ammunition to use against her. And sure enough, birdie on the final hole, her second LPGA win where she did that. Some credit to the other K-Rookies: Sei Young Kim shoots 65 and had a share of the clubhouse lead for a while; Jang did not have a good day but still notched a t-13th; and Q Baek got her second best finish of the season after a final round 67 (T-17th). Alison Lee kind of fell apart, but Julie Yang should feel good about her t-34th in what I think was her first LPGA event. Great week for Lydia, NYC, Mi Hyang Lee, Amy and Il Hee Lee as well. For In Gee, better luck next week! Congratulations again to Hyo Joo Kim on earning her Rolex!!!! This season has been insanely great for the Sisters!

Definitely not too stressful off the tee, but a lot of these holes were on the short side, which took some of the bombing advantage out of the equation. Add onto that the sometimes crazy danger if you missed your approaches and wound up in a bush or the desert, and it seemed like advantage went to the player who was keeping it in play the most, because that player was probably getting the most makeable birdie tries.

I'm so pleased with this result, I'm a huge fan of Hyo-joo despite her beating my fellow ozzie Karrie Webb at the Evian last year. This doesn't surprise me one bit, to me what this shows is how insular Americans are in believing that Stacy head it in the bag after Friday, this girl has guts and determination and showed it again. In regards to the rookie race i think it is between Hyo-joo and Sei-young, Ha-na Jang is explosive but these two get the job done when needed. I would love to see Min-jee Lee have a chance in the award but if Hyo-joo plays a full schedule then she has it in the bag. As for Q Baek and pardon me for not agreeing with the name change, What is up with that? She is too inconsistent as shown on the KLPGA last year, either she won or finishes mid field. In-gee Chun, will be the player to beat on the KLPGA this year and I hope she does well, such grace and beauty!

I don't think the Americans quite realize just how impressive Hyo Joo Kim has been in Korea, especially the past year. But they'll learn! Sei Young Kim was to me the most inconsistent of the KLPGA stars last year. She either was playing really well or was not a factor. Obviously she has taken to the LPGA well, but last year she didn't have even a single good LPGA tournament (I think she played four?). Q Baek was very up and down early in the 2014 KLPGA season, but once she got her legs she did some great stuff. I think she'll have similar rookie ups and downs here, but I still predict we'll be hearing from her before the year is too much older! Remember: she had more wins as a KLPGA rookie last year, three, than any rookie since Jiyai Shin (and she tied her). Even Hyo Joo only won once as a rookie. Plus the Hana Bank win. I agree about In Gee Chun. Although I think there are a few girls who could give her trouble, including Yoon Kyung Heo, Jung Min Lee, the two rookie stars from last year (Min Sun Kim and Jin Young Ko), Min Young Lee, and Soo Jin Yang if she returns to form. I think Chun has real superstar potential, though, so I'll keep blowing that horn. (interesting stat: last night the top sports story search on one Korean portal was Hyo Joo Kim. In Gee Chun was 5th most searched, even though she only finished 37th. She was the only other player from that tournament in the list).

Add another 70% ($157,500) to Hyo Joo Kim's winnings from her sponsor Lotte:
South Korean golfer Kim Hyo Joo has extended her personal sponsorship deal with Lotte Group.
The 19-year-old, currently ranked world number nine, will represent the Korean conglomerate for a further five years, after agreeing an extension worth US$1.2 million plus performance incentives.
Each tournament victory will earn Kim an extra 70 per cent of her winnings, while a top-five finish will result in a 30 per cent bonus.
According to Korean press reports, a further US$1 million will be available to Kim if she tops the LPGA Tour’s end-of-year money list in 2015, if she reaches number one in the world rankings, or if she completes a career grand slam. • Lotte extends support for Hawaiian LPGA event
Kim shot to prominence earlier this year with victory at September’s Evian Championship, her first Major title. Competing primarily on the Korea’s KLPGA Tour this year, Kim recorded five victories overall, taking the circuit’s player of the year award and money title in the process.
Lotte, Kim’s main corporate sponsor, first signed the teen sensation in 2012, tying her into a US$500,000 deal when she turned professional at the age of 17.

For those of you who think, that Hyo Joo Kim is inconsistent, Hyo Joo Kim turned professional in October 2012 and has 12 wins worldwide (3 professional wins as an amateur prior to October 2012), so, I do not know, where that inconsistency perspective is coming from!!! Including the LPGA events she played as non-member, Kim has played in 13 LPGA events and never finished outside the top 25, with eight top-10 finishes and 2 Wins, 1 being a Major (see results below):
