Big week coming up as the North Texas Shootout is the last event before entries close for the US Women's Open and is also the last event before the first reshuffle of the Priority List. Who'll make it into the field in Lancaster via the Rolex Rankings? Could someone still win their way into the Open in any of the five events left? Who's poised to make the most of the reshuffle? It will all be answered next Sunday.

The initial entry has been updated with the lists from categories 11 and 15. No new names from the Top 10 on the LPGA Money List but four have qualified via this week's Top 50 in the Rolex Rankings: Ha Na Jang, Jin Young Ko, Min Sun Kim 5 and Ariya Jutanugarn. Kim is the biggest beneficiary, having vaulted 14 places to #37 with her win this past week.

The USGA released the list of the 96 players who are exempt into the championship and who filed an entry by last Wednesday's deadline. The remaining 60 places in the field will be filled primarily from the sectionals.

This unfortunately is the first year of Fox Sports' multi-year deal with the USGA. The good news is that the broadcast network will be showing the final two rounds (2:30-6:30pm EDT), but you'll now have to figure out where Fox Sports 1 is on your dial for Thursday and Friday (2-7pm EDT). Your lead announcers will be Joe Buck and Greg Norman.

Contrast this with their wall-to-wall coverage of the US Open in Washington state. Thursday and Friday coverage on FS1 will be from Noon-8pm EDT with the broadcast network taking over for prime time coverage from 8-11pm EDT. Weekend coverage will be on Fox from 2-10pm EDT Saturday and 2:30-10:30pm EDT Sunday with the final three hours each day simulcast in Spanish on Fox Deportes. If they need a Monday playoff Fox will be live at Noon EDT.

Until the Yanks decide to attend and watch the USWO.......we are extremely luck to obtain 5 hours/day of coverage on Thurs & Fri and 4 hours/day on Sat & Sun.

Although it's not a GC telecast....we are very fortunate to have so many hours of LPGA coverage at other events....I happy about the GC contract and we are very fortunate the Koreans and Japanese pay big bucks for the GC feed to justify GC televising the LPGA events.

And we should be thanking the USO...if not for it...the gals wouldn't be playing for $4M and it has stability as long as the USO is played as no corporate sponsorship is necessary.

Let's see what kind of galleries we see coming up at Westchester (Women's PGA) & Lancaster (USWO).
The USWO should be headed to small communities where major sports is sparse....like the USSO in Omaha and Edmond where they were well attended.

Talk about USGA events...I'm disappointed we in Canada, don't receive coverage of the Women's 4 ball event at Bandon (golf mecca or golf porn).
I'm also disappointed Lucy Li/Scavo got knocked off this morning in the rd of 16....their combined age is 29 and they are the 4th youngest team.
Luckily, Pouty Face Stacy Lewis is not playing and complaining about the youth at this event.....lol.

If I had a dollar for everytime Greg Norman badmouthed Tiger Woods I could afford a nice car. However, the stories about his unfaithfulness certainly have been entertaining over the years. Probably the most despicable golfer ever. Joe Buck is the most sanctimonious announcer of all time. Quite a combination.

Mozo had one of the coolest bags last year...just a big Shark logo running from top to bottom.

At the Entrant Lookup section of the USGA site, it looks like they don't show the particular qualifying location anymore when you query a non-exempt player's name...which stinks.

Kim Kim is giving it another shot this year, but where? If she did the Hawaii qualifier, she already bombed out.

SHI WINS US WOMEN’S OPEN CHINA QUALIFIER

Nanshan: Shi Yuting booked herself a ticket for this summer’s US Women’s Open on Tuesday when the Beijing teenager won the lone spot available at a China sectional qualifier for the oldest major in women’s golf.

Playing against a field of 21 China LPGA Tour regulars and top amateurs at the CGA Nanshan International Training Center Garden Course in Shandong, the 17-year-old national team player carded rounds of 74 and 71 for a one-over 145 score and a one-shot victory.

South Korean Jang So-young (78-68) was runner-up, while China Taipei’s Cheng Ssu-chia (73-74) was two shots behind Shi’s winning mark at the one-day qualifier.

With a strong wind blowing across the 6,193-yard layout in north-east China, Shi took advantage of the calmer conditions of the afternoon to close with a workman-like round that included two birdies and lone-bogey.

Her appearance at the 70th US Women’s Open on July 9-12 at Pennsylvania’s Lancaster Country Club will be her second in the tournament after qualifying last year as an amateur.

“Now I have played that event I found out I really enjoyed it, which made me more eager to play again. Today I am proud that I did it. I’m excited now,” said Shi who turned pro in October.

“I made a triple bogey at the second hole to the last in the morning (round) and lost the lead, but I didn’t give up. Last year, I won it in the afternoon. My advantage is stamina, endurance. I believe I can do it, so I just tried my best to play solid in the afternoon.”

After missing the cut at last year’s US Women’s Open by nine strokes when she shot 80-79 on the famed Pinehurt No. 2 layout, Shi said she was confident that she could produce a better result this year.

“Last year I felt pressure and just went blank on the first tee in the US Women’s Open. But that was just nerves. I believe I can now play with a calm mind this year and get a better finish.”

The China qualifier is one of four international qualifiers being played around the world, in addition to 21 events being held in the United States.

Miller and Pepper have both been prone to say really obnoxious things, but they are also both great most of the time, so I'll take the occasional 'choking freaking dogs' or 'Morgan Pressel just got robbed' if it means we also get more 'Se Ri's swing is like a Michaelangelo statue'.

Miller in particular has praised the Korean ladies where most commentators politely refrain. On Ryu in 2011: 'this is a first class, world class golfer'. That I still remember what he said is testament that he does a good job. And I recall running into him at the 2003 Women's Open, wandering the course before the coverage started to get a feel for how the course was playing that day. Dude knows his stuff, and that he's willing to do that for the women, not just for the men, speaks volumes.
