Not sure why So Yeon is smiling. She is two over par, on this fairly easy course. Don't expect her to be frowning though.

Jenny from the Block is three shots back...probably too far back to win, but she's due for her first win this year. "Where's David Bedwetter when I need him?" The tiara on the left says Superstar Hyo Joo

Way to go Amy! Plus Stacy Lewis was reasonably gracious on 18.
(I still wince when I think of how Lewis sulked on 18 in Beiging after Shanshan won with that near double eagle. But Stacy still needs to work on the smile though. She could definitely take a lesson from Brittany Lincicome when she lost to the QB in Incheon last year in a playoff. I don't know how Brittany mustered such a warm smile; I would have been biting off my headcovers.)

At WRX...we nickname Stacy....Ms. Pouty Face....but when she showed a bit of improvement in attitude it changed to SNaP....Stacy not as Pouty....lol Did you see how angry SNaP was when someone SNaP'ed a picture on the 12th tee block?....I guess some fans from Beijing came to watch in Pattaya.

Congrats to Amy....glad to see "The Korean Reign of Terror" continue in 2015. Amy got really showered on 18....hmmmmm....only Koreans out there celebrating.....racism???......lol. If The Rocket won...I'm sure Anna N, Sandra Gal, etc would be out on 18.
I wonder if Amy's nerves would have held up if Stacy didn't implode on 15.
I really like the 18th green and bunkering.....makes for a really exciting finish....birdie to bogey...or a possible eagle or double...or triple....ask Ariya.

After round 2, it's already looking like this is Lewis' to lose. I hope Amy or somebody can prevent this one from becoming a mega-snoozer tomorrow! Good call....ya a real snoozefest....you've gotta do more of your voodoo and reverse karma more often for Sista wins!

Yangster's Paradise!!Congrats to Amy (or should I say 'Aye-mi?)!!! It was a stressful last hour, but she got the job done. Wow! It's been a weird season so far. NYC gets her first win in several years on the back of a rare bungle by Lydia. Now Amy cashes in on a real meltdown by Lewis on one of the easier holes on the course. I did note that, after Amy made that clutch par save on 17, in the background Sandra Gal had a pretty big smile on her face watching Amy. This did seem to be one of the more robust victory celebrations I've seen; I think all the Koreans were happy to see this great player and very nice lady get her second win finally. Amy didn't make it easy. On 18, with a two shot lead, I kept recalling how Ariya was in the same position (in the fairway, two shot lead) and blew it by going for the green in two. As Amy prepared to do go for it, I was shouting at her to hit a fricking iron. But she went for it, and sure enough, she hit a terrible shot and left herself with a nasty bunker shot, just like Ariya (although Ariya's was worse, I think she may have been plugged, whereas at least Amy had a clean lie). Somehow Amy managed to get her third shot to stay on the green, or we might have been witnessing another agonizing blown chance. Whew! Two other Korean bombers played well. Sei Young Kim made a great run to score a top five, while Mirim Lee just needed to make a few more putts to give herself a chance. She was real close, but tie for second is not bad at all! Also, great to see Inbee run into a t-7th with a 65! Hyo Joo shot a 70 and actually lost ground, but though her t-23rd was a terrible result by her standards, all things considered it wasn't a bad way to start her LPGA career! Even So Yeon shot a 68 today to finally have a decent round this week. Congrats again to Amy Yang, fourth top five in the last five starts! WOO HOO! (For those who don't get the title reference, here is a link to Tiffany's video about the Sisters, named after Amy!)

Hoo boy! After the two-shot swing on 14, I thought here comes the Lewis Express. Instead it was Lewis who crashed and burned.
It's shaping up to be a banner season for Amy. Finally reaching her potential.

Sandra Gal is a class act...I was indifferent on Sandra until an acquaintance suggested we watch her at the 2013 Safeway...now I'm a Sandra fanboy. Sandra gave Amy a hug while Lewis stuck out her hand for a shake.
Sandra also gave The Rocket a long and deep hug when HYP was crying after her 1st win.

This course really seems to be favoring the bombers right now Distance always has it's advantages. If the LPGA or tournament committee wanted to set up a course to really favor the bombers....the courses would be played at 6900+ yards. At 6900 yards there are quite a few par 4's at 420-460 yards. The short bangers will likely struggle to make a GIR with driver & 3W.....while the top bombers would be hitting driver and 8-4 iron. Likely two par 3's 215+ yards....so 3W for the short hitters. Players like Peanut, Ai, Leta Lindley, Vicki Goetz Ackerman, etc would have really struggled at 6900 yards. Typical 6300-6500 yards LPGA set-ups take some of the bombers advantage away....commonly hitting FW's or hybrids off tees. At the end of the day ya gotta score to contend and win. Looks at the streaky and poor putting displayed by Ariya, Korda, Lexi, Gerina Pillar, Jodi Shadoff, Charley Hull, etc Many of the big bombers had mediocre results this week.

Finally reaching her potential. Congratulation to Amy for a great win. Kudos to Sei Young, MirenLee and Inbee for top tens. Also to Sun Young Yoo and my girl So Yeon for good final rounds.
It was Stacy Lewis tournament to win after going fourteen under after two rounds. Even though she made doubled boogie on hole number fifteen. That was only part of the story, as she went one over par on the weekend. She complained about her new ball was flying to far after Saturday's round. However their were no complaints about her ball, after posting sixty six, sixty four first two rounds.

WOOOOO!!!!! Se Ri SMILE !!! that's what i've ben waiting for all winter. She tees off later today, SE RI SEASON..... life begins !!! Ugh...has Se Ri ever finished DFL? Actually, she has - I remember during 2005 or so when she was having the driver yips, she was last by a mile at the Samsung World Championship. That was probably the depths of her slump. I'm giving her a break for this one because she spent Wednesday night in the hospital (for crying out loud!) and probably should've WD'd. But that's not Se Ri. Now if she keeps these scores up through the next couple of tournaments...then we should start to get worried. Congrats to Yangster, though! She really does remind me of Se Ri, and her swing is sooooo effortless. Peaceful, almost.

This course was SUPPOSED to favor bombers, but Amy Yang isn't really what I would consider a "bomber" in the traditional sense. She's no slouch off the tee, but she has been making most of her money this year due to her ball striking - she's second on Tour this year in greens in regulations. Big hitters will always have some advantage over those who don't hit it as long, but as we see on every Tour all over the world, you have to be able to strike it well, and you need to be good with the flat stick. And, as Ariya Jutanugarn can possible contest by now, it doesn't matter how long you hit it if you're burying the ball in the rough.
