Between Lydia and Ha Na. Lydia was in complete control of her game and Ha Na was out of control. This course call for thinking, not just swinging away. I do not understand golfers that get so aggressive on twenty foot birdie putts, that they end up making boogie. Putting them that hard, has no chance of making a right to left breaking putt anyway.
I thought So Yeon would contend on this course, because she always have her game under control.

From what I have seen so far, this is one of the toughest courses they will play all year. It is a shame that so many of the top players are missing. This is playing like a major championship. My test? When a player makes their best upward movement in the standings, when they are off the course. Perfect example round two, Jenny Shin started out in 71st place, played the morning round shot 2 under and was in 35th place when she finished. When the afternoon players finished she wound up in 16th. That's the stuff you see in majors! Tony: I assume Lancaster G&CC is a classic tree lined course...so the USGA could make it the most difficult layout this year....we'll see...but a completely different difficult from what we are seeing at Royal Melbourne. I'd love to see the gals get beat up at the USWO. Are you attending?....isn't Lancaster only 60-90 minutes away for you.

Two rounds down. Everything is telling me that Lydia has this tournament in her hand, but there is a small part of me that thinks Ariya is going to walk away with this one. Of course, given that Ariya is Ariya, I don't make any prediction until she's on the green on the 72nd hole.Exactly. But let's not forget that Lydia choked it a bit on the 71st hole at Ocala. Go Kiwi!

Absolutely inexcusable that H. Jang threw her club. She needs to model her game after Se Ri not Webb. I expect a well deserved fine. Lydia is going to bury her. Huh....I never saw Ha Na throw any club on 12 or 13 after a triple and bogey. Ha na even had a wry smile.....classic Korean ice running threw her veins...though I really luv her spunkyness and fist pumps when she drains a putt. Unlike what we have seen from sore loser, bitter and pouty face Stacy Lewis....someone at WRX made this hilarious picture...lol. i.imgur.com/peGgZZS.png

Man, I have not been enjoying this tournament. Well, things have gone pretty well so far this year, so I can't complain. I'll confess I gave up watching round three after Jang's meltdown on that one hole. I have never seen her toss a club before; she must have been incredibly frustrated. Although I still think she has a chance for a good finish, I think the few bad holes she had at the end of round three finished her for this week unfortunately, even though she is still theoretically within range. To each their own...but come on Happy....how can one not love this event?...if you are really a HAPPYFAN....you will love what is expected to be a GREAT finish later on tonight. And I'm luvin the 5 hours of live coverage starting at 6pm PST. The gals are playing on one of the world's top 10 or top 20 golf courses in the world...that they rarely get access to play tournaments. I think you'd be ecstatic to see Royal Melbourne first hand. Golf is mainly an individual sport...so be HAPPY and start cheering for the players and not a nationality....lol. Besides......a fellow Sista....Lydia is tied for the 54 hole lead. Luck will play a role in tomorrow's outcome...there is such a small area to land your ball on the green...otherwise danger looms. I'm glad Golf Australia has not neutered Royal Melbourne....unlike what the LGA did at the WBO when the made Carnousite play like a pitch and putt for the gals. It will be an exciting final round.

Because of HJK's limited LPGA schedule...I too expect Ha Na to contend well for ROY.

Some thoughts on the tournament! Pretty much the result I was expecting since maybe day two. It might have seemed close all day, but it just felt like sooner or later Ko was going to make some crucial shot, or get lucky, or both, or Amy was going to make a big mistake, and pretty much each one of those things happened. Congrats to Ko on the win, she certainly earned it with her consistency, but man, does that girl live under a lucky star or what? She starts to struggle early, puts her tee shot in a bad place, then promptly holes out for eagle. Her second hole out of the week, by the way. The next time she was struggling, Amy was set up with a short eagle putt, and then... Thunder clouds! Nice long break for Ko to gather herself. When they finally come back, Amy's putt does everything but go into the hole; I think it lipped out twice in the same putt, if that's even possible! Still, great job by Amy. She was three shots better than anyone else in the field, but as has happened to her before (2012 US Women's Open is an example), still not good enough to win the top prize. I feel like she has some wins in her future soon. She is having a real comeback season after a rather lackluster 2014. The leaderboard was chock full of Sisters again. Chella Choi and Il Hee Lee represent for the Volviks. Jenny Shin shoots an impressive 69. 5 of the top 6 were Korean by birth! Not a good day for Ha Na Jang, but she still had some nice highlights, including a SWEET bunker shot on 18, and notched a t-7th. Minjee Lee's t-7th was, believe it or not, her best ever LPGA finish and first career top ten. And in front of her home crowd! Oh, and how about Q Baek? Her third straight under par round, although she just missed a top ten thanks to a lip out on 17 and short par miss on 18. Still, T-12th is a huge improvement over her first two events. She even got on TV finally! Great tap in eagle for So Yeon that was almost an albatross; but they didn't show that shot alas! Anyway, T-21st, which, considering how poor her start to the week was, is not bad at all. Two South Americans in the top ten, no North Americans. How about that? Great job, Sisters. FIGHTING!!!

It's going to be tough to dislodge Lydia Ko from the no. 1 position. She played this difficult course with precise fearlessness. What confidence at such a young age!
My choice to win, Ariya Jutanugarn, needs to learn to play within herself. Towards the end, her drives were straying into the rough stuff.
Too bad Amy Yang faltered on 15 and 17. The latter was especially tough. She bogeyed the par 5 after laying up!
The biggest surprise is Paz Echeverria. I had never before seen the 2013 rookie on TV prior to yesterday. She earned a third of her career earnings with her first career top ten.

Lydia was like Iron Byron out there, never making a mistake (except did you see her sharing the water bottle with Jason as they walked up 18?? That's got strep written all over it, and just in time for New Zealand. Lovely. I'll bet Leadbetter's royally pi$$ed, not to mention MOM...

There is a reason Lydia Ko has won six times and Amy only once.
I will go back to the Coates tournament. With a one shot lead Lydia played aggressive, by going for the green. Because she knew if she pulled it off she more than likely wins. However she made double boogie, and people called it a melt-down. I call it playing to win.
Amy was one shot out of the lead, played it safe and made boogie, ending her chance to win. I bet she would feel a lot better today, if she had gone for the green, and maybe had an eagle chance. Maybe she get a double boogie, but at least she would have tried to win, and not hope for a mistake by Lydia.

Personally I think I'll wait a little longer and see what happens. But I'm certainly used to people underestimating Inbee by now.

She can afford to be aggressive, because if she blows it, there's always next week. If Amy is aggressive and blows it, it might be months before she gets another chance. I can understand why she would be conservative, even if in the end it's probably the weaker strategy.

Every shot is an emotional roller-coaster. Still, she did finish 3rd through it all. If I had to describe her style of play at this moment, I'd call it "effectively erratic"...she can be all over the place...if you follow her for a round you will get a scenic tour of the course...the trees, the sand, the fairways, the greens, the cart path, the water...but then you look up and she's in the top 10 or close to it...erratic but effective
