After all the fanfare, kinda weird that Ariya's reign ended in just 2 weeks.

WOOOO! Congrats to So Yeon Ryu on an epic record-breaking win. So thrilled to see her hang on and pull it off! She didn't have her A Game today, but she did what she had to do to hold off Amy for the win. Amy prevented So Yeon from winning earlier this year in Thailand, so it's only fitting that Ryu returned the favor here! Going by Happy's argument, since Ryu had stolen ANA from Lexi, don't whine when Lexi return the favor in the future

This is a #1 I'm very excited about.
Both Lydia and Aryia were deserving number 1s but I do like someone like So Yeon who's more experienced, and a pro's pro. Whatever that means.
The Korean contingent has maybe never had a representative as congenial as SYR either. Not that it's their job to be congenial but there hasn't been a ROK star as easy to like for the casual golf fan IMO.

What's this sudden confusion over whether Ryu is #1 or not? Everyone said prior this tourney, win and she's top. Once bitten, twice shy. They all thought Ariya would be #1 and they were wrong. Once Bitten Twice Shy www.youtube.com/watch?v=B5K6-Kbr1LQBabe. Feel ya HappyFan. They were showing the PGA and Jordan Spieth at the clubhouse when I arrived for my 3pm tee time. I was so hung up on the ladies that I was watching them in my Suite in Tucson at 2:30 today. Tucson is hot. I'm not going to lie and say it's not that bad, it is hot. As I watched Jordan I thought, "oh this is much better." First time in years I felt the men were better lol.

Not a STAR...but the LOVELY HYP is a doll...go fanboy her and see for yourself...but you better do it this year as she's gag choking and maybe joining the Mini Rocket in the minor league, KLPGA, next year.

I was watching more Tiger in the Grace Park era. Plus she was Americanized by the time she was on tour. Moved to US at 12 and went to college in US (wiki)
Congenial isn't the right word. So Yeon is just so PRO.

Mi Hyang moved up three spots to RR #58 and she lead the field in Birdies (10) on Sunday. I watched the replay on JTBC Golf this AM...that par-5 18th hole is a joke. The pond doesn't come into play for the drive or the approach shot. Plus, it's impossible to overshoot the green. I assume someone is trying to figure out if a win by Ariya, Lexi, or Lydia at KPMG could push them into the #1 RR spot.

She has to be reminded that pars are not too bad either. Too many bogeys on that course.

Last week, however, it was Ms. Ryu wearing those shoes!

Jiyai Shin was very easy to like, but she was so small that it was hard to wrap your mind around her being #1. I remember that match play event where she was playing Michelle Wie. Shin was #1 at the time, but the commentators all acted like she would be lucky to beat the almighty Wie. That is, until Shin whupped her. Meanwhile, Inbee is fantastic, but not a big personality. So with So Yeon, I do think we have a Korean who combines likability, fan friendliness and the kind of fitness that makes it easier to believe she could be a top gun.
